Hope you’ve had a great few days since we last got together.
I’ve had a fairly busy weekend, so didn’t end up helping in the new build which was a shame. I took one of my grandsons to his football match which was only up the road. Fortunately this week they won 11 - 1 and he scored one of the goals so he was very happy with himself. I came home to do a bit of ironing before getting ready to go to my daughter’s house for her son’s 4th birthday. She prepared hotdogs with crispy bacon and fried onions, with some chips and onion rings. There was also birthday cake - it was a chocolate covered rice krispy stack, & yes it was yummy.
I didn’t do much yesterday. Only a clean in the AirBnb with Sophie before relaxing on the sofa for the rest of the day. We had a takeaway curry so no cooking for me. What did you get up to?
You might recall I mentioned I was at a press event last Thursday, so let me share my day with you at the Bonmarche Spring 26 preview.
Today’s post features a PR Event, however all comments are my own honest views.
I decided to catch the train up to London rather than drive and park up at the O2! It’s less stressful and a much more enjoyable way to travel into the city. I’d arrived by mid day and caught the tube to Charing Cross where I had to find a loo! I came out and was face to face with a stunning lady all dressed up and looking amazing. We looked at each other and for a split second I thought she was an actress and was about to say hello, have you ever met a celebrity and feel you know them already? I soon realised I did know her but had never met her before - she was another Instagram-er and was thinking the same as me! We said hello and immediately started chatting and literally got on like a house on fire, as I knew we would. There’s something very special about meeting someone you’ve followed on Instagram or their blog. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a few ladies who blog as well, you can read about my meeting in Liberty’s with Anna here along with when I met her, Gail & Annemarie for a trip on the London Eye.
So back to last Thursday. Tray had also come with another lady who I follow and before long the three of us we were having coffee in Covent Garden chatting about all things “gramming”, our hobbies and families. It became apparent we all had lots in common, top subject was of course fashion! We headed out and took some photos around Covent Garden. You can view this post featuring my afternoon in the Nomad Hotel here.
The hotel was just around the corner - opposite the Opera House. It was very grand with big chandeliers, ornate mirrors, dark wood furniture and exclusive ornaments, it really was a lovely venue.
There was plenty to see including the Lorraine Kelly and Lisa Snowdon edits for Christmas along with the new Spring collections, I saw quite a lot of pieces I’d love to have in my wardrobe. 👏 I met loads of other stunning ladies I follow who looked even more elegant in real life and before long were we all chatting, taking photos and generally exchanging snippets about our social media platforms. It certainly was an exciting experience, especially seeing what they were all wearing which was fabulous, I love to get inspiration and I came away with plenty of ideas.
It had been a bit of a conundrum what I should wear. It bemused my daughters who were with me that morning, both Emily and Sophie said with the amount of clothes I have it shouldn’t have been a problem at all. Maybe you can have too many clothes eh? Do tell me if you have that issue?
As you can see I wore red cropped wide leg trousers with a brown silky shirt, my tan faux suede jacket and my gorgeous new red boots - I’ll be share them soon as they’re stunners. I also took my new brown suede crescent bag which finished the outfit off nicely. 🤎
It was also lovely to meet the ladies from the PR company who invited me, as well as the friendly staff from Bonmarche who I chatted to for ages. It was nice to find out about the collections being shown and I felt really pleased to have met the people behind the emails and messages.
I just had to take a photo of this two piece as it was gorgeous and I’ll be wanting this come the spring for sure. 🤍
Great to have you stop by today, don’t forget to join me on Thursday for the linkup.
Until then have a fab few days.
Byeee X
