Holding onto Summer - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning.
How are you?
Welcome to my blog and welcome September!

I'm holding onto Summer in today's post, you see I'm featuring an outfit that wouldn't look out-of-place for a summer BBQ or trip out, maybe if the weather was slightly chilly - which it certainly was on some days in the UK! But with changeable weather in ~Autumn, this sort of outfit is perfect.  We need to layer up as mornings can be chilly, whilst afternoons tend to get warmer. Although today we've got sunshine so maybe it'll rain later!!!
This week has flown by, and the fact I've had a cold has made it even worse. I woke up this morning and soon realised it was Thursday and I'd not made a post!  I didn't do much yesterday and the day before as I felt I'd been doing too much and my body was telling me to slow down.  I cancelled my gym classes and basically enjoyed being at home doing nothing but the essentials.  I have to say I feel much better, even in my head-space which was like a washing machine.  I'll be getting back to normal service, but every now and again it's good to switch off even if it's not your body telling you to do so!

Well let's get back to today's look, as I mentioned above it's a Summery look but with that extra layer!

Style not Age Wear Their Greens!

Good morning my friends.
Hope you’re well.

It’s the last Monday of March so it’s time to see what the ladies from Style not Age have been choosing for our latest monthly challenge.

I set this month’s challenge and having noticed green will be popular for the new season I opted for the prompt …
Wear Your Greens.

I had a wonderful weekend  & it was quite busy, so went very quickly.  Saturday was spent doing a few chores and then looked after three of my grandkids whilst their mum and dad watched a local football match where my eldest granddaughter, Amelia was a mascot, she had an amazing time and fortunately Whitstable won!  It was a quick change when I got home as we were out to dinner at our good friends house.  It was for a 60th celebration and we all had a lovely time dining on Steak with salad followed by a delicious cheese board.  As you would imagine I had a few glasses of champagne followed by one of my favourite wines which is a rose wine from Spain.  It's a dreamy pale rose wine that's got a slight fizz to it.  I've enjoyed many a bottle when holidaying in L'Escala over the years, and I've now found a site that sells it in the UK!

On Sunday after a long lie-in I finally got myself ready to enjoy time with the kids.  My son came round as he couldn't join us for a takeaway in the evening.  He bought me a sweet card which had lovely words on it.  I'm a sucker for receiving cards and love the personal words my kids always put in them.  Four more from the others followed - all with equally as touching words inside.  They got me a joint present and I was elated to receive a fab little clutch bag to replace the jaded version I've been using recently.  It's from Fiorelli and the leather pouch bag is just what I've been wanting.  I also got a bottle of Prosecco, a lovely candle that smells amazing, a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, a treat box from Little Berry Bakes along with a tasty Chinese takeaway, which we all tucked into.  My mum came as well and enjoyed being with the family as much as I did!  Once I’d dropped her home I relaxed on the sofa and had a very cheeky chocolate cookie that was from the selection of goodies in the cake box. What a lucky lady I am. 🤍

Bonmarché floaty blouse and white trousers - Chicandstylish #Linkup

Good Morning.
How are you my friends?

I’ve had a brilliant weekend and am excited for the next as I’m away with four friends and David to celebrate our 60th birthdays! We’re off to the Isle of Wright for a weekend of fun, exploring, eating, drinking and having a laugh! No change there then .. lol! 😂 We always have a super fun time when we get together and the weekend will fly bye making lots of super duper memories. I’ll obviously keep you posted and let you know what I’m up to on Instagram, but in case you don’t follow me on there, I’ll share a dedicated post on it soon!

I’m needing to get into town to see the new offerings in real life. I’m afraid I’ve been so cold the past couple of weeks season, I’ve not really worn any new Springs styles yet!  I did pop on a satin skirt, tee shirt, leather jacket and trainers earlier this week but soon changed into something warmer by the afternoon as I was so cold - anyone else having real issues with the cold temperatures?

