You okay?
Hope you’ve had a super week, have you had good weather? We’ve had it a bit hotter and somewhat humid so on Friday night we had one almighty storm! We turned the lights off and watched the lightening light up the sky as if it was daytime! The claps of thunder signed it was right above us at times but fortunately we didn’t have too much rain so no danger of flooding. Of course by the next morning apart from a few puddles there was no sign of anything happening!
I went to a party on Saturday night. It was my best friends’s 60th celebrations and she had an enchanting garden party complete with pretty flowers and fairy lights.
It was a lovely evening chatting with old friends and finding new ones - the ones you feel you already know because you’ve heard so much about them! We dancing ate and drank until the early hours and succumbed to the tired feelings that enveloped us all catching a taxi at 1 am! Wow what a way to celebrate your 60th but I needed the slow day on Sunday to recoup and get back to normal!
Always there to share good and bad times with a friendship that has never wained!
I wore this maxi dress but should have taken a little jacket with me as the wind didn’t retreat in the afternoon and made it seem so much colder. The food was delicious, I took a homemade pรขtรฉ which went down really well - I’ve got some orders in for Christmas already! ๐
You might remember I’ve know my best friend since we were 13 & 12! We met in a tap dancing examination. I learnt with the same teacher in a different location and were the only students doing the exam! So once we’d go through all the exercises we had to do a dance. We’d decided that because we started in a different place we couldn’t be doing the same dance and set about doing it separately, imagine how funny it was when the music was the same and we were, in fact doing the same dance!! Firm friendships were made then and there and we became inseparable! Our lives have followed the same paths, nights out, dancing shows, college, work, boyfriends, laughter, tears, getting into trouble and finding husbands with the never ending supply of extended family fun. We are both god-parents to each other’s children and my husband was best man and Alicia was my bridesmaid. Always there to share good and bad times with a friendship that has never wained!
Saturday night was filled with so much fun and so many laughs & we are both extremely thankful for our continued friendship that goes from strength to strength, we will always be there for each other & I can’t wait to share the next years together and also the next bottle of fizz!! ๐
I wore a maxi dress which is the one that’s very swishy!
You might recall I said it would be good to dance in and I put it to good use on Saturday night, my knees certainly paid the price yesterday, I could hardly walk! ๐คญ
