What hat are you wearing today?

Morning all.

So today like many mums/daughters/sisters - well OK just about everyone really, I had various 'hats' on today.
There was the 'mum hat' taking care of the washing, dinner arrangements etc
The 'Nannie hat' personally one of my favourites.  It's always nanny's job to take princess to the toilet, washing her face and hands, playing games and hearing all about pre-school (how can she be that old already??)
The 'dog sitter hat' feeding my little dog Roxy.
A new hat for me today the 'amateur hairdresser hat'  Yes I need no applause I coloured and blow dried my mums hair!  Very proud as I've never even coloured my own hair - oh except once when I was about 16!  Having very dark, nearly black hair I decided to dye mine black, yep coal black - it looked awful totally flat, no depth of colour - nothing, except the dark bluey/black stain over my scalp that took ages to go and kept staining my fingers!  Anyway I digress.  Mums hair turned out the warm blond that is said on the box!  We did have a few laughs worrying it would either not take or turn green, but I'm happy to announce it looked great!
Now I've got my 'me hat' on. A little blogging, that is until it's time to create dinner.  Judging by today's results I reckon I'll either have Raymond Blanc or Vogue on the phone to talk Haute Cuisine or Haute Couture! Ha ha!

Today has been a dress-down-relaxed-style day.
Long tunic top in black with bold white spots, this tunic has an elasticated waist with a tie belt, scoop neck with small pleats making a cute little detailed neckline.  I wore a vest t shirt underneath, with my cosy cream long line cardigan over the top.  Leggings accompanied this lazy look, and of course my cream shiny baseball trainers.

Wednesday what shall I wear - Lunch with a friend.

Hiya.

Today out to lunch with a friend.
Firstly I'm taking a quick trip into town to exchange a jumper and see what other lovely delights are on offer.

Lunch today comprised of my favourite pizza from Pizza Express - Pollo Ad Astra.  Now I  planned all morning on opting for the lighter choice, the Leggera Pizza.  You see I'm trying to cut down on food intake and up my exercise output!  This lasted ohh about 5 mins after sitting down, when I asked for a white wine spritzer (small glass) and the aforementioned Pollo Ad Astra, but when it came to ordering the lighter option the words came out wrong, and before I knew what happened the words Romana sang out and off went the waiter!
I knew it would be rude to call him back and change to my original idea, so I had to struggle through the crispy, tasty, thin pizza base with chicken, cheese, tomatoes, sweet peppers, red onion and a drizzle of garlic oil. Are you dribbling yet? OK just me. Lucky for me it was delicious!
It's OK because the extra exercise came from parking further away in the car park! Ha ha.

Here's what I wore to lunch today.
This blouse is last season from H and M.  It has long sleeves, hidden buttons and a v neck without a collar.  I've worn a Cami underneath to keep me warmer as the weather has changed for the worse and it's been very chilly!
I adore these rather fetching colours in this bold pattern.  Colours such as petrol blue, cream, olive green, ochre brown and mink.  Such an array of colours with plenty of choices to match with.  I've worn my Zara dark blue skinny jeans with my cream loafers - ever comfy, wear often cream loafers!    These are from Debenhams and I've seen a great alternative in M and S here for only £29.50!

A windy afternoon by the beach.

Hi there.

Well and truly feeling the autumn breeze.
Went for a little photo shoot with my amazing god-daughter to take advantage of the sun.  Was rather chilly in this outfit, but was a good practise for both of us.

Here I've worn this crochet tunic over a Cami t shirt, however I've also worn it over a long sleeve beige t shirt a few times - another option would be a black long sleeve t.  This was bought from Wallis many years ago, but still looks like new and always gets a good comment or two.  Similar here and here.
Teaming this with some skinny jeans, these are old faithfuls from Next, fitting in all the right places and are wearable with many tops and tunics. Next have a good selection as do M and S, you're sure to find a style and fit in either of these stores.

Got that Friday feeling? TGI Friday.

Evening all.

How are you?  Glad it's Friday?

Late post today - it's prosecco o'clock already -  so cheers it's a happy,bubbly post!

The usual run-of-the-mill running around and chores today, along with taking my gorgeous princess to baby gym.  She loved it as usual, and is really getting the hang of it, singing the songs, doing all the actions, collecting the ducks and completing the set tasks - today rolling, throwing and catching a ball, sounds basic but for a 2 1/2 year old it's a big mountain to climb!

Today had me wearing an old favourite of mine, namely my wide leg floral trousers from Matalan,  I paired with an olive green silky, long sleeved blouse from H and M with cream loafers and a cream long line cardigan, from Debenhams and George @ Asda respectively.  I'm a big fan of olive green with pink - great for Autumn, a real in-between season outfit.

Wednesday in the Woods.

Wishing you all a Good Morning.

If you saw my post on Monday catch it here you'll remember my beautiful god-daughter, who is a keen photographer - was kind enough to take some blog shots for me.  Today I'm happy to show you some more pictures from my 'photo shoot' in the local woods.  We had some laughs at me changing tops in the bushes - and dodging the dog walkers (could of been rather embarrassing), also using the branches to hang the clothes up that kept bending over. Lol.

Burnt Orange or Rust - what do you call it?

Hi there, you all good?

So pleased to show you my post today.
You see I've been having some photos taken by my beautiful, talented and unassuming  god-daughter!