Have also mentioned duck - gate? Well last week three little ducks decided to call in and stay for a while! I knew that I shouldn’t feed them bread so gave them some porridge oats, which they greedily devoured and wished them well. I saw them fly off later on that afternoon and thought nothing of it! You can imagine my surprise when the next morning they were back sitting and waiting for me. I gave them some more oats which they pecked at and left them to it. They nestled in the garden quite content even though there was no water for them to sit on or wade through! Guess what?  They came back the next day and had the brazen audacity to waddling right up to my front door step and pooping on it!  I shooed them back & off the step & again, stupidly I know, fed them.  This happened all over the weekend so I popped a story on IG about them all. My friend said her in-laws had them in the garden and called them Wonton and Crispy (they don’t know where the third and quite plain bird came from) - so I knew they’d not come far and were obviously checking out the alternative hotels… lol!  So here we are a week and a half later and they are still around! I’ve fed them traditional oats and notice they’ve settled on the ‘ponds’ created by the recent rain, but also seen they’ve returned home every so often! They must have felt happy at mine! lol!  I joked with my friend that I should charge her rent for them!! 😂

You remember I had the pleasure of attending the Bonmarche Afternoon Tea event at Fortnum and Mason the other week? Well today I felt I should show you another radiant outfit from the David Emanuel collection.
Here’s my first choice from them.

Bold Leopard Print Dress - #Chicandstylish #Linkup

Hello and welcome to the blog.
Hope you're week is going well.

The weather has been pants here recently. It’s been so windy any photo opportunities have been well and truly scuppered!
I’ve got the run of birthdays starting next week so it’s going to be busy and rather expensive! David’s big birthday is the weekend after next and we’re having a few drinks & nibbles to celebrate it. Mine is 18 days after that and I hope to have friends round to help me get through it! Unlike me as I usually face everything full on but if I’m honest I’m not looking forward to this one at all, 60 seems so old (no offence to anyone already there) and my aching joints confirm the advancing years. I know once it’s been and gone I’ll be fine and in the words or my best friend’s late mum … “I don’t fancy the alternative”!

So let’s put that talk away and concentrate on my latest dress from Jenerique London.

Styling a Classic Wool Coat from Land's End.

Morning all.
Hope your January is off to a good start.

Mine is going well and I've got a new enthusiasm for the blogging world again.
I’ve been grateful for some decent weather recently (not today though) so have taken a few nice photos for the blog and Instagram (follow me on IG here for more inspiration). That and the fact I’ve got more time on my hands as Christmas is over I’ve been able to put more effort into the blog and my social media platforms. It really is a full time job isn’t it!

Yesterday I had a very early start. I was up at 3.30 to go to the airport, unfortunately I wasn’t jetting off to a hot destination but was dropping my daughter and her family off for their trip to Disneyland Paris. The kids were so excited and I’m enjoying the fun from afar with the photos and messages. Have you ever been to DLP?

Cycle class booked for today along with an early abs class too, so that’s me for the morning, hope to spend the afternoon taking photos if weather is permitting. 🤞

Cast your mind back to last Thursday when I shared a new jacket with you, it's an ultra light down jacket in a fashionable shade of green.  You can read all about my khaki beauty here.

Today I want to show you another stunning coat from Land's End, so do stay with me for all the details.

Capsule Wardrobe Featuring Khaki.

Morning my friends.
How are you all doing?

Today's blog post is one I started to write last month and never got round to publishing it!

I’d been posting an Instagram reel and came across an absolute banging tune, one that means an awful lot to me. I like quite a mixed bag really, my music genres are all over the place & you’d find a real mix of tracks on my favourites list - ranging from classic songs, to musical tunes, with everything from the 50’s to now mixed in. I could never really pin down what’s at the top of my list but Club Tropicana would be up there as would many of the soul tunes from the 80’s and I’m partial to Cornfield Chase too. But let’s get back to the songs that stole my heart in 1982, the year I passed my driving test!

