Morning my friends.
I've had a super week, starting with a new keep fit class early on Monday morning, it really set me up for the day. I started the abs, core and more class that was fast and furious getting me running on all cylinders for the day, it's amazing how taking a class like this can make one feel. I was ready to face anything!
Which was just as well, because my next appointment was having my eyebrows semi-permanently tattooed. If you ever thought about having it done I say "go for it" - eyebrows frame the face, and it's the best thing I've done, especially as I don't have many brows to show off. I'm thrilled with the results, and will be showing them off once they're all heeled up.
Straight after that I met up with Esther Ruby for some photos - I've been styling a really stunning gold lurex dress three ways, so please do give me a look on Monday to check the options - you might pick up some inspiration my friends.
With a very basic skin care routine, I've been wanting to branch out in the beauty care area for a while, so when Lumity* asked if I'd be interested in reviewing some products I jumped at the chance. Find out what I thought about their Morning and Night Supplements, Facial Oil and 4 in 1 Cleanser.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Feeling Fine in a Flippy-Hem Dress!
Hi there.
How are you all doing?
A happy Mummabstylish as this time of the year brings my favourite TV shows - Strictly Come Dancing has been on for a few weeks, but the best show on telly started last night and I'm going to be gripped for the next three weeks - I'm a Celebrity had me on the edge of my seat last night, I'm so looking forward to the next few weeks, glad that I'm in the comfort of my own home!!
I've had another wonderfully busy week. Afternoon tea on Thursday with a couple of good friends enjoying the delights of Sands Hotel. Saturday I had a fabulous evening at Reads with family. Hubby and I enjoyed the company of my mum and uncle along with my sister and brother-in-law. The three course meal was, as usual, superb and the setting was equally sumptuous, with staff to make the evening run as smoothly as possible. Drinks in the sitting room before savouring chicken and prune terrine, roast new season Kentish lamb with caramelised onion, duphine potato, baby spinach with a rosmary jus. I just had to save a little room for the dessert of passion fruit souffle. It's the finishing touches that make all the difference - things like hors d'oeuvre of tiny cheese on dainty toast, anchovy cheese straws, tiny cups of warming soup with mini cheese scones, homemade bread with creamy butter & to finish coffee & HOMEMADE SWEETS - as if I needed any more food!!!
Yesterday I had nearly all the family for a good old fashioned roast beef dinner with all the accompaniments, followed by apple pie and custard - the diet is well and truly out of the window! Lol.
So as you can see I've been so busy enjoying myself - there's been no time to find a suitable candidate for the Style Steal series!
Can I share a little dress with you instead?

Second-hand, Borrowed or Vintage - it's the Future! #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my lovely friends.
How's your week been?
Nice to get away for the weekend isn't it? Well that's just what I did recently with my mum and sister. Mum's choice to head off to Rye in East Sussex for a relaxing couple of days - so barring the walk up hill to the town - opps! it really was. We had rooms for two nights in the River Haven Hotel which served it's purpose with comfortable rooms, decent meals and a bar - what more does a girl need!
We arrived on Sunday and headed up into the town stopping at The Mermaid Inn for a light lunch and welcomed drink. This quaint little hotel is a grade II listed building and boasts 7 ghosts that have been seen throughout the hotel! The building has 600 years of history & has many stories about it's colourful past. We enjoyed hearing all about the smugglers, ghosts and celebrities that frequented the venue - and we were very enchanted to hear that my sister's family were descendants of a particular smuggler and ghost, John Diamond, who was mentioned in their history as being part of the infamous Hawkhurst Gang. We were shown his named room and also the cellar - I have to admit I had goose-bumps whilst the stories were told and the rooms were viewed - I'd love to return and actually stay in the hotel one night - imagine if the ghosts were real!!!!
Sunday evening we stayed put in our hotel, relishing a roast dinner with a couple of drinks in the bar. Feeling the cold we returned to my mum's room with drinks where we chatted more before heading off to bed. The rooms were just right having tea/coffee and TV's in the room - it was rather strange to have the room to myself - let alone the remote control - ha ha!
Monday was my mum's birthday - we had breakfast where she opened her presents & cards, I can't remember the last time we were together in the morning for her special day!
Rye town is full of interesting shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants & we also partook in a cream tea and lunch in Haydens a small family-run B&B in the heart of Rye overlooking the town salts. Prevalent in Rye were plenty of charity/thrift shops, they seem to be in abundance in every town and whilst I'm not a huge fan of shopping in them - I do like to borrow clothes from my daughters' - well they borrow mine enough!

