60th Birthday Celebrations.

Hiya ๐Ÿ‘‹
You okay?

Hope you’ve had a super week, have you had good weather? We’ve had it a bit hotter and somewhat humid so on Friday night we had one almighty storm! We turned the lights off and watched the lightening light up the sky as if it was daytime! The claps of thunder signed it was right above us at times but fortunately we didn’t have too much rain so no danger of flooding. Of course by the next morning apart from a few puddles there was no sign of anything happening!

I went to a party on Saturday night. It was my best friends’s 60th celebrations and she had an enchanting garden party complete with pretty flowers and fairy lights.
It was a lovely evening chatting with old friends and finding new ones - the ones you feel you already know because you’ve heard so much about them! We dancing ate and drank until the early hours and succumbed to the tired feelings that enveloped us all catching a taxi at 1 am! Wow what a way to celebrate your 60th but I needed the slow day on Sunday to recoup and get back to normal!

Always there to share good and bad times with a friendship that has never wained!

I wore this maxi dress but should have taken a little jacket with me as the wind didn’t retreat in the afternoon and made it seem so much colder. The food was delicious, I took a homemade pรขtรฉ which went down really well - I’ve got some orders in for Christmas already! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Another Spring Dress from Izabel.

Good morning.
How are you?
Well this week just ran away from me, I’ve woken up today and realised no blog post!
So here’s a hasty catch, up with stunning spring dress to share.
Yesterday was my eldest daughter’s birthday. We popped over to see her and had a couple of drinks to celebrate but came home early to have dinner, so that was a quiet affair. Today I’ve a couple of errands to run and then I’m looking after Max as his mum and dad are out this afternoon seeing a show in London. I hope the weather improves as he loves playing in the garden. We might go to the park if it’s warmer - as there more to do and again, he loves it.
I went into town on Saturday to change a couple of bits. I’m trying to find the best pair of barrel leg trousers and after finding some from Next but thinking they’re a tad snug, took them back & found another pair in M&S. They’ve come up great but have quite a baggy section on the back which I don’t like. I might take some photos to see how they look but maybe change them for a smaller size! My Keto diet has really worked as I’m a stone lighter and possibly getting into a size 10, albeit from Marks & Spencer which offer generous sizes, but I’m taking it!

So today I’m sharing a stylish maxi from Izabel London.
I’ve added items to dress it up and make it suitable for Spring dressing when the weather is still cold.

Spring Maxi Dress from Izabel.

Good morning, thanks for joining me on Easter Bank Holiday Monday.
I do hope you’ve had a super long weekend, I certainly have!

After a really busy week, the weekend was hectic too!
I keep waiting for things to die down, but there’s always something by to do! Are you the same?
Friday went quickly ending with my usual ballroom class. We finished learning a tango routine and it’s another I fell I love with. In the afternoon I went to my nephew’s house to enjoy a birthday celebration for his little boy, it’s nice to share time with my sister and her family and we took full advantage of catching up with my nieces and nephews.

Saturday morning was a bit of a nightmare, well I got myself up and ready early and had planned to go into town to change a couple of bits. I’d been so occupied with making sure I’d got change of clothes for working at my MIL’s house and also planning the food for the following day I managed to forget the bits I was going to take back!! Yes I had to return home to collect said items and head back into town! I was furious with myself! I keep doing silly things like this and am worried I might have a problem! Anyone else do stupid things like this?

On Sunday after a clean at the Airbnb, I prepared food for our roast turkey dinner. Eighteen of us enjoyed a roast with all the trimmings and I put my diet on hold devouring everything I shouldn’t! I certainly paid for it in the evening as my tummy wasn’t happy at all! There’s something to be said for following a certain diet and veering off piste isn’t as good as it seems to be. I’m back on the diet today and am starting to feel much better. The diet I’m following is keto which means no carbs, I included potatoes, roasted parsnips and various vegetables, some of which do have carbohydrates in them. Let’s not mention the chocolates and cakes I picked at though, if I don’t mention them then maybe I didn’t have them! ๐Ÿ˜‚
Today, will be a quiet one and although I’ve not planned dinner, it’ll definitely be keto friendly. Are you following a diet and did you go off plan over the holiday weekend?

I’ve found the perfect Spring Dress - Chic & Stylish Linkup.

Morning all.
How’s your week been?

I’m enjoying the warmer temperatures I must say, although the nights are still chilly and we’ve had some hard frosts here.
So as the weather has become a tad warmer and we’re heading ever closer to Spring I thought I’d share a pretty dress with you today. It’s going to be just right for a special occasion, an upcoming holiday or just to wear over Easter (maybe with a jacket/cardi or wrap).  You’re going to love this floral beauty as it’s a favourite of mine already. ๐ŸŒธ

Style Not Age share Dreamy Dresses.

