Styling my Jenerique Dress - #Chicandstylish #Linkup

Morning everyone.
How are you?

Hasn’t it been cold! I’m not really a Winter person unless I’m skiing so the recent cold snap has been awful! I’ve been taking full advantage of this padded maxi coat at every opportunity. It’s so warm and cosy and it’s still available so if you’re in need of a suitable coat for this season I’d definitely recommend this one!

Dry January is going well as is the calorie counting. Both have actually been quite good and I’m pleased to say I’ve stuck to them! Yay! 🥳  It’s been easier because all the family are committed which has made dinners so much easier, we’ve all been contributing to the menus and have been planning the meals in advance. It’s not been hard at all and if I feel hungry I grab a glass of water. Calorie counting is more about what you can have rather than what you can’t like lots of diets, so long as you include ALL what you eat (I have an app to keep a track of everything). I’ve been having chocolate, crisps and bread along with Nozeco which is a delicious alternative to my favourite tipple - Prosecco. 🍾 So wish me luck with this and hopefully you’ll be able to see the results for yourself soon. 😁

New Year’s Eve seems a long time ago and I neglected to share my dress with you, which is just as well because you’ve seen it before. Today I thought I’d share what was a possibility for the occasion - a very fitted purple dress from Jenerique that I’ve got other ideas for. 😉

Styling a Classic Wool Coat from Land's End.

Morning all.
Hope your January is off to a good start.

Mine is going well and I've got a new enthusiasm for the blogging world again.
I’ve been grateful for some decent weather recently (not today though) so have taken a few nice photos for the blog and Instagram (follow me on IG here for more inspiration). That and the fact I’ve got more time on my hands as Christmas is over I’ve been able to put more effort into the blog and my social media platforms. It really is a full time job isn’t it!

Yesterday I had a very early start. I was up at 3.30 to go to the airport, unfortunately I wasn’t jetting off to a hot destination but was dropping my daughter and her family off for their trip to Disneyland Paris. The kids were so excited and I’m enjoying the fun from afar with the photos and messages. Have you ever been to DLP?

Cycle class booked for today along with an early abs class too, so that’s me for the morning, hope to spend the afternoon taking photos if weather is permitting. 🤞

Cast your mind back to last Thursday when I shared a new jacket with you, it's an ultra light down jacket in a fashionable shade of green.  You can read all about my khaki beauty here.

Today I want to show you another stunning coat from Land's End, so do stay with me for all the details.

Monochrome Tan Outfit.

Hi everyone, how you all doing?
Hope you've survived Storm Eunice.
It's been a blustery few days, and I've been laying low and not venturing out - taking notice of the experts by staying indoors and not venturing out unless absolutely necessary.  Have you been affected by the storm?  Hope you're staying safe.

It was a funny day on Friday, as I said before I didn't go out.  Fortunately didn't need to.  I didn't even go dancing on Friday night - I was about to text I wasn't going when I got a message from the teacher to say they'd decided to cancel the class to keep them and everyone else safe.  I have to admit even though I was worried about driving I really would have loved to have been there, it left me rather restless.  I couldn't settle and kept just walking about!  Does anything unusual leave you with a different attitude?

Saturday was a little better and the weather replicated my mood - it was sunny but still cold in the morning, so hubby and I went out to collect a few bits from town.  I had my grandson over for a sleepover on the evening - his sister came over in the week so Saturday was his turn.  He was an angel and I'm not just saying that - when kids are on their own, they act like different children don't they.  He did everything I asked and was such a joy to have around.  I didn't want him to leave, but then I don't want any of them to go really!

Sunday was the usual roast dinner for the family, and yesterday we had chicken and goose!  I didn't like the latter before, hence the chicken was cooked for those who didn't want it!  All the normal trimmings and a fab day for everyone.  It was very hectic and quite noisy too, but they always have a great time as I do too!  What was your weekend filled with?

I have to ask have you heard of the latest craze going around.  Me and my friends & family are hooked on Wordle  & it's been keeping me busy for a few weeks now.  Not all the time you understand, just the odd 5 or ten minutes in the day.  You have to guess a 5 letter word and get 6 attemps.  If a correct letter is guessed but in the wrong place the square colours yellow, but if the letter is in the correct place it turns green - you can then try to work out what the word is.  One word a day and I'm hooked.  It's a really good talking point with the family - all trying to work the puzzle out!  Do click the link and have a go - I guarantee you'll be intrigued too.  For the clever people among us, there's a 6 letter word Wordle2 and also four words to find… at the same time .... Quordle - good luck!

Are you a lover of wide leg trousers?  I find them really flattering and have a few pairs to my name.
These are a firm favourite of mine.  Tan is such a wearable colour so it was a no-brainer to go for a monochrome look.

Styling an Elegant Satin Blouse From Zara.

Happy Valentines day to you.
I hope you have a wonderful day, and get totally spoiled (if you actually celebrate this day).

Hubby and I don't celebrate this day in particular, I feel every day should be a special day and hubby feels the same too.  He treats me special in other ways ... like cooking a lovely meal or surprising me with an gift or two. I treat him well by letting him watch sports on the telly when he wants ... 😂
However I have to add this year we've started a date night.  We've only managed one so far.  We had a meal in one of our favourite restaurants with drinks after in a local bar.  It was really nice to just go out together and talk.  Something we always did when the kids were young but since we've had no ties we've let it slip.  I have more planned for the future, and among some of the 'dates' are escape room, cinema and going to the theatre ... ( I would even go to a football match).

