Argyle Jumper From Tu Clothing - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Morning everyone.
Hope you are all okay.

Another week that’s flown by!
Where does the time go!

My life seems to be busier than ever now. Family life is hectic but I love it. Spending time with the kids and their families is lovely. There’s always something going on and I’m needed in so many different ways that I never expected. For me that’s the beauty of my over fifty blog. I can do it when I want to and when I have the time and should I be needed elsewhere I can leave it. Although lots of the time it’s harder to get back into it!

Today’s outfit started off with the argyle jumper. I found it in Tu clothing and it’s been hanging in my wardrobe for a few weeks. I finally found the right skirt with my burgundy faux leather midi - a great look don’t you think!

Longing for Spring.

Good morning all.
Thanks for joining me today.
**Late Edit **
I forgot to hit publish yesterday! Grrr … so annoyed with myself!

Hoping you’ve had a super weekend. I spent Saturday working in the new build. The plasterboard is going up fast so we’ll be needing the chaps to come and plaster the rooms ready for second fix and painting, well not the whole house, just the top floor and first floor. I definitely need to get looking at bathrooms now, along with tiles. I’ve got lots of ideas floating around my head and on my Pinterest board which I can’t wait to start putting into practice.

Last week I noticed, through the raindrops, some branches showing signs of blossoming! It got me thinking about welcoming Spring. When I get to January it’s all dark and dismal in the garden and I stupidly think it’s going to stay like that for many months, but as we all know time carries on waiting for no man and the seasons begin to change right in front of our eyes. It won’t be long until Easter is here and before long the hotter weather will be with us and Summery clothing is what we’ll be reaching for. X

Now for me I’m only hoping for better weather today I’m sharing a look I recently wore that is trying to entice the Spring.

June Review.

Hi there.
Thanks for coming by.

Another wonderful weekend with the family, culminating with my mum’s annual garden party.  My mum likes to have all the family round for a big party nearly every year, so yesterday was the day. We usually have rain! She picks a day that we can all make (except my youngest son couldn’t this year) which is a different date each year! Nonetheless we seem to always have rain! We don’t have the thunderstorms as promised by the weather readers - fortunately, but did have a couple of showers but that didn’t deter the kids from enjoying the bouncy castle - or me for that matter!
My daughter helped mum organise everything from setting the date on a poll on our phones to arranging what food to bring etc. we decided on smaller amounts unlike previous years and I was pleased to see most of the food got eaten and only small amounts was left! I made a coronation chicken dish with wild rice which went down a treat, and that was teamed with charcuterie and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, salad and a couple of cold pasta dishes too. There was also crisps and pate with bread to devour & I admit to doing just that as my diet was on hold yesterday. I also relished the desserts too, homemade banoffee pie, biscoff cheesecake and Eton mess went down a treat, there’s something about homemade puddings that I can’t resist!

Back to today. It’s the beginning of July and as it’s the first Monday of the month let’s look back on my styles for June for the ….

June Review

Having just got back from my weekend in Amiens, I thought it would be good to share a little insight about my weekend and this beautiful French city. Hope you enjoy the read as much as I enjoyed my weekend break.

Tu Clothing Trousers - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning everyone.
How’s your world going?

It’s been another fab week especially after a really good weekend. You remember I told you about the darts competition on Saturday night, well what I didn’t tell you was that my daughter announced she’d got engaged! I’m thrilled for her and can’t wait to get planning another wedding, although I’m not sure when that will be as they’ve got to buy somewhere to live as well! She’s got a beautiful ruby and diamond halo ring that’s stunning and her fiancée picked a beauty!

On Sunday, David and I were invited to a venue in London for a dinner show. All I can say right now is that it was a brilliant night, with exceptional food and some delicious champagne - which is now my favourite drink! You’ll be the first to know when the post goes live as I can’t wait to share it with you! I wore my vivid pink midi dress from JD Williams and felt really confident in it.

Let me share a birthday present with you today. My sister bought me these trousers and I loved pairing them with this old fine knit top from Phase Eight.

Style Not Age - Lovely Leather.

Good morning.
How are you?

