Hope to find you well.
Another brilliant weekend for me, at home too!
I was out for a girls lunch on Friday. Three friends and I went to a lovely restaurant near me which overlooked the Estuary and a pretty bay. We went to FinBars which is located in Westgate which is near Margate. It’s a lovely menu which included a blend of locally sourced ingredients with meat & fish mixed in. The food was stunning. I enjoyed a Caesar salad which had all the usual ingredients along with a tasty crispy boiled egg which had just the right amount of runny yolk. Some of the other choices looked just as delicious. One friend had chorizo scotch egg with fries and another had sautéed shell on king prawns with chillie oil and saffron aioli. We shared a cheeky bottle of yummy rose wine too.
Saturday was a busy one. I helped Sophie set up her bake stall. She’d booked a two day event and did quite well. It's nice to be able to help her in her baking business, she loves what she does and I'm so proud of how far she's come. I returned home around lunch time and set about cutting the grass, well I say grass it's looking very brown and almost dead as we're having a drought here in the UK in places. The garden is suffering and I'm just about managing to keep the pots & hanging baskets going with a daily water from the near empty rain butt. We need water in Kent fast and it's possibly coming in the week but that remains to be seen!
Finishing the garden I took a well earned shower and washed my hair before getting ready to go to a friends beach hut for her birthday. It really has been an amazing Summer and at times it's been like living abroad. The evenings have been dreamy to walk about in and sit outside in restaurants and in the garden, It's almost made me feel like who needs to go abroad for a holiday! Have you enjoyed some hot weather? I opted for casual wear and donned a black jumpsuit that I bought for the hen week. It's a boob tube style with a fancy peplum detail that sits over the bust. It was a perfect outfit that I wore with basic gold jewellery and my flat sandals.
It's the first Monday of August, that's crazy isn't it. It's the wedding month so I'll be a very busy lady for the next few weeks and I'm sure it'll come round really quickly. Anyway welcome to Mummabstylish, it's time to look back at the month of July for the ...
July Review.
At the beginning of the month I was sorting flowers for some the pots and hanging baskets, so I took a trip to the garden centre. It was a hot afternoon and even hotter under the plastic coverings and even though this outfit was kind of cool, I still felt so very sticky and hot!