We took off in her little car to the local woods, a fantastic location with amazing scenery, I knew the shots would be good, be never thought they'd be this good!  The lighting, the setting and her patience, along with her relaxed demeanour made me at ease with the situation, and I quite enjoyed it - my one and only complaint was that she couldn't make me look thinner! Ha ha.

This entire outfit has been in my possession for quite a few years.  The tunic top similar here in one of my favourite colour trends of the season.  Burnt orange or rust whatever you prefer to call it has made an appearance on the catwalks and magazines throughout the run up to this season.  Last week seemed the ideal time to wear it for it's first outing this year.
I bought this from H and M basically for the colour.  It has an elasticated waist, slight cap sleeves and a collarless V neck.  When the weather changes I'll be layering with either a similar coloured long sleeve T shirt, or even a cream one.
Skinny jeans similar here were the option I picked, but this top could quite easily accompany leggings, or white jeans.
Bringing along these gorgeous sandals - they are the exact colour match for the tunic and an obvious choice for this outfit.  I know I won't get very much wear from these once the weather really changes but for the time being I'm going with them - there's always next year!

A Grey Day.

Hi there,

Well the weather was grey today, and so was my outfit.

Grey trousers and bag to be precise.

Today was dancing class day, where I attended an adult ballet class, not a full on ballet class for the likes of Darcey Bussell, but a ballet class for a group of 50 old year olds, enjoying movement, music and keeping fit, all tied up with great conversation, support and laughter.
We also partook in a trial class for modern/contemporary dance, that did cause lots of laughter, imagine a group of 50 - 60 + year olds trying their hand  (and feet) at dance moves such as isolated rib movements, finger clicks  and hip thrusts, to be fair I think Bob Fosse would have begged us to dance for him!
We did have some laughs, but we are all happily returning next week for a second go, so it can't have been that bad!  I still maintain you're never too old to start a new venture.

Once I'd returned home and completed my chores, I re-dressed in clothes more suitable to running errands and quick visit to my mum.
I chose this grey outfit to match the grey sky.  Autumn has most definitely arrived today, along with the wind and showers!

Between you and me - I've found a mustard jumper!

Morning fellow bloggers, and how are we feeling today?

What's your weather like? Is it playing fair?  We've been rather spoilt in the UK over the recent months, but I'm sure there will be some pay back on the scene before long! Ha ha.
I don't know about you, but I'm so looking forward to getting full swing into the likes of boots, jumpers, coats and scarfs.
Since I've started blogging (only been since March) I've gotten so many ideas and inspiration from fellow bloggers, IG and the other social media that goes hand in hand with writing a blog.  Ideas of clothing I wouldn't normally wear, colours matched  in a way that I wouldn't have dared dream about and outfits I would not have had the courage to wear.  It's still early days, and don't get me wrong many things I've still resisted to try out - basically cose they freak me out and I KNOW they wont suit me!  But, hey - Rome wasn't built in a day!

Without any more rambling here's today's look.  Casual jeans.  I'm going to try very hard no to fall into the trap of jeans every day now the weather is cooler.

Watch out for No jeans challenge  in the next few weeks!

I attempted this back in May See here,  here  and here, which lasted a few days and was interesting to see what ideas came forward.  So I might try this out again, please 'watch this space.'

Back to my jeans today, these dark denim straight legs are from M and Co a couple of years old, but still looking good and bold.  My previously worn H and M tunic in cream, navy and the ever popular mustard looks great over the top of the jeans, mustard cardigan is playing a big part this season, although I could swap this for the mustard jumper that I've just found in my drawer!  Forgot all about that one ;-)
Cream patent loafers had their first airing this season, and I must say how comfortable they still are.  These are from Debenhams a few years ago, but the shops are full of them so they're yours for the picking.
Love these from M and S here black loafer/mule style on line for £29.50, but selling out in large sizes.

Day out in London - What I wore and what I did.

Hey there, want to know what I did yesterday?
Well if you follow me on IG you'll already know, but for those who don't  (why not?) here's what I got up to.

A wonderful day trip to our glorious city - London Town!

Living so near, about an hour away there was no need to leave at the crack of dawn, so a more acceptable ETD at 10am left me with plenty of time to get the house in order and get myself washed and suitably dressed for a date with the capital!

Parking locally we took no time in taking our place in the queue to alight the Emiratesairline cable car that took us across the Thames.  Seeing London from this vast height was amazing.  As the weather was as fabulous as it's been for the past few days we could see for miles,  Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the O2 Dome, Canary Wharf, The Thames Barrier, The Cutty Sark and The Royal Observatory where amon other equally iconic buildings and attractions. The smooth crossing took about 12 - 13 minutes, and also had an information video running throughout the ride.

Removal Man - another string to my bow!

Hi there, Hope Saturday has been a great start to your weekend.

Mine, oh mine I've done a spot of removals, Well not totally being honest there, I helped by looking after princess and making sure she was safe with the doors and windows open.  I did. however, carry a few bits through (long story but they are moving next door!)  Consisting of a few clothes, some groceries and kitchen items, oh I forgot to mention they are all toys!  Lol, well they have to be moved too.

Trying not to look like a removal man wearing beige, I thought I'd spice it up with a pop of mustard.
I first showed this mustard cardigan here, but knew it would get plenty of wear for the coming months.
As the weather here in the UK is still around 23 degrees today I've lifted the beige chinos with the mustard cardigan, the floral blouse keeps the look lighter - reflecting the September sunshine.
