Longing for Spring.

Good morning all.
Thanks for joining me today.
**Late Edit **
I forgot to hit publish yesterday! Grrr … so annoyed with myself!

Hoping you’ve had a super weekend. I spent Saturday working in the new build. The plasterboard is going up fast so we’ll be needing the chaps to come and plaster the rooms ready for second fix and painting, well not the whole house, just the top floor and first floor. I definitely need to get looking at bathrooms now, along with tiles. I’ve got lots of ideas floating around my head and on my Pinterest board which I can’t wait to start putting into practice.

Last week I noticed, through the raindrops, some branches showing signs of blossoming! It got me thinking about welcoming Spring. When I get to January it’s all dark and dismal in the garden and I stupidly think it’s going to stay like that for many months, but as we all know time carries on waiting for no man and the seasons begin to change right in front of our eyes. It won’t be long until Easter is here and before long the hotter weather will be with us and Summery clothing is what we’ll be reaching for. X

Now for me I’m only hoping for better weather today I’m sharing a look I recently wore that is trying to entice the Spring.

I really can’t wait for Spring to arrive. Milder weather and a bit of sunshine is needed don’t you think? I’m longing for the even lighter evenings (and mornings) blossom on the trees, sprouting bulbs, wearing lighter clothes and less bulky items but what I’m really excited for is getting nearer to the new house being finished ready for the wedding in August. 🩷

So last week I decided to try and push things along and wore this lighter outfit - which I actually wore on Friday - with my dolly shoes. I only went to my dance class and was mostly in the car or in the hall, but I did have to walk the path which was wet from the rain, so although I didn’t get wet feet I did get splashes on the back of the trousers! A lesson learnt indeed!

Let’s talk you through the outfit, which was based around a recent sale purchase from F&F sale. I’ve taken a fancy to barrel leg trousers and although they’re not the most flattering fit certainly do make for a stylish & casual mix.
These are like a typical chino fabric. They’re a light tan and fit beautifully. I omitted the matching tie belt - thinking it’s a bit twee! I added a plain cream belt that’s got a flicker of glamour with some striking pearl balls on the fastener. If you zoom in on the next piccy you’ll see the pretty round belt clasp. As mine were in the sale I’ve found this pair on the M&S website that are new in!

Keeping with neutral tones I reached for my striped shirt. It’s also tan and cream and works really well with the tan trousers. It’s rather long so also looks great worn hanging loose over jeans. I kept it smart and tucked it in so the faux suede jacket would keep everything neat and tidy. It’s also a way to make sure you can keep a trim silhouette. Do you tuck a shirt in?

Now I’ve actually got two suede jackets that are very similar. The first one was from Tu Clothing (New version) which I ended up moving the cuff button over to make it fit on my arms better. You can see how I styled it when I copied a friend’s look here. Now I was lucky to be gifted this one from Damart recently and although I thought it was darker shade is a very similar and a little smaller so will be great for warmer weather when I’ll only need a thin top on underneath. Do you like to have similar items in different sizes for contrasting weather systems?
