Big Florals - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Hi there.
How are you?

Popped into Canterbury yesterday and all the sales are on!  I used to love browsing the rails of the shops to find a bargain and although I love to get something cheap - I hate going through sale rails now! They're always packed with some awful outdated items, hanging off the hanger and all the sizes are generally mixed up or on a hanger showing the wrong size (makes my blood boil)! So for this kind of shopping I'm happy to look online, yes you did read that correctly - I'm turning into an online sale shopper!

I remember this time of year well! Just after the schools breakup and I used to start thinking of holiday clothes for the kids everything was in the sale! I enjoyed finding bargains and scoured the shops for the right sizes and styles for the holiday we always had the end of August. I must add back in the day there were plenty of shops open and had sprawling items just waiting to be bought. Fast forward to 2025 it just isn’t the same. Neither am I though, so it works for me now.  I’m sure most families in the same situation & shop online finding just what they need at the click of a button.

I wore an old dress into town and got a lovely compliment from a shop assistant who said my bright colourful dress matched my complexion. It was a dreary, cloudy day that was sticky & hot & had notifications of an amber weather warning in the evening, it certainly brighten my day and looking around what everyone else was wearing I might just have brightened other peoples days up too!

It must have worked because it brighten up in the evening with no sign of a thunderstorm in my vicinity. ☺️

This is a tea dress smock style but the twist is the bright and friendly flowers that cover it and we're not talking little ditsy flowers, but big bold beautiful blooms.

I’ve been going through my dresses and adding them onto my Vinted account, but for some reason I just can’t let this one go.

It’s a really nice fabric that’s cool to the touch and has a good drape to it. The length is okay too as is the square collar that’s a nice classic cut. The puffy sleeves finish just above the elbow therefore makes this sundress a lovely one to wear on a lunch date.

You all know I enjoy wearing dresses, they just feel so complete don’t you think? You don’t have to think too long about pairing things together and the hardest part is knowing what jewellery you’re going to pick! The same thing goes for shoes & sandals, just opt for something that matches colour wise as well as understanding whatever you choose will need to compliment the occasion. Voila, you’re all set to go!

You must recall these rose gold mules? I got these last year and having worn them loads over the past year I’m genuinely excited to say normal service has resumed this year and honesty they’ve not left my feet! One of the best bits is the Velcro fastening across the front meaning I can make them wider or narrower depending on how hot my feet get! They look great too don’t you think?

  6. A lovely bold print for a day out! I am wearing my skirts a lot lately. I am enjoying thrifting a couple pieces every week or so and I sure had fun shopping with Jodie a couple weeks ago. I haven't really shopped online for clothes in a year or two!

  7. I am sure you got many compliments because you look fabulous in this fun floral dress! I love dresses, too, and have been wearing them quite a bit in the atrocious heat we've been having here in the middle of the States. Thanks for the link up!

  8. Oh Canterbury...... it breaks my heart that I can't go to England now that I'm on the transplant list. Canterbury is so lovely. Anyway, good thing you kept that dress. The shop assistant was right!
