Good to have you stop by.
How's your first week of the new month going?
Mine is all good, and I've been having a clear out since I got back from Sicily. I've sent loads to charity and have added a couple of bits to my Vinted account - trouble is as soon as I sell stuff and get a bit of profit I find something on there and buy it!! Do you have that trouble too?
Last month I had a something really nice happen. I'd been asked by a friend who owns a photography studio if I'd like to help her branch out from the usual Boudoir shoots she does. We'd been talking about having something less raunchy and less revealing and both agreed there'd be a lot of ladies who'd quite like to have an experience like this so started to set it in motion. I'd decided, with the help of Alison, to look for some suitable outfits and over the course of the following weeks got my studio outfits ready.
I'd studied some accounts on Instagram and noted ripped jeans, slouchy cardigans and fur jackets seemed to be a nice combination along with glimpses of underwear, nothing too revealing I have to add. I wanted some photos that were classy not overly sexy.
Today’s post was gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.
Have you ever thought about or had a glamorous photo shoot? I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve done!
Since losing some weight (just over a stone on Keto) and reaching 61 I felt I needed to do something to prove I’m not fading into the background. I know I blog and have various social media sites but having something like this was just what I needed. I wanted to re-capture my youth and mark my age showing how I look - don't think I look too bad for 61 eh?
Alison from Red Bow Photography was just so professional. I was greeted on arrival by Alison and Kelly - the make-up artist who not only transformed my face but styled my hair too. They both made me feel relaxed and at ease and before long I was showing them my outfit choices and workout what settings to use along with what lighting was needed. Her studio is well equipped. She's got sofas, beds, chairs, rugs mirrors & candles all around with plants and soft lighting strategically placed which look stunning. She also has lots of lingerie outfits and tulle gowns, all of which look amazing in the photos I've seen but none of those were what I was looking for. They also have a rather risque area which can be set up like a shower scene complete with bubbles and water - needless to say I didn't use any of that, but I've seen photographs and if that's what you're after make really stunning shots - would you have anything like that?
So let's tell you a little bit about the clothes I took. I knew I wanted to wear jeans, but because I always wear them wanted them to be a bit different. I'd bought some ripped jeans that had tears at the knees. They fitted nicely and had button fastenings. I took a white body suit which I did wear with the jeans and for some of the photos had a long sleeve sheer top over it, these came out really well and the lighting Alison set up was amazing. My crochet cardigan was another brilliant addition. I wore it over some new underwear and although it can be seen, I feel, looks flattering and quite creative. We didn't bother with the fur jacket as Alison said it can look quite bulky in pictures (that’s a big no from me) so turned to the black underwear with my slouchy black cardigan over the top which we pulled down over my shoulders - a nice way to bring out my feminine side without being too blatant. I must say it was good fun to relax and enjoy the setting with Alison guiding me through the session and I loved it. It was also really interesting to watch how she sets the lighting up and how she uses things as props. I was shocked to see she only uses basic lights and candles but obviously has an amazing camera so she can create magic in the photos. I had an absolutely brilliant time and before long it was all over!
I went back earlier this week to view the shots and again Alison went through everything clearly, explaining exactly what she was doing through the process. I picked the photos I liked and she sent them to me straight away on an app on my phone which I can share with David and anyone else who I want to see them. It's a super way to see the photos when I want to and I can also share them or download them if I wanted to have any blown up in frames on the wall. Do you have any photos like that in your house?
So my experience of this glamorous photo shoot was brilliant, I'd definitely recommend anyone who's thinking of doing it to just go for it. You'll love the end results and if you're in my neck of the woods do give Alison a look and consider using her professional skills, whether your wanting a glamorous shoot or a boudoir session you won't be disappointed!
