Thanks for coming by.
Another wonderful weekend with the family, culminating with my mum’s annual garden party. My mum likes to have all the family round for a big party nearly every year, so yesterday was the day. We usually have rain! She picks a day that we can all make (except my youngest son couldn’t this year) which is a different date each year! Nonetheless we seem to always have rain! We don’t have the thunderstorms as promised by the weather readers - fortunately, but did have a couple of showers but that didn’t deter the kids from enjoying the bouncy castle - or me for that matter!
My daughter helped mum organise everything from setting the date on a poll on our phones to arranging what food to bring etc. we decided on smaller amounts unlike previous years and I was pleased to see most of the food got eaten and only small amounts was left! I made a coronation chicken dish with wild rice which went down a treat, and that was teamed with charcuterie and cheese, coleslaw, potato salad, salad and a couple of cold pasta dishes too. There was also crisps and pate with bread to devour & I admit to doing just that as my diet was on hold yesterday. I also relished the desserts too, homemade banoffee pie, biscoff cheesecake and Eton mess went down a treat, there’s something about homemade puddings that I can’t resist!
Back to today. It’s the beginning of July and as it’s the first Monday of the month let’s look back on my styles for June for the ….
June Review
Having just got back from my weekend in Amiens, I thought it would be good to share a little insight about my weekend and this beautiful French city. Hope you enjoy the read as much as I enjoyed my weekend break.
Do you play darts? Well I’ve only just started so I’m not really very good but that didn’t stop me from coming second in the family Share & Coulter cup 2025. Come read all about my funny evening with the family for our challenge. Is this something you do as a family?
My motto of “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” was top of the agenda for my next look. It features wide leg trousers which I live in all summer. I find this a really flattering style for me and either pair them with a fitted tee shirt of slinky jumper like I’m wearing here.
A 60th birthday celebration next and I was elated to be spending it with my bestie for her big birthday. Stop by to read about my night and let me know what you think about my pretty maxi too.
Another in my favourite style - wide leg trousers with a hint of a twist. What do you think of my alternative tee shirt colour? Let me know your thoughts and if you’d wear similar. X
New sandals on the blog next. I’m so pleased to welcome these chunky soled sandals into my collection and have worn them umpteen times since they arrived. I’m all for comfy with style - how about you?
Style not age we’re dressing for the heat (where’s it gone now) so it was all about shorts, sandals and a camo top for me. You can find out how my three friends tackled this challenge here on the post. How do you dress for the heat?
My final post for the month was all about my trip to Cornwall when I visited my uncle. You can see where I stayed, where I went and what I had as a treat. Cornwall is so worth the visit if you get the chance to go. X
Thanks for being here today, good to see you.
Have a fun week and I’ll see you on Thursday for the linkup.
Byeee x