I've had a lovely weekend, although I've not done much!  Friday evening, as usual, I went dancing and revelled in learning the jive!  I've learnt this one before but it's always nice to revisit an old friend like that dance.  We bopped, swayed and jived all rather basic really but I picked up the routine quite quickly.  We tend to learn a dance for 2 to 3 sessions and by the end of the last session I can normally blast through the dance quite well.  I just need an occasion to try this out now, however I'll be on my own as I don't have a partner!

Saturday was spent in the garden tackling the dreaded hedge!  David decided to chop some of the hedge down to the ground as most was being strangled by ivy and wasn't in particularly good condition - we plan to add a fence and cover the area with a hard standing rather than ground where weeds can grow. This is in anticipation of the new house build being started - the scaffolding will need to be put where the hedge was, AND it looks much tidier.  As you can imagine both David and I were exhausted after all the work so we just had a takeaway and watched a film with a couple of g & t's.

On Sunday, David had another morning in the garden trimming one of the cherry plum trees that is on our boundary, that too is encased in ivy, so I set about trying to untangle and cut the branches - it's an ongoing story and I plan on 'attacking' it again next weekend! David decided to cut the grass.  It has grown so long and looked a state so he put the height up on the mower and ran over it without collecting the grass cuttings.  We've done that before and it dries up and blows away fairly quickly and it's a good way to get the grass under control without too much effort.  When the weather improves I'll be back to cutting it once a week, that’ll be good for my getting my steps in eh!

Now I've told you about my weekend, let's get down to the nitty-gritty of today's post.  Today I share the post with my three friends from the Style not Age collective.  This month our prompt was set by Hilda and she chose the fabulous title of .....

January Review.

Morning all.
How are you.

How did January fair for you? Didn’t it go slowly! I think that’s because of the cold weather which, at times, was extremely cold! January is always a long month being the middle of Winter when most of your money has been spent over Christmas so there’s not much shopping etc. with that being said I did purchase a couple of items, including these trousers and long boots. (Both featured below).
I’m excited to see what’s going to be in favour this month which will depend on the weather I think, but Spring is on its way and there’s sure to be some pretty colours and outfits to dream about & work out how to incorporate them into my already quite extensive wardrobe!

So let’s take a look at some of those new bits I was telling you about in the …
January Review.

My first post featured what I wore for NYE and doesn’t that seem a long time ago!  This sparkly top might not be restricted to the festive period and I might have to incorporate it into everyday wear like I did with this sparkly jumper last week!

Styling my Leopard Print Coat - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good Morning my friends.
How are you?

I'm getting back into the swing of things now.  The house is sort of back to normal, but there is a gaping hole where Emily, Dan, Max and Violet once were, but I've seen them nearly everyday and we're off to their house for dinner tonight, so things aren't that bad! David and I went to our other daughter's for dinner in the week and I still have two at home, so it's still a very busy and very much a fun-anything-can-happen household.

I've been taking photos again in my dressing room and have moved things around so I've got a bit more space which is good - you'll have to let me know what you think of my latest photos, because these were taken in there on Tuesday.

Now it's all about my new coat today.  I spotted a friend on Instagram styling a similar version and loved the whole look so set about re-creating it.  It's not a total copy but basically very similar - with my twist on it.  Here's a link to my friends look, let me know if you think I've succeeded please. Alice & Olivia - Find your perfect fit!

Hello and welcome to Mummabstylish.
Hope your week is going well.

Are you a fan of faux leather?  I have always liked wearing this sleek and sturdy fabric and have now got a couple of new skirts along with a pair of jeans and culottes in my collection.  I have another fabulous skirt arriving soon as I bought one on Vinted the other day ... a cheeky little bargain for moi!

In case you're not familiar with Vinted they're an online website where you can buy and sell new or pre-loved garments at bargain prices.  I've bought quite a few bits from them in the past, but admit to only buying 'new with tag' items.  Selling is another avenue where you can literally get rid of anything you no longer want or need.  I went through my wardrobes recently and instead of donating to charity, which I usually do, I decided to sell on there.  It's surprising what people want to buy, even old garments that aren't 100% pristine sell, it just depends what you want for them.  Vinted is very easy to use, with everything on the App easy to follow.  When something is bought the item is paid for along with the postage, you receive an email with a postage label or QR code to stick on your parcel.  All that's left to do is drop off at the selected collection point, as soon as the item is received and has been checked the money (less postage) is transferred to your account, it's as simple as that. (If you'd like to know more, do drop me a message or email my friends).
So as soon as the new skirt arrives, you'll be the first to see it, I promise!

