Hello and welcome to the blog.
How’s your week going?
Our weather here in the UK has been fabulous. It’s been hot and sunny and I’ve learnt that my favourite all round temperature would be 21degrees! That’s just such a comfortable temperature to go about all our daily business without needing and extra layer or umbrella! I’ve often thought are there any areas that offer this ambience consistently? Do let me know if there is such an area!!
With ‘unusually‘ hot weather recently I’ve been concentrating on outfits that fit this in-between period. For sure colder weather will arrive soon enough it’s just a case of when it’ll be.
So this season is filled with lightweight trousers, tee shirts, light jumpers or jackets and sandals or open flats. My outfit today emulates the weather nicely as it can shift between hotter temperatures and cooler days. Do let me know if it’ll be something you’d wear!
You might have seen these balloon trousers on me recently (either blog or the gram) and the top was worn with some cream trousers and flip tops here & here, but I’d originally bought the top to wear with these khaki trousers, and actually prefer the combination better. Teamed with my new military jacket from H&M - it’s one of my favourite outfits from October so far! 😉
It’s really all about lightweight and layers. I mean that’s the best combination for autumn isn’t it. I need to be cooler and warmer at the same time and have been know to take many layers off when it’s boiling only to put them on two minutes later ! It’s a combination of post menopause and autumnal weather lol. So who else opts for layers? They have to be thin layers too. No need for any thick jumpers yet eh?
So the trousers are really thin. They do crease a bit more than I’d like but look great on and have the ever popular pockets. The drawstring waist and cuff are extremely comfortable they just feel ‘in place’ after my every move.
I choose to wear a new mesh top which I found in Sainsbury’s. It’s from the Tu Clothing section and is so easy to wear, wash and store. No need to iron and no need to hang up!
It’s a double layer with a see through mesh top. It’s in almost a camouflage pattern dottted with pale pinky cream, darker green and khaki green. It’s not a totally camouflage but more of a flower design. Let me know what you think in comments my friends.
Now the jacket deserves at post of its own. I met an old instagram friend at the Laura Geller event in London and Sam was wearing it. I immediately asked where it was from and when she divulged it came from H&M I vowed to search for it and search I did. Welcoming this little beauty into my clasp earlier this week. It fitted perfectly and was everything I thought it would be. My daughter has designs on it too so I’ll have to keep an eye on it from now on lol!
Did you see my reel featuring this shopping purchase? The heart lock necklace was a buy from M&S last Tuesday and honestly I’ve worn it every day since. It cost £18.50, which is almost extortionate for me, but given the fact I’ll be wearing it so often it’s a saving really!