I remember having my sister’s little mini for a few months (until someone turned in front of me and wrote the car off).  The excitement of having four wheels at my convenience and being able to drive where I wanted to and when was amazing.   I lived right out in the sticks where there were only two buses a day! One in the morning and one about lunch time, the return buses were lunch time and early evening - so there was no thought of getting a bus out and home for a night out. I had to rely on my mum or dad, although very good, weren’t very appreciative of being a taxi in the middle or the night let alone the early hours of the morning! So as you can imagine as soon as I was old enough I learnt to drive. I passed the test first time and used whatever car I could until I bought my own (my sisters old car and had to pay back each month)!
The freedom of driving along on my own listening to a tape player playing the only cassette I had - Earth Wind and Fire was thrilling.  My favourite tracks were played on repeat every time I went out. September, Boogie Wonderland, Let’s Groove, Shining Star and Fantasy to name but a few, all mean the world to me.  I can remember the feeling of the world being my oyster, filled with the wonder of what lie ahead of me, feeling I could do anything and go anywhere. I how I loved that feeling. Do you recall that too?  I could never have imagined my life now, a wonderful husband, five amazing children who now have some clever and supportive partners and my awesome grand-kids, 7 🤍 of them so far!  I’ve been to some amazing places and done some extraordinary things so far and I reckon there’s a few more lots more adventures to come.

Well for me a court shoes never really went out of style, how about you?  Is it a look you like to wear?

Today I’m going to share this snippet from my capsule wardrobe.  Khaki colours are perfect for Autumn and I can't wait to delve into putting together some imaginative outfits this season.

Strive Sandals with Beige Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there everyone.
How are you all today?

Rather tired to say the least.  I went to the gym yesterday and came home to cut the grass.  Well I wanted to take advantage of the dry warm weather before the grass had a chance to get any longer!  I mean!  It's been the ideal conditions for it to grow, rain and a bit of sunshine makes the perfect conditions, but not only for the grass, for the weeds and the hedges!  Urgh, yes I'm knackered after working all afternoon yesterday!

On a brighter note, Tuesday evening I went, with David, to my daughters for dinner.  Her husband is a really good cook and produced a delicious & tasty dinner featuring scallops, fish cakes and king prawns with mash, pea puree and a delicious sauce that I couldn't even begin to tell you what was in it!  Suffice to say it all went down rather well as did the bottle of Prosecco and the red wine (drunk by hubby and SIL).  I can't wait to be invited again. X

If you follow me on Instagram you'll have seen I managed to find the pair of black sandals I've been searching for, will share them on the blog soon, but today I want to show off another stunning pair with you, they are from the Strive range and have been a joy to wear as they incorporate podiatrist designed 'Biochemical Footbed Technology' which re-designs the classic flat footbed to the natural contours of the feet.

White Trousers & a Hot Pink Crop Top!

Hi there my friends.
How are you?

I’ve had a super chilled weekend which started Friday night with no dancing but an overnight stay from Max. I have to say I was rather worried he wouldn’t settle with me as he’s definitely a grandad’s boy with me not getting a look in! He even dismisses me with a hand most of the time. Anyway to my surprise he was brilliant and we had a lovely couple of hours when grandad went to the pub.  I gave him dinner and watched Monsters Inc! My giving him some sweets and chocolate backfired a bit because he then didn’t want to sleep when we did - he was blowing raspberries and jumping on the bed when we tried to get him to sleep!! Yeah I know! 😱
He eventually went off for the night and was transferred to the other bed when his mum got in from the concert … McFly at Dreamland! She’d decided to stay to make it easier for me.  She needn’t have worried because he didn’t stir all night!  It was great to have them both and has given me a taster because when their bungalow is being extended they’ll be staying with me again … can’t wait!

Saturday we actually went out! Yeah I know get us! We’d been invited for birthday drinks with my brother-in-law at his local and it made a really nice change to get out and relax in good company.  We came home, a bit worse for wear and made short work of the curry my daughter had ordered. My philosophy of drinking water in-between drinks worked a treat and I woke up feeling fine!