Good morning
How are you?

All fine and dandy with me, I’ve literally forgotten about my holiday the other week. Back down to earth with a very big bump!  All the washing is done and put away until my next break which is to Portugal in September.

Warmer weather seems to have arrived and it's been lovely to sit in the garden and enjoy it!  On Saturday evening I went to a friends for a gin and buffet evening.  It was good to sit and chat in their lounge which has a big bi-fold door into the garden.  There's something enchanting about sitting outside on a Summer's night when it's warm, although we did have to close the doors when it got a bit cooler and the bugs started to arrive - I had enough bites on my holiday!  Did you catch my holiday edit?  I shared some of my dresses that I wore in Majorca and talking about dresses, this month's Style not Age is upon us and the title, set by moi, is ....
Dreamy Dresses.

May Review

Hi there.
How did your weekend go?
Welcome to the month of June, I certainly hope it lives up to expectations! We want some sunshine! ☀️

I’m getting very excited now as I’m off on holiday (the first since last May, excluding my weekend on The Isle of Wight), to Majorca with my eldest and her family. I know it’s going to be a hectic 10 days, but I can’t wait to relax in the sunshine, enjoy some cocktails, and delicious food along with enjoying the company of my daughter and SIl and their family of four. We’ve stayed at this hotel a couple of times previously so I know where everything is and am familiar with the surroundings, isn’t that always nice when you’ve got kids with you. Just incase of any emergencies etc.

Today as it’s the first Monday of the month it’s time to cast our minds back to view what I wore last month for the …
May Review.

If you saw last Thursday’s post you’ll have seen I was showing off a blazer from Bonmarch’s new collection. Well this post promotes another garment namely a glorious chiffon blouse.

Layering over a Summer Dress.

Hello and thanks for joining me today.
What did your weekend bring?

The rain on Saturday curtailed any outings for me. I’d wanted to visit a couple of stores for an upcoming event next week, but the horrible rain put me off so I stayed indoors all day! I actually watched a film before watching the rugby (that was a shame as England lost to RSA 15 - 16), the film was called Hidden Figures. It was about 3 African-American mathematicians who were pivotal in the Astronaut John Glenn’s launch into space! They had to deal with racial and female discrimination too! Such an interesting film and all the more poignant because it’s based on real life events - love a film like that.
Sunday was quite the opposite weather-wise and was brilliant sunshine, I still spent the day on the sofa when not preparing and cooking dinner - roast beef for me and yes it was very tasty!

I wore this outfit last week when it wasn’t raining! I wanted to show you how you can still enjoy Summer dresses when the weather is cooler and damper!

Mellow Yellow Maxi Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello there my lovely blogging friends.
How are you all doing?

It's been lovely to enjoy some warmer weather over the past couple of days, even had the roof off my car and soaked up the sunshine whilst I was driving around.  Hubby bought me a new car for our anniversary last month and my convertible has been a joy to drive, I must admit I am a very spoiled & lucky lady. ๐Ÿ’•

I've also been lucky enough to style another item from the Bonmarche website too!  Take a look at this super classic maxi dress.*  I seem to be drawn to a yellow maxi dress as I've got two in my wardrobe already!  See this one I wore to the beach in the UK and one I wore in Spain.  To me a sunny lemon shade brings on the sunshine for the dreary days we often have in the UK, and I adore wearing it on holiday too.  I do hope we can start getting away safely soon, I can't tell you how much I long to get away, I'm sure I'm not the only one.  Have you booked a trip abroad yet?

Maxi Dress for Beach Days!

Morning from a very excited Mummabstylish!
Finally we are beginning to see light at the end of a very long tunnel!
Lock-down is starting to ease here, with shops, pubs and restaurants opening today. Hurrah!!!!
Obviously with masks, distancing and outdoor service, but at least it's a start in the right direction.
I can't wait to go shopping.  It will be nice to browse the stores and really look at the clothes before actually buying them, it'll be interesting to see just what the shops have in though eh!
I also can't wait for the gym to open.  You may know I started doing the Couch to 5K and have been quite successful, but I'm a people person and love to interact.  Also I'm tactile, so that might be a bit of a problem! Lol.
The hair salon's are also opening today and I have an appointment booked for 22nd and literally can't wait.  I've been trimming my fringe, but can't quite do it like my stylist, so I'm ticking off the days until Thursday week!!
We've had two family birthdays so far this month - with four more in the next couple of weeks!  I do pray the weather improves for garden parties.  You might have seen the cakes my daughter Little Berry Bakes made for them.  They went down really well, one was Spider-man themed the other Pirates!

Did you read about my latest dress from Bonmarche last week?  I've another beauty to share with you today too.
It's a maxi and will be flattering addition to my wardrobe for sure.
