Styling a Classic Wool Coat from Land's End.

Morning all.
Hope your January is off to a good start.

Mine is going well and I've got a new enthusiasm for the blogging world again.
I’ve been grateful for some decent weather recently (not today though) so have taken a few nice photos for the blog and Instagram (follow me on IG here for more inspiration). That and the fact I’ve got more time on my hands as Christmas is over I’ve been able to put more effort into the blog and my social media platforms. It really is a full time job isn’t it!

Yesterday I had a very early start. I was up at 3.30 to go to the airport, unfortunately I wasn’t jetting off to a hot destination but was dropping my daughter and her family off for their trip to Disneyland Paris. The kids were so excited and I’m enjoying the fun from afar with the photos and messages. Have you ever been to DLP?

Cycle class booked for today along with an early abs class too, so that’s me for the morning, hope to spend the afternoon taking photos if weather is permitting. 🤞

Cast your mind back to last Thursday when I shared a new jacket with you, it's an ultra light down jacket in a fashionable shade of green.  You can read all about my khaki beauty here.

Today I want to show you another stunning coat from Land's End, so do stay with me for all the details.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

We all need a smart coat from time to time don't we, so when Lands End offered me a choice of coats from their wide selection I jumped at the chance.  The long padded coat I received from them last year went down a storm with me and was the perfect choice for my visit to Germany in 2022. It's such a warm and cosy coat complete with a fur edged hood & you can read all about it here!

By contrast to these two casual padded coats, I fancied something a bit more dressy, so picked this classic camel wool coat *.  A girl can never have enough outerwear can she and neutrals fit in so well with most colour schemes.

I went down the neutral route basically because it’s one I love. I know when ladies get older they get accused of wearing boring beige, but I feel it can be very elegant and flattering. You’ll see me sporting lots of vanilla outfits along with plenty of bright and colourful looks too. I like to embrace all shades, so long as they suit me.

Shall we take a look at the rest of my pieces? I started with this ditsy black, camel and cream pleated skirt. It’s a style I love to wear and turns out to be trending this Winter 24 - worth having a look to see what you can find with pleats my friends, have you seen the pleated sleeve tops?

Now I’m afraid you can’t see the blouse in full detail but it’s one of those ‘keep in your wardrobe for just the right occasion’ kind of tops and last week was it! I saw a blogging friend Laurie wearing one similar so set about finding my own and hey presto found one on the H & M website a few years back - alas it’s now not available obviously!  It’s got balloon sleeves and does up at the back with tiny little buttons. There’s the same detail on the cuff too. The high neckline leaves an opening for a statement necklace, mine is from a big choice in Matalan, I always find a striking style there.

My favourite boots (these are very similar) were picked and they really do finish the outfit off with style and elegance.

Good to have you here today, thanks I’m very grateful.
Hope you like today’s outfit, let me know what you think about the camel coat and I’ll see you on Thursday for the new linkup!
Until then cheerio for now. X

  1. I have always wanted a neutral coat like this one. I just haven't ever found one that was the one, you know? I think it looks so elegant with the pleated skirt. I love pleated skirts any time of year!