Slinky Black Midi Dress. #Chicandstylish #LINKUP
Hi there, how are you all?
Been a nice couple of days doing not a lot after a busy weekend. Although there's another busy weekend on the horizon for me, so I'm making the most of the quiet, less chaotic time and just relaxing with the dog!
Friday I'm in London with some girl friends for an afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday. I'm really looking forward to spending some time in the capital & hopefully having a bit of retail therapy too! Sunday I'm away for a couple of days with my mum and sister, with mum's birthday whilst we are away so that will be really nice for us to be together. We're going to stay in Rye - a place I've only driven through so It will be nice to see what the place holds for us - lots of lovely restaurants I hope, maybe the odd pub or two as well! 😉
Today's outfit is a more detailed look into the dress I wore for Esther's 'wig' party. Have a look and let me know what you think about this slinky little number and what other ways it could be styled -I've got a few ideas rolling around my head already!

Black Midi's, Wigs and a Poorly Doggy.
Morning my lovelies.
How you all doing?
Another hectic and rather worrying weekend. I looked after three of my grand-kids on Saturday, so as you can imagine my house was turned up-side-down with stuff everywhere - food, toys, cups, plates, rubbish, toys, clothes, bags and more toys! Hubby and I kept asking each other how the hell we managed to bring up five children! and still be sane (well sort of).
We took them to get a few bits from the supermarket, grabbing some sweets and crisps along the way. Then we went on to a local indoor kids play center, my prince and princess loved it, running off to enjoy every slide, ball park, soft play area, climbing frame and tunnel, my younger grandson also enjoyed the baby area, although kept trying to crawl off chasing stray balls from the ball area! I had a nice latte coffee as did hubby - although he would have preferred a beer if they sold them! Coming home we were greeted by an unpleasant puddle from our little dog, who'd not been well for a few days, I ended up taking her to the vets where they checked her over and she was found to have Pancreatitis! A two night stay at the vets ensued which was the best place for her, but I did hate leaving her sorry little face looking at me saying "take me home please" 😢 Hope the outcome of this will be a positive, as I've missed her so much and hate for her to have to go through such an awful ordeal.
Sunday, after a late night at my god-daughter Esther's birthday party on Saturday night was very slow and rather lazy - feeling smug .com for bagging an invitation to middle daughter's house for a roast dinner - really nice not to have to cook, and even better to not have to wash the dishes! Feeling sad and rather deflated when I returned to an empty house on Sunday evening, resigned to the fact I would hopefully be picking my baby up in the morning and that she'd be spending another night at the vets. Imagine how happy I felt when the phone rang and the vet said Roxy had much improved so would be better off recuperating at home! I swiftly jumped in the car to fetch her - delighted with the lively little doggy who met me, quite the opposite to the sad little waif I had dropped off. (As I type this she's sitting next to me fast asleep) Bliss. 💗

A dress that works in my 40's and 50's! #chicandstylish #linkup
Happy Thursday my friends.
How are you all - is Over 50's blogging land good for you this week?
I've been having a really good one so far, with one evening out for our anniversary meal (see more below) and another with some of the children round for dinner. With a quiet weekend to look forward to I hope the weather stays nice and warm so I can enjoy the garden.
Last Friday hubby and I celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary. We left booking a table until the last minute so were unable to get booked at our favourite restaurant. We toyed with the idea of going somewhere else but both had our hearts set on Read's so decided to book for last Tuesday. We had a lovely evening anyway with him going to the pub with the boys and me going ballroom dancing with my bestie! We did meet for drinks after so it was all in all it was a great evening.
When you see our meals you'll understand why we waited to go there and not 'make do' with somewhere less exciting for a special occasion!