My OOTD is the jeans I mentioned above and this striking top I've received from Salamander Shirts.
I bought my trousers in the Tu Clothing section of my local supermarket and have worn them loads of times since finding them.  They are a perfect fit and look good with lots of tops and jumpers (that I haven't already sold on Vinted) lol!

Drinks at The Old Neptune.

Hi there, how are you?

I've been feeling really tired over the past few days.  With my busy weekend away being the foundation the rest of my week and weekend have compounded it - I've had nights out, late nights and hectic days trying to get all my Christmas shopping done (I've still not finished 😧).  It's the same every year, but this one feels particularly harder!
Anyway let's brush over that and move onto more interesting matters.  I had a lovely afternoon out yesterday celebrating a friends birthday.  Drinks in a local pub on the beach was the order of the day, and as always, I had brilliant fun with them.
As it's so chilly I decided to go with trousers and boots and what better time to wear my stunning new blouse from Izabel London.

Moshulu Sandals by the Seaside - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
I hope you are all well.

Another busy few days for Mummabstylish - the Bank Holiday always throws me off track, so with that and a couple of birthdays recently I don't know if I'm coming or going. 😅
On Tuesday I went to see the new Downton Abbey film.  It's called A New Era and I was suitably impressed with the whole thing.  I'm a big fan and watched the series religiously every Sunday evening.  My Mother-in-law also loved watching it with us and we had many an enjoyable Sunday evening watching it.  My daughter is also a huge fan too - she walked down the aisle to the theme tune and even had one of the cars featured in the drama for her wedding!  Lovely memories for us all, did you ever watch it? I have to say what a fabulous 'feel good' film it was - thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and actually want to see it again - I always see other bits when I watch a film again - do you?

With a couple of holidays booked I've started thinking about my Summer wardrobe.  I have plenty of one piece dresses and jumpsuits so won't need to add too much there, I will need some swimwear and maybe a couple of cover up dresses.  One thing I won't be needing are a pair of comfy sandals as I was recently approached by Moshulu asking if I'd like to review a pair of my choice.  Well with a fantastic selection I found on the site I just had to say yes!

If you order now and up until Tuesday 10th May (11.59pm) Moshulu are offering £10 off cork sandals - I do love a bargain, do you?  So why not take advantage of the above discount and get yourself a stylish pair too!

Tu Skirt & Cable Jumper - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP.

Morning my friends.
How you all doing?
Exciting week for me and I'm happy to say I've been to the beauty salon yesterday and am going to the hairdressers this very day!!!  I'm so excited to be getting my hair trimmed, it's beginning to get me down as it's way too long and out of condition.  Catch the looks on IG my lovely friends.

Today I'm sharing another look from Bonmarche.  A jumper is the perfect addition for Spring - worn over a tee shirt or blouse is a stylish way to layer up when the weather calls for it. Doesn't the bright yellow give off a positive vibe too!

Style not Age - Dotty for Polka Dots.

Hello my over fifty and over forty friends & everyone else too. 😍

How are you all?
I can't believe how quickly this months challenge has come round!
Yes it's the Style not Age monthly post and I'm in the driving seat.
My brain has been working overload to find an interesting and topical prompt.
..... and so it appeared after running through a few web pages.

Dotty for Polka Dots.

Polka dots are spreading like measles spots, so why not join the party and invest in an item or two. I bought two tops for this challenge, but as soon as I put this outfit together I knew this was the one.

Styling my new/old check skirt.