So let me tell you about me weekend, Friday night at ballroom we started learning the Samba.  I bloody loved it!  The teacher put on some really inspiring music and I just danced my heart out.  I wonder what I actually looked like, but I didn't care.  Saturday was lovely and sunny so hubby and I tackled the hedge.  You may recall I often talk about this monster job, but feel I've conquered it!  We cut it down to a more manageable height so it can be trimmed when it's not too tall - so much easier.  We generally tidied up some of the garden, but I need a new mower to get on top of the grass, it's way too long and needs a good cut - so that's next on the agenda.

Sunday I had Max!  My grandson came to stay as his mum and dad went to a wedding.  God isn't it hard to get back to something that you did years ago without thinking about!  We still had a family dinner, and I had the help of my other daughters which made life with Max so much easier - many thanks to them. 💖 Trouble is I get so attached to them and hate when they have to leave.  I'm sure it won't be too long until I see him again - he's only 5 mins away.

Do you love a pretty blouse?  I certainly do.  Whilst on holiday in Abu Dhabi I just had to go do a bit of shopping.  I came home with three shirts, this patterned satin version has been teamed with skirts and jeans already, and with an array of tones within this print I knew it would pair well with plenty I already have in my wardrobe.

Black Trousers a Top Ten Must- #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
This over fifty blogger is getting a tad fed up with the weather now - why wont it just go away and let the sun shine? With that said I've woken up to glorious sunshine today, but with ever changeable weather who knows what this afternoon will bring!
It's been a quiet month for Mummab, but I'm on the countdown to a really busy April, May and June.  There's two weekend's away with a string of birthdays in April followed by the Hen & Stag weekends culminating in my son's wedding in June - with a few more birthday scattered about it'll be a hectic few months I'm sure.  My first trip is to Valmorel for a couple of days skiing.  If you follow the blog you'll know I'm a keen skier, and love to go 'play in the snow' at every opportunity - catch my recent visit to Italy (pre-Coronavirus).  As I'm only going for a few days I don't need much, so an overnight case will suffice.  Driving down through France re-creates our previous holidays with the kids years ago, I have fond memories, although at the time I'm sure it was hard work with 5 kids.  My daughter is coming with us, so it will be good to re-live some of the memories with her.  In my case will be a couple of pairs of jeans, ski gear, two nice tops/blouses and a pair of comfy boots - so excited I'm going to pack this weekend - ha ha!

Today's outfit is a very classic style, one that I'd love to wear all the time.  The black wide leg trousers have to be on my top ten 'must haves'.  They are a timeless addition to any wardrobe and I have two pairs that I circulate.  One from Bonmarche - see them styled with this beautiful sunflower blouse,  & these I'm sharing today are from Florence and Fred.  I've had them a while and have to say they are a tad too long, but with a high boot I can still get away with it.

A Camel Coat to Finish Any Look.

Morning to you all.
February already!  The weather seems to be improving, with signs of Spring on the way.  Is anyone else in need of some sunshine?  I just need some colour on my skin, so will be reaching for the Dove fake I've just purchased!!
I'm looking forward to seeing what's new in the fashion stakes.  It's always nice to see what colours are popular and more importantly what will be leaders in my wardrobe.
I've been busy writing about my recent ski trip to Italy, so will be sharing that with you on Thursday.
This post is a bit #ootd really - nothing new that you haven't seen before, but just a different way of putting things together.  I'm really trying to add interest to my outfits since starting blogging, I rather like seeing what goes together rather than what totally matches - if you get what I mean.
This outfit is based around the coat - you've seen it styled with tan and blue, well this is similar but with added warm tones of red! Do you think it's interesting enough?

Camel Coat from Sosandar.

Morning all.
How are you my lovely friends?
I'm getting my bag ready to go skiing, I've got all my ski gear sorted and the only thing I need is a pair of goggles.  My old ones are well used and last year I knew I needed a new pair because they literally came apart - this doesn't help at all as they steam up making vision nigh impossible.  When I went to Valmorel last year it did prove tricky at times, but I survived the weekend and promised to get some new ones for my next trip.  I've spotted these on Amazon which I might get before I go, otherwise with plenty of local shops selling ski wear I'll buy some out in Italy.

Did you catch my Style Steal last Thursday?  I've been all over the show with my blogging over the Christmas and New year period & I'm really looking forward to getting back to normal and posting a new Style Steal once a month every third Monday - hope you'll stop by to join me, also keep sharing your lovely outfits as I get so much inspiration from you!
Esther and I had a fun afternoon taking photos last Thursday, the weather was very bleak and dreary with grey skies and rain in the air.  I know Esther will bring out the best in the shots, I just hope my outfits keep up their side of the bargain - lol.

Today I thought I'd better show you one of my Christmas presents.  I've wanted to add to my coat collection for ages, and actually have wanted a camel coat for years!  Neutral caramel shades are a 'must' for us all, and I bet lots of you have a camel coat lurking in your wardrobe somewhere!  You might recall I drop a few loads of hints prior to the big day in hope that I get exactly what I want (not that I'm fussy you understand). 🤣 So let's see if it worked!
Err ... shall I get back to the coat?  I have been seeing an awful lot about Sosandar on social media recently and wanted to find out for myself just what all the hype was about.  You can find out what I think about my latest coat further on .....