With the weather being awful on Sunday, rain definitely stopped a BBQ day so we decided on a roast and popped to the supermarket for a joint of beef which we had with Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes and veg. It made a nice change and was devoured by all who came!
Do tell what your weened comprised of and I’ll end my weekend diary with what I wore to the pub on a very hot Saturday afternoon!

Styling A Black Knitted Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there, hope all is good with you.

I'm enjoying a quieter week after a busy period with birthdays, the wedding and the hen/stag weekends.  My youngest daughter is in Glastonbury so I'll be avidly watching the telly to see if I can see her ... lol!
The other two are away with their families on Sunday and my son is also off next week too!  It's going to be very strange to have most of them away, and to be honest I'm not sure I'm going to like it!! Fortunately my youngest is still around but will be working shift work so he'll be in and out.  I'm looking after Halle so I'm sure she'll keep my busy with needing walks and lots of attention.  It's nice to 'borrow' her every now and again, and it reminds me that I don't want the tie of having a dog full time - so this'll do nicely for me.

I must just share this story with you as I’m chuffed to pieces about it. Yesterday I met a friend for lunch and a catch up. Whilst sitting at my table a lady came over from the next table and showed me her phone. It had a photo of me on it (from Instagram) and asked if it was me!  It was and she told me she follows me and just had to come and ask. Her husband also confirmed it was me because I had the same handbag with me that I used in the piccy!  Well you can imagine I was thrilled to bits and felt amazing. She told me her name so I mentioned it on the gram and am now following her too! It’s nice to actually meet people in real life isn’t it and I would have felt the same, bit like meeting someone famous!

After borrowing my daughters knitted dress the other day, I knew that it was offered in black too, but was a previous season so I set about finding one on Vinted!  There were lots on there and I managed to bag a bargain with this one for £4 BNWT.  I got the same size as Sophie's and am really happy with the fit.  I popped a full slip under it to gain a smoother appearance, and paired it with some new sandals.

Beige & Rust - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning everyone.
Hope you are all well.

Creeping into May aren't we!  I've got a busy couple of weekends, followed by another spate of birthdays so I'm sure the next few weeks will fly by.
This weekend, which is the Royal Coronation of Prince Charles will also be a double 30th birthday party.  My son and his wife are both thirty this year and as their wedding, which was in lockdown was at Brooke Park & was limited to 15 people. So they’ve chosen to have a big birthday party there so everyone who couldn’t come to their wedding can enjoy it.
After the celebrations on Saturday there's going to be further celebrations at the party.  I'm excited to be there as all the family will be together along with the extended family and friends so it’s sure to be a fun night.  I'll share my outfit with you next week - although I've not decided what to wear yet!

I reckon Sunday will be a slow day with not much happening, however on Monday I'm doing the belated Easter roast turkey dinner and all the family will be joining me.  Maybe I'll have to prepare everything on Sunday to make it a little easier for David and me the following day!
What have you got planned this weekend?  Do share.

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen I was having a bit of a downer a few weeks ago and kept asking myself why was I following this path of blogging and sharing on IG, and whether or not I was good enough, that it was making me miserable so should I give it up, etc etc etc.  You get the picture as I know many of you have struggled with this at one time or another.  I had some extremely helpful and positive comments and messages, some from people I hardly know who all expressed their support and telling me how they've felt and how I would be best advised to treat my negativity.
I can honestly say I was elated at all the lovely things people said and all of the messages were really very helpful.  I know why I'm doing this, it's for me!  Everyone made me feel worthy and that I was doing something worthwhile to them and to me.  I know I've felt like this in the past and shared my thoughts and feelings on here too, which also really helped me.  So for everyone following I want to say a huge thank you, which, without question, extends to my close family who have been by by my side supporting me throughout.