Hi there lovelies, how are you?
Hope it's not too miserable and dreary for you and you haven't got the Christmas blues!  I'm getting very excited for my skiing holiday.  For the past 15 years we have travelled to The Alpes for a weeks skiing.  Bundling the kids in the car along with our bags and equipment stuffed in too.  Having five kids there wasn't much room, but hubby was ace at packing and always got everything in.  Every nook and cranny in our people carrier was spilling out stuff!  Odd shoes, coats, bottles of drink, socks you name it we had it!  It worked out financially better for us to travel by car and not fly - plus we got an extra day skiing arriving early and leaving late - result!  Of later years we've taken to flying, much easier with only having to worry about my own case, taking time for a meal & then shopping.  But looking back I'm yearning for our old family fun trips that started as soon as we got to the channel tunnel!

So as I carry on dreaming about my past and forthcoming holidays, I want to share this cute burgundy, black and grey check skirt with you.

Stylewe Fashion for all ages.

Hello and welcome.
If you've not visited my blog before - why?  you've missed a lot!
It's okay you can catch up on past posts quite easily in the side bar. lol!

Basing today's outfit on a scarf I acquired,  this black and gold/mustard square scarf found it's way into my collection and after seeing Emma from Style Splash wearing her black culottes, I decided to throw caution to the wind and regardless of what the weather was doing donned my own!
I quite simply chucked on a mustard t shirt along with my cute mustard waterfall cardigan and the scarf fell into place.
Upon seeing the pictures I noticed that the two mustard colours look really different, in real life they are very similar - I'm hoping I'll get away with this, but what do you think?

Today I've been asked to share with you a super collection from the wonderful on line fashion shopping platform - Stylewe, featuring independent fashion designers.
They are committed to provide shoppers with original, high quality and exclusive fashion products from independent designers.
They say and I quote:
"We bring together designers and fashion covering many different styles. We hope that every one of our customers will find their own unique and exclusive designer fashions at Stylewe."

Looking through their vast collection of clothes ranging from dresses, tops, bottoms, outerwear and sportswear plus a fabulous collection of shoes, bags and accessories!  I defy anyone not find a perfect outfit for any occasion, and then truly enjoy "Designers at your Fingertips".

Stylewe state and I quote,
"We believe fashion should be personal and diversified.  Fashion designers should not cater exclusively to the rich and famous.  We have dedicated ourselves to enabling talented fashion designers to build their own brands and achieve their dream."

I'd love to know what you'd pick, please leave a comment as to what it would be.

Thinking about the huge collection Stylewe have on their site. I thought I'd share a little idea with you all.
So hypothetically speaking I'll show you what I'd be buying for myself if I was a different age, one for a 20 year old, one for a 30 year old and one for me now, in my 50's.

In my 50's

Now this is my style for sure, royal blue velvet swing dress, with long sleeves, v neckline and darling bow detailed belt, making this dress very elegant and stylish. This is stunning and right up my street, a perfect length, smashing colour and could accommodate silver, black or pewter accessories along with colours such as pink or yellow if you feel bold enough!
Suitable for many special occasions, including weddings, christenings and special anniversaries.
Wanting another idea? then why not check out Stylewe website to view other winning designer beauties.
Royal blue party dress

£91.45
Royal Blue Swing Dress.

In my 20's

I had a couple of rompers that I used to wear in my younger days, and fell head over heels for this one.
White is always fabulous in the warmer, sunny weather and this stylish example is actually a two piece, but being the same cotton blend material is classed as a romper!
A broderie anglaise all over effect gives a subtle old English feel, but with a sassy vibe - perfect for beach holidays or festival parties.  Oh to be 20 again!
Rompers for sale - this charming white pick is just one of many on this site - long, short, sleeves or off-the-shoulder styles, take you pick!

£83.83
White two piece Cotton Blend, casual pierced Romper with Belt.

In my 30's.
I adore this gorgeous dress, I imagine I'm wearing this for a wedding on some sunny beach in a tropical destination, the only other items I'll need - a tan and some dazzling high heels! (OK maybe not on the beach, but you get the idea)  Again I've gone for lace - always loved it and always will!
This sexy white party dresses  from part of the superb collection from Stylewe's website,  this could be on your wish list but if this doesn't quite float your boat, pop over to see what else they have.

£99.07
Ivory Dress with sequins and lace - Beautiful!

Hope you can go check out the stunning collection at Stylewe.  They ship worldwide so there really is nothing to stop you.
I know for sure you'll find plethora of outfits all waiting to fill your wardrobe and make you stand out above the crowd.
