My Weeknd in Keswick, Lake District.

Hi there,
How you doing so far.

My weekend went really well, but the week went really quickly. It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was up in the Lake District enjoying time away in Keswick with David just having a really nice time wandering around the lake, catching the water boat, lounging around the hotel and eating gorgeous food whilst enjoying lots of fizz.

Our weekend break started on Saturday morning. Quite an early start as we wanted to get the most out of our time away. The journey tool roughly 6 1/2 hours so not too bad. We didn’t even need to stop en route which I’m actually quite proud of. You see for years I’ve suffered from irritable bladder and am always in need of the loo, or so I thought. It seems it’s mind over matter, as when I’m sitting down or in a different situation my mind is occupied elsewhere and I don’t even need the loo! I was the same for the return journey on Monday, so I’m trying to practise not going to the loo unless I REALLY need to go.

So back to Saturday morning. We left home at 7am with a car packed up with everything we’d need for our two night stay (yes I know I packed for a week in all honesty).
David had studied the route and worked out we’d be passing Appleby, which is the well known gathering point for gypsies and travellers to gather for the annual horse fair. It’s got more personal meanings for David as his Dad had many friends that went there and as he’d visited a few times in his later life meant it was a bit of a holy grail for David to go to. We dropped in that afternoon. With lovely hot weather and a quiet setting we spent a wonderful hour wandering the riverside and pathways which, I’m sure, David’s dad had walked. We saw horses being washed in the river, horse deals being struck and horses with carts being run up and down the little roadways. It was quite a spectacle and very humbling. It turned out to be really emotional and a big reminder of my beloved father-in-law and his exciting excursions.

Paradox Shoes & Bag - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning my friends.
Hope June is going well.

Since getting back from The Lake District I’ve been a bit blue! I keep telling myself I’m lucky to have been away but I find it so hard to get back to normal duties. Do you ever feel like that? I seem to feel like it every time I go away nowadays!
Wedding preparations are in full swing with bouquets being put together and some more bridesmaid sample dresses being sorted. I’ve seen a few MOTB dresses but haven’t committed to anything yet! Sophie has got everything under control and I’m so proud of everything she’s done so far, she definitely knows what she wants and deserves the best.

I’m working on a post about my weekend in Keswick soon and will publish that asap, but today I’ll show you my new shoes and bag. They’re from a company called Paradox London, and I can confirm they’re extra comfy, made with exceptional fabrics and their website has loads of pretty choices, I’ll keep them in mind for wedding shoes once I’ve got the dress.

May Review.

Good morning.
Hope you’re well today.

Welcome to the first post of June, the beginning of Summer. Let’s hope we didn’t have that last week in those few hot days! 🤭
Apologies for being late, I've been away over the weekend and just didn't get a chance to blog! I hope you saw my stories on Instagram as It was a super little break, I plan to share next week if you missed it though.

As it’s the first Monday  Tuesday of the new month, shall we look back on what I wore in May for the … May Review.

With temperatures rather low at the beginning of the month I was dressed in layers rather than anything befitting sunshine.  I took full advantage of the sun with my new co-ord here. This khaki green two piece was a bargain from Primark.  It only cost £20 for both items, I consider that a brilliant buy.  The wide leg trousers have an elasticated waist and pockets so makes it a versatile piece suitable for shopping as well as a lovely travelling suit.  The matching top is just so easy to wear.  It slips over the head and sits just below the waistband or can be neatly tucked in.  The colour is good as it'll pair nicely with gold pumps and trainers but can also be worn with heels for a stylish evening look - how would you wear it?