White Jeans & Yellow Blouse - Style Steal
Hi there. Hope you're all doing well.
In case you didn't know I'm on holiday with hubby, eldest daughter and her family. Last minute glitches with my net meant I was sent into panic mode having no internet to finish off my scheduled posts. I managed to gain a 'hotspot' from my phone - yes I was impressed to do this too - so with fingers crossed you should be reading this on Monday!
The third Monday of June means it's Style Steal time. Each month I try to emulate another persons style. Sometimes I copy an actual outfit, other times I wear the same colours and have also been know to copy a style or even a title!
Today's steal was linked on the #chicandstylish party. I liked it the moment I set eyes on it, and knew I would just HAVE to use it. Having got all the pieces already in my wardrobe it wasn't a hard one at all!

Everyday Wear - #chicandstylish #LINKUP
Morning my friends.
The count down is on, my weeks holiday is just around the corner. Unusually for me I have everything sorted that I want to take! I only need to pack and sort my toiletries then I'm ready to go!
With the weather in June definitely not playing fair, my holiday has come at the right time. Down-pours have been creating havoc with my photo taking, and lots of my summery clothes have been put on hold, making way for warm jeans and even boots on a couple of occasions! Come on mother nature give us a break and some warm sunshine. I do hope the weather in the Mediterranean is up to scratch I want to wear my new purchases. I'll be taking my camera with me, and want to try and get some great shots - stay tuned my friends.

Suits Me!
Hiya my friends.
How are you all?
Currently I'll be sipping cocktails by the pool laying in the sunshine topping up my tan! I just need one good reason not to go home - lol Please don't make me!
I've bought a couple of new pieces to take away with me, and seeing that my god-daughter is with me I'm hoping she be able to take a few shots in the idyllic surroundings so I can share them with you on the blog.
But today let's talk about reviving an extremely old outfit that's been patiently waiting at the back of my wardrobe. Having not seen the light of day for some years now I felt it was the right time to attempt to get back into my suit. Only trouble is it's gone the other way now and the trousers are too big for me! I bought this trousers suit back in 2012, although after having a conversation with Esther I thought I bought it in the 90's - the memory isn't all that good then eh!

Black, Mustard and an Eye Catching Jacket.
Hello and welcome to the blog today.
What have you over fifty bloggers been up to?
Another long weekend to enjoy - here's what I've been up to.
I've had a really girly weekend with my daughters, you see my hubby and the boys have been on the 'stag' weekend, and by the time you read this i'm hoping they get back safe and sound!
Saturday I managed to get loads done, trimming the hedge took little over an hour so I'm happy with that, left me more time to catch up on some YouTube videos, spent a bit of time playing around with my hair, and putting makeup on. Been nice to have a bit of me time!
Saturday evening was spent with my daughters and grand-kids eating takeaway and talking wedding.
Sunday we went for another dress fitting, it's all starting to feel REAL now, and I have to admit I'm a tad apprehensive at the thought of my middle daughter leaving home - albeit three roads away, but that's for me to deal with and work through. Sunday evening was a real treat as my gran-daughter came for a sleepover, luckily with Bank Holiday Monday and hubby still away, there was no school and enough room in the bed for the pair of us, this is obviously the plus side of having empty nest syndrome - grand-kids come along and fill the gap!! Whoopie!