So after that little hiccup I picked myself up and got back into taking my own photos more, it's still a work in progress as I don't feel my pictures are 100% but I'm happy with that.  Everything I write about is from the heart and what I believe in, so if I've written it, that's genuinely how I feel.  I also only share my style, I'm not fake and only have photos taken in something I would wear - this is me and I'm proud of how far I've come.

With all that being said let's share a look I wore earlier this week, this beige skirt with a rust blouse and boots.

'The' Trouser of the Season! - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello my friends.
Welcome to my Over Fifty blog.

Finally the weather seems to have cooled down a bit.  I know I hate myself saying it, but I've really struggled in the heat.  I want to get into my new season clothes and work out what I need new and chill.  I went through a couple of wardrobes last week and have a big pile of stuff that I've been gradually adding to my Vinted site.  It's surprising the space it's released, but I'll have to stay strong so's not to fill them up again!

One thing I did 'splash' out on was these caramel trousers.
I'm so impressed with these elasticated waist comfy's, I'm putting my neck on the line to say they'll be THE trousers of the season!  I've wanted a pair like this for a while, knowing they'll be comfortable and still look stylish.  I saw a couple of pairs in M & S but wasn't overly impressed with the drawstring tie. I popped into my local Primark and found these for the stunning price of £15!  I'm not sure if they have other colours, but rest assured when and if I do find out, I'll be getting them.

Wow - Shorts on the Blog! - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hiya everyone.
Hope you are all good and enjoying August.

Not much to report this week.  David has been hard at work on our footings, and with concrete having been poured last week he is now clearing the site ready for brickwork.  I've not been able to help much - just running any errands and making tea!  Well someone has to do it!
I've been to my gym classes and am really starting to notice a difference in my body.  I've even been brave enough to wear shorts today, something I would never have considered in the past - seems my cycle class is paying off!

I'm out on Saturday, you may recall it was Sophie's birthday last month - so she's decided to go for a girly brunch in London. I'm chuffed that she wanted me to go too, so we've been getting excited about the event all week.  There's been plenty of discussions about what we are wearing, and obviously I've bought a new dress to wear, but it's not come yet so I've got a couple of 'stand by's' just in case.  The main problem I find when getting an outfit together is what shoes to wear?  I hate to suffer with sore feet, so the big decision will be made on Saturday morning - wish me luck! I'll have plasters, gel lines and inner soles on hand too!

Any gaps would put me off wearing it!

See how brave I've been to wear shorts on the blog my friends.

Style Not Age - Sharing our Tutti Frutti Numbers!

Hello there.
How's it going in blogging land?

You remember I'm on holiday this week, so as we 'speak' I'll be lazing by the pool in Majorca (hopefully).
Packing was a lot easier as I'd got lots sorted a week or so before leaving.  What I tend to do is pull everything out that is a 'possibility' and whittle it down to what I actually take.  I've over-packed for so many years which ends up with me bringing loads home unworn.  Not this year I'm packing light, plus there's room for the odd frivolous purchase ... or three when I'm there. 😉
As it's the last Monday of the month you've joined me for the Style Not Age challenge that was presented by Emma.

So without further ado let me share what it is ....
Our outfits are styled around the prompt Tutti Frutti.

All I could think about when I found out about this title was the sweets - Tooty Frooties. They were a firm favourite of mine back in the 80's but I don't see them in the shops now, so maybe they don't make them anymore .. shame!

Style not Age - This Old Thing!

Hello and welcome to the blog.
How's you week gone?

They seem to be flying by for me, I only seem to blink and it's Monday again!
Had another super family filled weekend.  It's was my eldest's birthday on St Georges Day (Saturday) and she had a little gathering of about 50 people.  It was lovely to all be together which has been much miss I can tell you. It ended up quite a late night for me, but totally worth it although we missed a lift home and had to walk (took twice as long as we were both a bit tipsy .. ha ha).
Have you managed a large family event yet?

As you can imagine Sunday was a slow day and I decided to not cook a big dinner.  Yes you guessed what we ate ... an Indian - my absolute favourite, followed by chocolate - I just had to finish the rest of my Easter Egg, I just need them gone!
I had little Max to look after but he was, as usual, as good as gold.

