JJ's House, Pleats & Lace - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my friends.
What's keeping you sane?
I'm getting my zest back for blogging, my enthusiasm always ebbs when I don't have any photos to use, but having met up with my god-daughter for a socially distanced shoot recently I've an abundance of photos to share with you and my juices are flowing.
Back in June my son was due to get married, but with the current situation this bloody Coronavirus had other plans so the wedding has been postponed - fingers crossed it will go ahead!  I've now to find a suitable dress for the in-between season of October.

Are you familiar with JJ's House  I've shared a couple of collaborations with them in the past which you can see here - in a bright pink two piece and here - sharing this elegant velvet dress.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

There's over fifty colours to choose from for this stunning dress* -  plenty of the shades were very tempting and would be equally acceptable for me to wear.  I picked this very pale pearl pink,  I'm so used to wearing brighter, bolder shades I'm not sure it's really me.  I adore the style though, pleated skirts are just so feminine aren't they.  So with the lace bodice and long length this dress just oozes elegance & chic vibes.
I feel really comfortable with the scoop neckline which has a pretty scallop trim & is made from fine lace and is covered in a striking embroidered pattern.  This covers the inner sweetheart bodice and continues down to a 3/4 sleeve.  I would have preferred it a little shorter it's more like a maxi than a midi on me.  I'm smitten with the amount of material, it moves beautifully and sways when I walk, it'll be a great dress to wear if I went to a Social Ballroom Dance (if I had a dance partner - cough, cough!)

There's no need to wear a bra with the dress either, it has support bones and holds beautifully - that's a good addition with no unsightly bra straps on show!

I'm channeling my inner Marilyn Munroe in this dress, there's so much swishy swirly material I could dance the night away in it, but being a woman of a certain age I would definitely need the 'Marilyn' vent to cool me down - lol

How pretty are the shoes?  From a big choice at Dorothy Perkins, I love the ankle strap, pointed toe and sheer side panels & they happen to be an easy to wear pair of shoes.  I'm happy to state they are still available on the website here for a bargain £30. Everything I like in a shoe, aren't nude shoes just so flattering!

My clutch bag is from a matching twosome from Lotus Shoes - I hardly ever wear matchy matchy accessories now-a-days, I like to live on the edge and have different shades & textures - he he he! 🤣

For a cool price of £143 I'm so impressed with the quality JJ's offer and if you use my code
JACQUI at checkout you'll receive a 10% discount which is valid until July 31st 2020. 😇

  13. I think this dress is perfect- it looks absolutely divine on you! What a bummer this Covid is for weddings - I have two weddings that got postponed. I feel for the couples. But October is a beautiful month to get married- tell your son to keep his spirits high! xx

  15. Thats such a beautiful dress! You should wear it in October for the wedding, it is such a shame for the couples having to postpone and why can't dads walk their daughters down the aisle? Not sure I get that, if we are allowed social bubbles? Love Michelle xx

  23. I love the color of your dress Jacqui! Would be perfect for the wedding. The style with the longer skirt and lace is very elegant on you! Those nude pumps are so stylish and I love the textured style. Such a shame it had to be cancelled, as many things are due to Covid. You look radient!