Check out my checks!
Hi there my friends.
Is over fifty land being kind to you?
I've had another gruelling weekend in the garden, but it's finally starting to look good! I need a mixture of weather over the next few days - rain and sunshine to germinate the grass seeds - then the garden will be much easier to tackle.
Hubby and I recently installed a large shed which we put together - yes that was quite a feat if you'd have seen how big it is and probably funny to watch too. He's fitted lights, plugs, and shelving so last night we lit a fire to get rid of the off cuts, turned the rather old radio on and opened a couple of beers - we know how to 'rock and roll' on a Saturday night! 🤣
Both paying the price on Sunday morning with his knee hurting and my hands aching!!!
So onto Monday, the beginning of a shorter week in the UK with Good Friday being a Bank holiday, let's hope there wont be any more garden work to do so we can really enjoy the day off!!
Do you remember I've been clearing out my larger sized trousers, I needed them replaced, so that's what I've tried to do in recent weeks. I shopped the Zara sale a while ago and came home with these. I've wanted check trousers for ages, well since seeing lots of other bloggers wearing them really. Check (excuse the pun) out Nancy - Nancy's Fashion Style, Anna - Anna's Island Style & Suzanne - Crazy Blonde Life. I spotted these on the sale rail for £12 and took a chance that they'd fit. With crossed fingers at home I tried them on, yes they fitted really well - result, so I set about styling them.

Ted Baker in the Rain!
Morning my friends.
I'll be travelling home from my skiing weekend now, let's hope technology works and this post is published!
What have you all been up to? I've been on the slopes and will fill you in on my little adventure in the next week or so.
Shooting photos in the rain, is there anything more disheartening? Apologies in advance for the wet hair - (note to self take an umbrella next time I take shots in the rain). Lol

Third year of blogging! Zara Long Line Blouse + #chicandstylish #linkup
Hello my lovelies - how are you all?
Well there's no one more surprised than me that I've reached my third year of blogging, I popped back to view my first ever blog post - crikey how bad can one blog be??? It's awful, it's short, all over the show and very vague! I'm proud to see I've come on leaps and bounds. Please don't go visit, it really is s**t! Lol.
I made a point of planning this post way in advance because I managed to miss my 2nd blog-aversary so wanted to make darn sure I didn't miss this one! I got so involved with blogging last year that I didn't notice what date it was (not that I knew when it was) so the anniversary came and went. That's not happening this year - I've got flowers, the fizz and lots of fun ideas! 😂
Happy blog-aversary to me! Mummabstylish has been alive for THREE WHOLE YEARS!!!

Lounging around in a Lounge suit - #chicandstylish #linkup
Morning all.
Everything going well in the land of Mummb blogging. I've been having a lazy few days, which were much needed I must say. The past few weeks have gradually slowed down and I've been able to concentrate a little more on blogging without feeling guilty that I should be doing something else.
I've been taking advantage of wearing this lounge suit to sit back and unwind in.
Now I have to hold my hands up to say I'm off skiing again for the weekend so this will come in handy for my Apres ski antics. I'm off with hubby for a cheeky little jaunt to the ski resort of Valmorel to enjoy the slopes one more time this year - that's if the kids let us out the country! ha ha ha!

Style Steal - 400th post!
Welcome to the 400th Mummabstylish blog post! Quite a feat in my book. With many highs and lows, I'm actually rather proud of my little baby, my fashion from an over fifty point of view & even though there's been times I wondered why I'm bothering - I actually love what I'm doing, it's given me my identity back so for the foreseeable future I'm staying put!
I'm off shopping today, going to check out what's new and hot. Will be posting on my IG stories so do take a look. I need to find accessories for the green dress I've purchased for the wedding I'm attending next month. I think I might go for nude, but will see what grabs my attention.
Another busy weekend working in the garden on Saturday, we're hosting our daughters wedding in May so the garden needs to be in tip top condition which means cutting and shaping the boundary hedges to a more manageable height, along with flattening more of the garden ready for grass seed. We're having a marquee with all the trimmings, & since the new year it's becoming very real. We will be celebrating a wedding and seeing our daughter move on - yikes! I've got to fit in mother of the bride dress shopping, and I've not got an iota of what styles or colours I want so will be starting with a blank sheet! You'll all be the first to know when I eventually do find 'the outfit'.
Today is also the Mummabstylish Style Steal. With so much inspiration from your blogs it was hard to chose a candidate. Who do you think I've copied this month?