So do you remember me telling you I was going on a one-2-one photography course?  It was for three hours on Friday in Canterbury.  I didn't know what to expect, but took along my camera - making sure I remembered my SD card and that the battery was full.  The course started at 10 am and I met up with the lovely Tania by The Marlowe Theater.  We went back to her flat where she explained all sorts of details about exposure compensation, focus, camera settings and things like making the background blurry.  I can honestly say I couldn't remember everything that Tania told me, but she has since sent a brief summary of what she taught me along with general notes for the one day digital course. I will be doing lots of studying over the next few weeks.  I set the camera up for hubby to take photos (I'm sharing those on Thursday) and today's were the second lot he took - still not 100% but I feel it's a work in progress and as they say Rome wasn't built in a day was it?  I've just been working on one setting so far and feel it will be better to start on one thing and really learn that before trying anything else - any pointers greatly appreciated. X

Anyway back to the blog, it's the last Monday of the month which means it's time for me and the ladies from Style Not Age to share our takes on the prompt that Gail presented us with ....

...This Old thing!

I'm Ditsy over Florals - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello and welcome to Mummabstylish.
So happy you've found my blog today.

I'm an over fifty fashion blogger and love sharing my styles and a little of my lifestyle.  I'm a busy mum of 5 grown up kids who have blessed me with 7 grand-kids ... so far.
It's a hectic house as I have two still at home and the others are only a short journey away.  They are always popping by or needing help so there's always something going on.  Just yesterday I looked after two of them whilst daddy caught up on sleep (he works shift patterns) and the night before I had little Max whilst mummy and daddy went out for dinner.  They certainly do keep me on my toes - quite literally!
Tell me are you hand's-on grand-parents or still parents - it's hard work and I take my hat of to you!

I'm also a very excited Mummabstylish.  Reason being I've treated myself to a one-to-one photography course.  It's just for a few hours on Friday (tomorrow) but I hope to have mastered how to take (or set up the camera) photos of me for the blog - wish me luck!

I'm so thankful to have wonderful children who are fully supportive of me and my blog.  They help me in any way they can.  Hubby also helps me with ideas for blogs and also taking photos.  So once I've had my lesson on Friday I hope I've got a better idea of what I'm doing, fingers crossed for better photos.
My youngest daughter helped take these photos today, hasn't she caught the skirt brilliantly!

If I were a Handbag for Style Not Age.

Good morning my friends.
How are you?
All good here, just had a wonderful weekend with the family.

Did you see my IG on Friday?  Well my youngest son did the most amazing thing.  He's been growing his hair for the last couple of years, with the end goal to donate his locks to the Little Princess Trust.  They use the hair to create wigs for children who've lost their hair due to cancer or another condition.
I have to say I'm hugely proud of him and what he's done.  He's now completely bald!  Do pop over to see him, and maybe even make a donation!

I'm also waiting for the arrival of my grandchild, (unless they arrived since I edited this post) I'm so excited and full of wonder as to whether we're blessed with a boy or a girl and what they will look like.
I'll keep you informed my friends.

Today is the last Monday of the month, which means it's time to take a look at what the ladies from the Style Not Age  group have been styling.
This month it's been Anna's turn to give us a prompt and she went with quite a teaser .....

"If I were a Handbag..."

I did find this one rather hard at first and couldn't come up with anything, bit silly I know as I have so many handbags to my name.  I finally realised a handbag really does emulate a person.  You see I've always wanted to be one of those people who have a small and neat bag with little compartments and everything in the right place.  I even bought one of those inner bags so everything can be transferred from bag to bag, but the sizes never worked for me.  I've come to the conclusion I'm a big-chuck-it-all-in kind of bag person.  I know it's in there I just have to find it. I'm the lady with everything in her bag.  Always have a tissue, pen, hair band, tampon (when needed) and the odd safety pin and sticky sweet! Lol.

