Join me at the Damart AW Event in London

Hello and welcome to the blog.
How did your weekend go?

I’ve had a productive weekend. The weather was kind, albeit very windy on Saturday, however I got both front and back grass cut bringing a fairly tidy garden, which might not need cutting again until next year. David and some of the boys fitted the front doors and bi-fold doors on the new build. I’m really, really happy to get to this stage and can really see my new home coming together. Once it’s all secure we’ll be able to start first fixing the electric and water pipes now which will be exciting although a bit mundane but obviously has to be done! I’m looking forward to getting the decorative side of the house done. Things like picking a kitchen, lights, bathroom etc. also I can’t wait to decorate the property, we’ll start with white and take things from there. I quite like panelling too, we had that in a previous house and it looked very classy so that’s maybe an option to think about.

Last Wednesday I went to London as I’d been invited to a PR Event held by Damart, they were showcasing the AW collection and it was exciting to see the new styles, I even had a sneak peak at the festive collection it’s all velvet, velour and sequins - definitely pulled on my happy strings even though I don’t want to be thinking about Christmas yet!

Let’s talk Trench Coats.

Good morning.
Hope you are well. Sorry it’s a late one today, no excuses just didn’t get the time!

How did your weekend go? I’ve had a lovely one with not much to show for it!
On Friday I went out with some friends for one of their birthdays. We went to a cheese restaurant which, fortunately was almost Keto friendly. I did have a couple of thin biscuits but mainly had cheese, charcuterie and pickles. It didn’t actually look a lot but I was quite stuffed by the end of the lunch. The setting in The Cheese Room in Rochester was very quaint and cosy and we sat next to a welcoming open fire. We had views of Rochester Castle and the high street which was bustling with visitors looking at the various shops that lined the street. I fancy a little trip there again to have a look at all the different shops, they also have a wonderful Dickens Festival which is usually held in December!

On Saturday I dropped a couple of birthday cards off and came home to just lounge around. I managed to take a little reel in the morning, taking advantage of the glorious sunshine that beamed through the window. I’ve got a great addition to my dressing room/photography room which is a shower curtain. It diffuses the light and gives it a nice even coverage and products a flattering finish and for only a couple of quid was a brilliant buy!

Sunday was another relaxed day, although David and I cooked a lovely roast dinner comprising of roast chicken and a delicious pork roll that was stuffed with Parma ham, cheese and mushrooms - it was so tasty and I’m planning on having it again this week or next!

My look for you today is centred around my love for this trench coat.

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

April Review.

Hello and welcome to my blog on Bank Holiday Monday.

It’s not really the weather we’re all expecting for the first BH of May. With wind and rain taking centre stage it’s been hard to get into the swing of the spring season let alone wear some lighter clothes!
I’ve actually been away this weekend and am on my way home from the Isle of Wight now!  I’ll share a dedicated post with you soon to let you have a little insight as to what it’s like on this little island and what I got up to!

It’s the first Monday of the new month so time to take a look at what I got up to in April.

Welcome to the April Review.

This dress from Roman has got my name all over it!
I adore the colours as I’m a pink girl at heart. Mauve is one of my favourites too, although it’s not a shade I wear very often or feel it really suits me. Hop over to the post where you can not only find out about this striking mesh dress but find a link to my stunning heels too!

Style Not Age are ready for April Showers

Morning all.
Great to have you here.

How’s your week been?
Another crazy one for me, I’ve had the run of family birthdays and it’s been non-stop! I’m going to take this one easy now, just so I’ve got enough energy for the next group which includes mine - did I mention it’s my big birthday in May?
On Saturday evening we had around 70 friends join us for drinks and nibbles, I worried exactly how I’d fit so many people in the house and would loved to have invited more friends! The weather didn’t play fair - obviously, so everyone gathered indoors for a VERY tight fit celebration (You might recall how Christmas dinner is always a bit a lot cramped). I did state that’s what it was like when I went clubbing and to the pub when I was younger - we just got on with having shouty conversations and squeezing past people on the way to the loo and also fighting your way to the bar!  My outings are much more sedate now, with going to less busy, quieter venues and avoiding anywhere that’s overcrowded. Where do you prefer to frequent?
As you can imagine Sunday was a slow one! I admit to still being in my nightdress at 2pm and it was just as well I didn’t have to cook a dinner as who knows how that would have turned out!  As it was my SIL’s birthday we went to their house for a Chinese takeaway, oh isn’t that the best when you don’t feel like cooking and want an easy night!

I want to tell you about David’s present but it’s a bit long winded today, so pop back on Thursday for an update, it’s a funny story.

Let’s welcome back my four friends from the Style not Age collective. This month was Hilda’s turn to pick a topic and she came up with weather appropriate prompt of … it’s spot on for the weather we’ve been having lately. đŸ™„

Latte Neutrals - Shopping my Wardrobe.

Morning my friends.
How you doing?
I hope you've had a wonderful bonfire weekend.
Do you celebrate Guy Fawkes night?
When the kids were younger we always went to some sort of display.  Never really did anything at home as I felt it was safer to go to an organised event.  We occasionally had a nice big bonfire, usually when we'd got wood and rubbish to get rid of.  If you did participate I hope it was warm, safe and fun to watch.

Do you remember my son winning The Doggetts Coat and Badge race?  Well on Wednesday I'm off to London with the family to attend the presentation ceremony.  It takes place at Fishmongers Hall and I'm excited to say it's a Black Tie event!  I've been to two before, but didn't wear a long evening dress ... I chose to wear cocktail dresses for both events.  But for this one I'm pulling out all the stops and wearing a glamorous long evening dress.  I'll share all the details with you soon, however the dress is black with sparkly sequins and is quite fitted (note to self, watch the diet before Wednesday) lol.

I'll leave you thinking about my gorgeous dress and I'll share this look with you that I shopped from my wardrobe.  It reminds me of my favourite coffee ... a latte.

Style not Age - Go Back in Fashion.

Morning!
I'm starting to get excited .... it's nearly time to put the decorations up!!!!
The indoor decorations will be going up within the next week or so & the lights outside possibly one night this week. We've trimmed the hawthorn bush and purchased new lights to cover it.  It's quite a funny sight when hubby and I put them on, no sorry try and put them on, it's like a Laurel and Hardy sketch!  This year he's got an "idea"... watch this space to see if it works!
The last Monday of the month means the latest edition from the ladies of the Style not Age collective.
This month we're re-visiting a theme that I covered a few weeks ago - re-visiting our old clothes!
Hilda was inspired by my post - so set the challenge for us to take up .....
Style not Age go Back in Fashion.
We're showing off our outfits that we've had for over ten years, or even older!  Nearly all of us have something that's been loved, kept & worn, or just been reluctant to ditch!
Is there anything you have that's really old? (excluding bodies and hubby's) - lol.