Skiing, Ballet and Ballroom + #chicandstylish #linkup
Hi there - hope you over fifty fashion bloggers are well.
Happy Valentines day to you all too!
Not something I participate in as I feel I don't need a special day to celebrate my 'beau' but love hearing stories from people who do - so good luck and 'carry on valentine-ing' my friends. Mwahh 💋
What I do join in with is #linkup's and it just so happens my #Chicandstylish is live right now so do add a post of two.
This is what you might call a 'catch up post'. With the busy times I've had since Christmas all these occasions have been on my blogging 'to do' list since then!

This is what you might call a 'catch up post'. With the busy times I've had since Christmas all these occasions have been on my blogging 'to do' list since then!

Style Steal - Snakeskin with a side of Mustard!
Good morning, how's it going?
As we speak I'll be elegantly gliding down the blue runs of Tignes in the French Alpes, smoothly sliding into the mountain restaurants for a warming hot chocolate or vin chaud and practising my French for "where's the Apres Ski" ha ha! I love skiing and can complete a red run without too much resting on my bum! I hate leaving the slopes early and quite often look for a party member who's up for another jaunt down the slopes before stealing an hour's nap. The evening meal is always eagerly awaited by everyone, ravenous after using so much energy on the mountain. The wine goes down really well too! Look out for the post in the next few weeks.
It's the monthly Style Steal today, I missed out December's because it fell right in the middle of Christmas. It's been hovering on my 'to do' list for a while, but have only just managed to get the photos done - thanks to Esther Ruby. X

Check trousers from Krisp.
Hiya, how are you over fifty bloggers doing?
How's your Christmas shopping going? Are you an 'I've got everything already' or 'I'm leaving it until Christmas Eve' person? Me... I'm somewhere in between! I've bought a few pieces already, but still have a mountain of presents to decide on, buy and wrap, although I'm making a concerted effort to get most of them done this week, I hate struggling nearer the time and vow every year not to put myself through a difficult run up to the festive period. I'll keep you posted how I get on!
Tartan, check or plaid, whatever you call it, it's in fashion! Everyone is wearing it in some form or another! So I was pleased to receive these grey check trousers from Krisp recently.
Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Denim Shirt over Leopard Print Skirt .
Morning to you all and hope you've had a great weekend!
Christmas has definitely started in Mummab's household - we put our Christmas decorations up and how fun & festive they look. I just love seeing all the decorated trees, baubles and lights throughout the house. We've had to buy more lights to hang outside as our old ones were … old and broken! Along with these I'm buying a couple of Christmas trees to place either side of my front door. Since we tidied it up in the summer there's a space to display them. I go all gooey eyed when I see the decs up, who else likes to turn the main lights off and look at the tree through squinty eyes - or is it just me?
I thought I'd show another of my pieces from Krisp Clothing today. I received this leopard print stretchy pencil skirt* & after searching through Pinterest for a few ideas, came up with this one.

Keen as Mustard - Style not Age Fashion Collective.
Hi there, how are you all.
This over fifty fashion blogger is back to reality with a big, cold, damp bump! I almost, yes I did say almost, wish I'd not been away to a hot & sunny destination. Doesn't is always feel even colder when you take a sunny holiday in cooler seasons? My heating is most definitely on as are my socks and gloves!
The latest challenge fell into the hands of Hilda, I'd love you to read on to find out how the ladies from the Style not Age collective attacked November's challenge 'Keen as Mustard'.
Are you keen on the latest colour trend? Yes I'm talking about firery amber yellow. I've always liked this colour, but only in recent years worn it. It actually mixes well with so many other shades, I've paired it with cobalt blue not once or twice but three times, also covered in little flowers & an old faithful jacket.
The hot spicy colours are taking centre stage in the fashion industry for AW, and mixed together make for hot combinations. I'm seeing mustard, shades of red & mahogany, sienna red and russet, all topped off with brown or tan accessories......