To be totally honest I do love a leather bag, there's something about the smell isn't there.  I was chuffed to receive this beauty I'm styling for today's post - it's very me and you can find out more about it later!

Salamander Shirt in Pretty Candy Stripe Pink & White - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hiya everyone, how are you?

I'm definitely down in the dumps after getting back from Skiing, I almost need another holiday to get over it.  I'm working my way through the washing pile and surprisingly did see the bottom for a brief moment yesterday!  I'm not sure whether to put all my gear away just in case we manage a sneaky break away for a weekend in the snow before the season finishes.

I've not been shopping either, which also puts me in a sad mood - but it's a bit early for Spring pieces to arrive and I'm waiting for them to appear before I get shopping. New clothes always make me happy, figuring how to style them, when they will make an appearance & what occasion will I be able to show them off.
So you can imagine how thrilled I was to receive some super beautiful shirts from Salamander Shirts*, and I'm impressed with the quality and styles I got.  This is one of my favourites.  Obviously I chose pink - candy pink & white stripes to be exact and will look good with smart trousers as well as jeans like I'm showing you today.

Style Not Age are Pretty in Pink.

Morning my friends.
Hope you're doing well.
My oh my, didn't September fly by, tell me who's started buying Christmas Presents already?  I've made my list and will try to get bits and pieces throughout the month and hopefully will manage to get all I want.  There's rumors of not being able to get much in the run up to Christmas due to a shortage of lorry drivers, I do hope the get the situation sorted out as we've all had enough of crap times haven't we!

Saturday night, after a quiet day hubby and I went out to dinner with my daughter and hubby.  After finding out one of our favourite restaurants has now closed down, much to our devastation, we ended up in Cote Brasserie.  Annoyingly it wasn't our first or second choice, but nothing worked in our favour time-wise so we ended up in there.  We didn't think it would be any good, especially when being told after we had our drinks that half the menu wasn't available!  They had been waiting for a delivery from the day before!  Bizarrely the delivery arrived whilst we were there and they managed to find more items that we wanted.  We ended up having a really nice three course meal and a few glasses of fizz, and enjoyed a night with our family before the approaching arrival of their first baby in November ... I can't wait. 💖

Now back to the Style not Age prompt - Pretty in Pink. I was so pleased when Anna picked this as her choice.  Pink is my all time favourite shade and although I don't have much in my wardrobe it's a colour I love to wear.  I suppose it's because it's associated with being girly and graceful, the type of person I like & try to be and think I am, it doesn't always work because I'm often found in jeans or track-suits and not at all very feminine. Lol.

Hotter shoes - Brierley Boots - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello and welcome to my over fifty fashion blog.
I'm pleased you stopped by today as I've an exciting pair of boots to share with you.
Firstly a little about my week.  It's been a mixture so far with a day out shopping with two of my girls.  I got a hand-full of presents which are now waiting to be wrapped.  This year I'm taking on the feeling of buying with out worrying.  Every year I ponder each and every present, wasting time as I do.  I'm just over half way and am feeling very positive about the whole experience.  I think Covid has done this & probably better for it!
Tuesday evening I had a "Zoom" get-together with the girls I used to work with - now I have to say "used to work with them" if not my hubby laughs when I say "the work girls" as I've not worked with them for over 30 years! 😂 DISCLAIMER:  I don't go to work, but I do work - he he.
Seven of us managed to get onto zoom and have a great evening, albeit rather annoying we had sessions of 40mins and kept having to re-connect.  We had a little quiz that I even managed to come joint first!  How that happened I'll never know!
Today I'm staying in, well there' not much else to do, it's going to be a blogging day as I want to get things in place for the next few weeks.  It normally starts going quiet this time of the year doesn't it, so will be nice to take advantage of the down-time from blogging.
Okay about this outfit.  I worked with Hotter shoes earlier this year, and you can see the two sandals that clicked for me here & here.  I've worn them both quite a lot over the summer months and inspired my sister to buy a pair too!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
