Style not Age ... All Dressed up with nowhere to go!

Good morning my friends.
Glad you stopped by, you're just in time to see the latest from the ladies of the Style not Age collective.
It's fallen into my hands this month and I immediately knew what the title would be since we are all still in semi lock-down with a maximum of 6 people at a gathering! 😠  I was supposed to be out at my sister-in-law's on Saturday night, which would have been right up my street to get dressed up for a few drinks, some yummy snacks, laughter & dancing to the Juke Box, but Mr Johnson and Covid had other ideas.  I worry that all this will have a detrimental affect on our mindset if it carries on! I dread to think of the figures of suicides, abuse, mental issues and the like.  There's nothing to look forward to, no nights out with lots of friends, no parties and no holidays (without the fear of self isolation).  We need to have more than this in our lives - or else what's the point?  Sorry to be so negative, it just gets to me sometimes!
Despite the inability to go out I had a very productive weekend at my daughter's new property, well I say me I mean my family.  We managed to lay turf in the garden (just in time for wet weather which is helpful) and the boys fitted bi-fold doors on my daughter's new extension.  It looks amazing now and is really coming together, seems it won't be long until they move on. 😢  You'll know when it happens and I'll need all your support my friends. x

So the prompt of All Dressed Up With Nowhere To Go is quite apt don't you think, let's just pretend to be going somewhere posh and exciting eh!

White culottes again! - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good morning my lovely friends.
Hope you are well.
Monday's blog post was a bit of a non-starter!  Apologies for that.  I've been feeling a bit lethargic and lazy of late and I'm afraid the blog has suffered.  I've been doubting my self again and wondering what I'm doing in the big wide world of blogging.  I'm trying to tell myself that I'm doing it for me, and not for gaining followers, likes and nice comments, but we all want to be liked and accepted don't we?  Do you feel like this and how do you cope?
It was a busy weekend with a roast dinner and all the trimmings - I might add it was Turkey that was bought and frozen last Christmas to have at Easter, we decided to bring it out for Sunday and there's plenty of meat left to be eaten so will probably freeze it for another meal.  Good weather, family and a little drink is just what the doctor ordered eh!
It's still warm though, so my transitional pieces are doing a bit of a yo-yoing act - one minute they're on, the next .... yes you know it.  I've bought a couple of new pieces that I can't wait to show you.  They are most suitable for cooler days and I think towards the end of the week that's what we may have.  Do stop by to see them in the next few weeks.
Today I'm sharing another look for my white culottes - catch when I wore them with a cold shoulder top, dressed up for a party & with a rust jumper for fall.

#Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good morning my lovely friends.
How you doing today?
We've had changeable weather again in the UK.  Starting the week off with hot days I've had to pull some more appropriate clothes to wear, but yesterday it turned cooler and i almost needed a cardigan!
Is it too soon to write a Christmas list?  Just asking for a friend - lol
No in all seriousness I've started to write my list and a list of who to buy for.  It's going to be a little different this year, I'll be trying to get lots online alleviating the need to 'go' shopping.  Don't get me  wrong I love search the shops and come home with goodies packed into bags ready to be wrapped but with this virus to contend with I'll probably give it a miss!
So I'll be sharing me list very soon in the hope it will give my family some ideas! 😉 Do join the linkup my friends, what have you been wearing, eating and doing?

My New Skincare Routine with Neal's Yard.

Good morning and how are we all doing today?
I'm okay and settling into September nicely, the return to school for my grand-kids has gone without any major glitches which is a big relief.  My ballet class last Thursday went well and all the proper protocol was followed and we all felt happy & safe.
There were only 5 in the class along with the teacher so we had plenty of room to get the legs and arms working after the long break.  Routines slowly returned to the fading memory and it was nice to be 'normal' for a little while.  We even managed to chat which made it even more like old times.  I'm still not sure about returning to ballroom lessons, there doesn't seem to be much point as I'd be dancing on my own without the help of our teacher or his wife, let's hope things change soon eh?
How are you getting on with returning to your hobbies?

Today I'm out with Esther taking photos, finger crossed the weather stays fine.  Here in the UK each day seems to be different, so deciding what to wear can be a real conundrum can't it!
Today's post is a little different for me, I'm talking about skincare and beauty routines.  Now I'm definitely not a professional and have no previous experience but wanted to share what works for me!

This post is not sponsored or gifted - I paid for all the items myself.

Summer Skirt Styled for Autumn - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
How are you?
I'm excited and nervous to say I'm hopefully in a ballet class as we speak! Yikkes.  I'll keep you informed as to how it goes.  I've had the assessment pack so know exactly what I should be doing and the class has been split into two so's the right amount of bodies are in the room.  My body and mind is ready for it now and I can't wait for this little bit of normality to resume.

With temperature dropping it's been nice to wear season appropriate clothes hasn't it? I've worn jackets on a few occasions as well as long sleeved tops - jumpers are still a bit too warm for me, but today's outfit will be a pleasure to wear when it does turn!

August Review.

Hi there everyone.
Shocking to think it's September already, I'm still back in March preparing to go skiing for the weekend!  So much has gone on since then, but so little seems to have happened!
My daughter and her family are still with us although I don't think it will be for very much longer and I'm dreading the day they pack everything up and move into the new home. 😢

Normality is slowly starting to return here, I've had word that my ballet classes will be starting again, as have the ballroom lessons, but I don't know when I'll be back. Possibly next week to ballet.  The gym is open but with limited classes and numbers so not sure if I'll return yet.  The running is still my only form of physical workout - unless you call helping look after 3 under 6's exercise ha ha!  I've reached 5k now and am trying to build on that with my pace and times - but have to say I'm impressed with how far I've come.  Maybe I'll enter the Race for Life again - when it's not virtual.

Wasn't August a funny month?  We usually have a nice little weekend away to enjoy and many fun family events to attend - alas we couldn't do anything like that so have had fun with BBQ's in our garden for the family, lunch with friends and an evening with our besties. I'm wondering if September will bring us more normality after the schools have returned & more people can get back to work.
So let's get this August Review going.
I started the month with a lovely boho dress in a striking rust shade and imagined wearing it to a festival, it'll get more wear in Autumn when I can chuck on a chunky warm jumper and hide long  boots underneath.

White Culottes for Autumn - #Chiandstylish #LINKUP

Hiya ... 👋👋
How you all doing?
I feel a change is coming in the Mummab household, my grand-kids are back to school and pre-school today and fear it wont be long until my daughter & family are reaping the benefits of family help and settling into their new home.  I won't lie I'm not looking forward to it & will be sad to see my 'big girl' move out for the second time! Saving grace they are literally 5 mins down the road, I'll be getting pay-back for all the time they've spent at mine - lol!

Last month I showed you an impressive pair of white cropped culottes.  Thinking they'd be suitable for wearing in the new season I set about styling them for when the temperatures drop, fortunately the weather was agreeable - so the jumper and boots were a welcomed addition when we took these photos!
Layering is key when weather is so changeable, little tee shirts under a blouse with a jacket or cardigan over the top caters for all temperatures.  I didn't need a cami under this, but come chilly days a nude shade will work a treat.  I've also got in mind a couple of jackets that will keep me warm too!  Monday's aztec number will be a cute little option.
