Hope your week is going well.
Are you watching the football? It’s the World Cup which is being played in America. I normally dislike watching games on telly but have revelled in these. I’m fully supporting England, but I’m not holding my breath for them to do well. Yesterday’s game was alright, with the 4.2 win against Croatia going down very well with the fans. They played really well in the second half but the first wasn’t what I expected professional players to be like. So let’s see how the next games go.
I’m excited for the weekend or more importantly Saturday night. For my birthday last month David arranged a table at Gordon Ramsey’s London restaurant The Lucky Cat in Bishopsgate. I watched the documentary about how it was put together and fancied going and now I am. I think his advertising company is spot on. What better way to attract customers than do a television program about the adventure. It seems to have really taken off and is hard to get booked in. We went on the waiting list and fortunately it came up after a few days. I so excited to go there and can’t wait to see the setting, it overlooks London, and enjoy the atmosphere of the Asian inspired restaurant. I wonder if Mr Ramsey will be there! I’ve not planned my outfit but will do a post and possible Instagram story sharing my evening.
Items marked with an * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
With my exciting evening planned for Saturday night I still don’t know what to wear. Apparently the weather is turning hot and humid over the next few days I want to be appropriately dressed as I don’t want to be too hot! We’re catching the train and tube to the venue which is situated in the heart of the city’s financial district, so won’t be too far to go on the hot and sweaty underground. Stay tuned to see what I decide upon.
Anyway back to this post. I thought I’d share my new balloon jeans with you.
Last Thursday I was delighted to attend a new stand alone store from the George @ Asda company. Their newly refurbished shop in Maidstone was a real gem to explore. Full of new-in styles, everyday basics, swimwear, footwear, jewellery, kids wear and men’s wear all laid out beautifully in the huge store. I found lots I wanted to keep so with another pair of balloon trousers and a couple of Tee shirts in my goodie bag, these casual trousers were my top choice … and came home with me.
The light wash denim are pull on and have an stretchy elastic waist with a drawstring to tie everything together, this is replicated by the drawstring tie on the hem cuff making them a cute harem style that’s giving holiday vibes. Currently priced at £22, this bargain pair of trousers *are a summer ‘must have’. You can view the sizes and other denims via that link too.
The Tee shirt that also came from George is a cute little sleeveless top* that’s got a boat neck. It’s a fitted style that’s a superb fit and is the softest fabric AND it was £4! Also available in black and red and I’ll probs go back for them. ❤️🖤
I popped on my white linen blazer. Linen is such a good fabric for hot weather as it always wears well and keeps you cooler. It’s one for the holiday suitcase too. This one is years old from Bonmarche but I’ve found this one which is similar from BooHoo.
I wore my new sling-backs that I showed you last week. They’ve proved extremely comfortable although one follower commented that they looked uncomfortable, on the contrary they are really comfy and very easy to wear throughout the day to shop and run errands.
