Style not Age show how to Belt Up!

Hello, nice to have you follow along.
Hope you’ve had a super weekend.

Hasn’t the weather been strange.  We’ve had sleet, rain, wind and sunshine - all in one day last week. It’s got a bit warmer which is nice but who knows what it’ll be like this week!
I’ve been working in the house over the past couple of days. David and I have been laying floor boards on the first floor so it’s getting ready for first fix electrics and plumbing to get going. David and I have also been planning the rooms, you know where we want lights, plugs and switches along with what layout we should have for the bathrooms and en-suite. There’s lots to think about but we’re very alike so it’s not been a problem as we tend to agree on most things.

… that belts were going to be a thing for AW25.

It’s the last Monday of the month, so time to welcome my friends from Style not Age for our monthly challenge. This month it was my turn to choose and I’ve gone with this prompt as I know these are trending this season. So get settled for the theme …

Belt Up!

I usually check before the season arrives as to what is going to be fashionable for the new season and found, among a few other trends that caught my eye, that belts were going to be a thing for AW25. So seeing as I love adding a belt to an outfit, felt it would make a great post.

This season belts have moved from being a functional accessory to a fashionable statement. They’ve been seen on many of the fashion shows showing the key styles to be wide corset belts, which could be used to cinch in coats and dresses alike. Low slung belts were also favoured on the catwalks which gives a nod to the 80’s, I’ve yet to join that trend after enjoying it first time around in my youth. Fortunately for those who like minimalist looks the thin more discreet styles are very popular too, for a subtle way to pull an outfit together. So it seems belt fashion will have you trending however you prefer to wear them!

Let’s talk you through my attire today.
I started with my wider brown belt that’s I bought from Shein a while back. It was a bit small for me but since shedding a few pounds it now fits me nicely. It’s kind of a double belt style in a faux leather it can also be worn round the other way which looks quite nice with a dress.
I wanted you to see the front detail so wore it over this double layer look.

This brown dress has short capped sleeves so I topped it with a new long sleeve shiny top from Bonmarche. It’s really long and more like a tunic style *so worked really well with the belt to cinch it in. The plisse fabric is a festive brown which has a lurex shine over it. I find this fabric really quite flattering and looks great on. It has ballon sleeves that catch in at the cuff with elastic making them comfortable and easy to wear. It’ll be a flattering little top which will be just perfect for the holiday period where it can be worn with jeans or a festive sparkly skirt. It’s also available in gold and is offered for the purse friendly price of £16!! What a bargain!

I grabbed the bead and wood necklace that I’ve worn loads before, looks a statement don’t you think? I also added my new boots, but I’ll show and tell more about them soon. Watch out for these beauties. 🤎

Let’s take a peek at what my three friend's chose to wear.

First welcome Hilda - Over the Hilda, who’s wearing a comfy casual cinched in with a super cute all of which is shopped from her wardrobe. Pop over to find out more details.

Next it’s Emma’s pick. She opted for High Street picks along with a stunning old belt that’s a real statement. You can find out all the details on her blog Style Splash

To finish the post it’s Anna’s turn. Hear how Anna ended up with this outfit on her blog Anna’s Island Style.

Thanks so much for coming to see me and the blog today.
Have a super weekend and I’ll see you on Thursday for the last linkup of November.
Cheerio for now. X
