Hope you’re well.
Out to a party in Saturday evening. My sister-in-law’s birthday so we had a few drinks, a little party food and a lot of dancing - maybe in a different order as I suffered the next day feeling slightly jaded! They had a juke box and it’s always good fun to pick tunes to dance too. We also reminisced about lots of the old ones even getting onto the floor to do “Opps upside my head” - have you heard of that one by The Gap Band? Only people of a certain age will remember rocking backwards and forwards going from side to side!! Sounds weird now though doesn’t it! 😂
Sunday was a slow one and quite honestly I couldn’t wait to get to bed! We had dinner at Emily’s house so it was wonderful not having to do anything! I think it’s my turn to cook next week, what with being Summer and too warm for a roast and doing the keto diet, we’ve not bothered to cook one. Now the weather seems to have turned it’s more appropriate to cook a joint with roast potatoes and veg!
Welcome to the last Monday of the month which can only mean the latest instalment from the ladies of Style not Age. Anna chose this theme and it’s been good to embrace some colour for the title … Colour me Beautiful.
I’d been a little lapse with taking photos for the challenge and left it to the last minute. Once I’d had a bit of a think about it I realised I’d got the perfect shots already, having taken them in last week! This is one I picked to wear after feeling a bit down about the colder weather that’s recently arrived. So I picked my lightweight red trousers that were a Vinted purchase a year or so ago. They have an easy to wear elastic waistband which is so nice to just pull on and they also have pockets along with belt loops - I ran my reversible red/black belt through them more for the look as they stay nicely in place anyway.
I’ve got a matching red vest tee shirt that worked nicely under my recent Shein purchase. I can honestly say I adore this little jacket and have worn it so much since buying it about a month ago. It cost a few pounds so is really worth the money. I know I’ll benefit from it in the coming months for sure.
You’ve seen the ballet flats before as I’ve worn these loads of times too. They are really very comfortable and look great, only downside is side is you can’t wear them in the rain! Unless you’re silly like me and don’t look at the weather forecast before heading into town - yes I got soaking wet feet last week!
You can never go wrong with a red bag can you and this fits right in with so many of my trousers dresses and skirts. It’s definitely one of my top five ways to dress in red. This is an LK Bennett bag and came my way one Christmas from David. He always gets me wonderful presents and always finds just what I like. Maybe I drop really big hints eh??? 😂
You can find more details about Anna’s look on her blog Anna’s Island Style. She mainly shopped her wardrobe for this romantic outfit she created with the help of boots from TK Maxx and a pretty top from good old Vinted!

Hilda’s sporting an outfit she shopped from her closet and you might be surprised to learn this skirt and shirt combo started off as a dress! What a fabulous idea and she’s given this one trick pony outfit so many interesting opportunities! Very clever indeed Hilda. Find out all the information on her blog Over the Hilda.
Until Thursday have a super week. You can find more challenges from Style not Age by searching in the top right hand corner!
Bye for now. X

Well, I’d definitely color you beautiful in this lovely red outfit. The cover up is perfect, too!
