Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger for the over Fifties - What real women wear!

Styling my Karen Millen Dupes.

Morning all, hope you've had a good weekend.
I've had a super one.  I had a catch up with my best friend on Friday and was surprised when she arrived with a big plate of tomato & mozzarella sprinkled with olive oil, salt & pepper - what a treat!  Chuffed she'd read my blog on Thursday about her tasty homegrown tomatoes. X

Yesterday we had all the family gathered for a big Sunday roast, we cooked leg of lamb with roast potatoes and all manor of vegetables.  My daughter supplied the desserts - mouth watering Biscoff cheesecake and Nutella brownies - yum, yum!  We also made room for cheese and biscuits - I literally couldn't move all evening and vowed to cut down through-out the week - let's see how that pans out - lol!

Summer was a bit of a non-starter wasn't it!  I hardly bought anything to wear, like everyone else I haven't have the need for very much.  I can literally count on two hands the things I purchased.  These three dresses were my favourites, you can see my patchwork shirt dress here, this super rust maxi here & this chic check midi.  It's such a shame I've not worn them yet & really sad to think Spring and Summer have passed us by without the thrill of getting dressed up to go out and have fun!  I tend to buy classic styles so I know they'll look fabulous when I eventually get to wear them.
So today I figured I'd share these new white culottes with you, I bought them this year in the sales and I'm thrilled with the Karen Millen Dupes that cost £12 from F & F - still annoying that you can't order online - a big fail on their part!
I was concerned about the tortoise shell buttons, but my worries were put aside by Esther who said they'd pair with so much like neutral tortoise shell sunglasses do - how right she was.  I've been on the look-out for white culottes since seeing my daughter in a pair a few years ago, they look so chic and the classic style never dates - more importantly go with anything.  They'll be a great asset through-out the next couple of months too when I'll pair them with jumper, jackets and boots.

See, don't the buttons look okay with the black and white gingham blouse?  This one came from Peacocks quite a while ago.  It's not a store I shop in very often, but was happy to find this cute little cold-shoulder blouse for under £15.  It's non-crease chiffon and works a treat with my sling backs that are white and black too.

Come the cool months I've got a little high neck rust jumper that will compliment the trousers beautifully.  I've also got in mind a bolero style jacket - do watch out for that combination.

Photos c/o Esther Ruby - thanks Hun.
Do stop by on Thursday for #Chicandstylish #LINKUP.
Have a super week my friends.
Bye for now. X

  9. I totally see what you're saying about the buttons! I would have been a little iffy about them at first too, but they do look great with your gingham top. Overall, such a cute and chic outfit! Love the slightly retro vibes.
