Style Not Age are on Red Alert.

Morning all.
Hope your January is going well, nearly February - now isn’t that good to hear, creeping nearer into Spring, hands up who’s seen daffodils?

It’s been a fairly quiet month with not much happening and I’m sad to admit I’ve not bought one single sale item!  I have found some lovely wide leg jeans that were full price and I’ll be showing them off very soon. I’ve got lots of ideas for them and think they’re going to make a nice change from the skinnies and straight leg styles I’ve been wearing over the past few months.  What styles are you wearing now? Have you purchased a bargain or two in the sales?

It’s the last Monday of January so it’s time to tune into Style Not Age with Anna, Emma, Gail and Hilda. Do have a look at what we styled further down.
It was my turn to pick the topic and after a little searching on the web I came up with …

Red Alert.

Red is very much still on trend for 2024 and these bright and joyous shades are surprisingly wearable. Dopamine dressing is very much a thing. Dressing in red signifies confidence and yes passion too. “It’s scientifically proven that exposure to the colour red increases the heart rate” & you might be pleased to hear this colour isn’t going anywhere fast!

I used to wear lots of red but over the past few years my outfits based on this positive colour have dwindled. I’m trying to make a conscious effort to add more crimson tones into my wardrobe. But until then I resorted to borrowing this beauty from my daughter. ❤️

“Red is the colour that reaches deepest into your eyes”.

My daughter bought this gorgeous jumpsuit for a wedding. She looked stunning in it too and I joked maybe I could borrow it one day. Well that one day arrived when I tried it on for this challenge.
It’s a boob tube style that has detachable thin spaghetti straps that add a bit of extra support.  But the best bit is the ostrich feathers that run across the top. They’re a statement addition that certainly does give it an extra bit of oomph.

As you know it’s a jumpsuit that has a zip up the back.  It’s also got pockets, god how I love pockets on an item. I mean who doesn’t love to saunter around with their hands shoved in them?

It’s a black background that’s got a bold floral pattern over it in bright red which is enhanced by a soft coraly pink. They stand out pretty well and make for an enchanting suit that works well for weddings, parties and special occasions to name but a few.
You know how much I love wearing wide leg trousers and it just so happens this jumpsuit has nice wide bottoms that are really flattering and balance my pear shape figure brilliantly.

I picked the only pair of red shoes I own. I’m looking to add lots more coloured footwear into my wardrobe in 2024 so hope to share more with you as they come along.

I didn’t hesitate with my bag option as this one is new and I’ve been itching to use it. David bought it for Christmas and he always comes up trumps when picking arm candy for me. You may remember many of his choices that have been featured on the blog at some time or other. ❤️
This is half leather, half suede and has both short and one long handle.  It’s nice and bright and quite roomy, and is a fabulous shade of scarlet red.

I kept jewellery plain and popped on a black bangle & plain gold bracelet. The outfit was topped off the with my oversized black blazer. I can’t count the amount of times I’ve worn it and price per wear is pence considering I only paid £8 for it.

Now let’s see what my four colleagues have up their sleeve.

First up is Anna’s offering. Doesn’t she look brilliant in this check number and it suits here beautifully which is nice as she doesn’t wear much red! See all the details on her blog Anna’s Island Style.

Emma’s turn now. She’s added a black vest top over the top which edges the red column trousers and top perfectly. The necklace and bag are both eyecatching and you can find all the information about here super look on her blog Style Splash.

Shall we take a peak at what Gail is offering? Her red skirt and long crimson coat create a suit which looks great with her green shirt and contrasting scarf.

Finally here’s Hilda - Over the Hilda’s outfit. She’s got his one nailed with her bright red wide leg trousers complete with mustard cross over jumper and animal print shoes, this is one that’s got my name all over it. ❤️🧡

So good to have you here with me, I really do appreciate your support.
Do join me next time for another outfit of the day.
Have a super week my friends.
Bye for now.  X
