How did your weekend go?
We were offered to make our own reed diffuser scent which was very clever. The wonderful Precious from Gia Como helped us make the product. We started off saying what sort of perfumes we liked, I particularly like lavender in the house so mine was based around jasmine and lavender. We tested each individual smell and then once we’d got three we liked smelt them all together. Once that was done our diffuser had the base and we added this to a basic oil and fed into the bottle. It sits by my bed and I called it “I dream of Lavender” and reminds me of my day out in London. 🤍
I’ve had a productive weekend. The weather was kind, albeit very windy on Saturday, however I got both front and back grass cut bringing a fairly tidy garden, which might not need cutting again until next year. David and some of the boys fitted the front doors and bi-fold doors on the new build. I’m really, really happy to get to this stage and can really see my new home coming together. Once it’s all secure we’ll be able to start first fixing the electric and water pipes now which will be exciting although a bit mundane but obviously has to be done! I’m looking forward to getting the decorative side of the house done. Things like picking a kitchen, lights, bathroom etc. also I can’t wait to decorate the property, we’ll start with white and take things from there. I quite like panelling too, we had that in a previous house and it looked very classy so that’s maybe an option to think about.
Last Wednesday I went to London as I’d been invited to a PR Event held by Damart, they were showcasing the AW collection and it was exciting to see the new styles, I even had a sneak peak at the festive collection it’s all velvet, velour and sequins - definitely pulled on my happy strings even though I don’t want to be thinking about Christmas yet!
Some of you might know my sister also has an IG account and we were lucky enough to have both been invited to the event which was held in Mr Foggs Gin Parlour in the heart of London. We took the train, which was so much easier than driving as it was just over an hour and a half hassle free journey. Once we’d arrived we took the tube to Oxford Circus and set the map up for us to follow! It was a bit hit and miss and we did have to ask a couple of people where it was but before long we’d arrived and were warmly welcomed by the Damart team who were in the room above Mr Foggs Gin Parlour. in Fitzrovia.
We chatted about the journey etc and I soon spotted two fellow IG’ers and went to say hello! It’s almost like meeting a celebrity isn’t it! I wonder if they felt the same about me … lol!
I even had a sneak peak at the festive collection it’s all velvet, velour and sequins.
I also spotted the most perfect outfit for Christmas Day. The dark green velour co-ord is right up my street. It ticked all my boxes from the elasticated waist to the short sleeve top and isn’t the colour spot on for a lazy Christmas day full of eating drinking and being merry. 🎄
So after chatting way too much, finding out about our fellow IG’ers & viewing the new offerings it was time to go. We’d grabbed a croissant and coffee from the venue earlier, but felt it would be good to have a drink so headed out, after saying our goodbyes, to a nearby pub. Judi and I chatted for another hour or so sharing our thoughts about the whole event along with talking about upcoming holidays and home life - honestly we don’t stop talking!
We made our way back to the underground and eventually to Victoria Station for our onward journey.
It was so good to go to London and visit the Damart event but it was lovely to spend time with my sister too. We both have big families and other commitments so it’s hard to afford the time to get together but we’ve made plans to see each other more often in the future.
Do you have family members you get on with but find it hard to afford the time for them?
Thanks for joining me on the blog today, how did your weekend fair?
Have a good week and I’ll see you on Thursday for the linkup.
Cheerio for now. X

Love this, looks like you both had a wonderful day and so special spending precious time together 💞
ReplyDeleteI have no siblings, but I make up for it by having some really good long term friends who I struggle to meet up with regularly. lol. Modern life. It looks like a fab day out and I have to say, the cord skirt your sister picked is definitely my sort of thing. Xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to meet other bloggers/Instagrammers...with your sister! I'm still hoping to make it to London this fall. I really need to get busy if I'm going to do it, right? And, I do hope you buy that red coat when it's available! You look stunning in it!
