Holding onto Summer - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning.
How are you?
Welcome to my blog and welcome September!

I'm holding onto Summer in today's post, you see I'm featuring an outfit that wouldn't look out-of-place for a summer BBQ or trip out, maybe if the weather was slightly chilly - which it certainly was on some days in the UK! But with changeable weather in ~Autumn, this sort of outfit is perfect.  We need to layer up as mornings can be chilly, whilst afternoons tend to get warmer. Although today we've got sunshine so maybe it'll rain later!!!
This week has flown by, and the fact I've had a cold has made it even worse. I woke up this morning and soon realised it was Thursday and I'd not made a post!  I didn't do much yesterday and the day before as I felt I'd been doing too much and my body was telling me to slow down.  I cancelled my gym classes and basically enjoyed being at home doing nothing but the essentials.  I have to say I feel much better, even in my head-space which was like a washing machine.  I'll be getting back to normal service, but every now and again it's good to switch off even if it's not your body telling you to do so!

Well let's get back to today's look, as I mentioned above it's a Summery look but with that extra layer!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

So the only thing in my outfit that's new is the little lace top.  I picked this up in the Matalan sale last week and this is the first of many opportunities I've worn it. It works well over a different coloured top and this pale blue ruched side looks great.  It's a good way to add an extra layer the weather calls for, but still gives a nod to Summer vibes don't you think?

I've had the trousers for a while, I got them late Spring but they're going to be a firm favourite for the foreseeable, as long as it's not raining! The design and length is perfect to add trainers, flat dolly shoes or possibly sliders (if weather permits) and the elastic waist is such a super addition - they just pull on! As I said I've had these for a while and picked them up in M & S - they're carrot style which I actually prefer to the barrel leg. Which style is your favourite?

I popped on my loafer sliders - I was kindly gifted these from Lotus Shoes * and I reckon this season will be their time to shine. They fit really well and elevate jeans to give a polished, preppy look. The gold ‘T’ bar detail does it for me, don’t they look fab!

The finally addition had to be my gold bag * because I wanted to keep the gold theme going. This little cross-body bag has been a godsend and I’m pleased with all my gifted bags from Elie Beaumont. Type Her name in the search bar to find others I adore using. 🥰

I hope I’ve given you inspiration for the new season and do join me again for more Over Fifty Fashion ideas!

Time for the Chic & Stylish Linkup.

Let's see who took top spot from last week’s additions. Like me, Cheryl - Cheryl Shops is embracing the transitional outfits with her long white dress and jean jacket ensemble. One to copy I think!
