My Holiday Edit - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there everyone, how are you doing?
Are you managing in the heat?
It's still hot here in the UK although some days are more muggy and humid than blazing sunshine. I have to admit I've managed to keep topping the tan up which I love, little and often is a good policy for tanning!
I've been an excited Mummab this week as we have finally started our new build.  When we bought our house over 10 years ago we had plans to knock it down and build two new houses!  For various reasons we had put that on the back burner but last Monday everything was in place for the building to start.
You can't imagine (unless you've built your own) all the tests, checking, plans and paperwork that goes into building new properties.  However the hard work has just started as my husband does a lot of the work himself!  I'm quite hands-on too and like to get involved when I can.  Just today I was sawing planks of wood to make some shuttering. It was a big electric saw and I'm actually really proud of what I did!

My recent holidays now seem to be a distant memory.  It doesn't take long to get back to normal once the suitcases and holiday clothes are packed away.  All the washing and ironing has been done and I'm dreaming of my next break which, hopefully isn't too far away!
Today I thought it would be nice to re-live some memories and share some of the dresses I wore to Majorca.
The first is one of my favourites, a super cute green tee shirt midi.
This is one of the first times I've ever worn this shade, but boy I can tell you I'll be wearing it again!
I picked this up in Peacocks just before my trip to Majorca, it was a bit of a last minute buy and I'm so glad I did.  I've dressed it up and down and it looks great for both! It's in the sale now for a tenner - amazing value!

A white dress has to be the perfect thing to pack for your hols.  Mine is a maxi length and looks good with heels and trainers alike.  I chose sandals on my recent trip, which kept a feminine feel going.  Being cotton it kept me nice and cool & the only accessory I needed was my 3 strand necklace that's on a fine and clear wire - it looks like the beads are floating!  You can see when I wore this prior to my visit to Majorca & also appreciate the versatility when I wore it with my jean jacket here.

Are you a fan of colour clashing?  Shades that aren't supposed to 'go' together but actually look great.
Well what do you think of orange and pink together?  I absolutely love it.  I wore these shades years ago to my daughters christening (she's 30 now).  Found that fashionable two piece in Wallis & loved wearing it.  I felt it looked amazing on too!  So you can see why I was the same about this smock dress when I saw it, it’s identical colours.
This one came from Peacocks (when I bought the green one above) and I was surprised at how nice it looked on.  It's a little shorter than I would normally go for, but I'm really pleased how it looks - what do you think my friends?  I was also happy with the price tag, it's £20 and worth every penny.  It washes beautifully and hardly needs any iron making it a brilliant addition to your holiday bag!

No you're not going mad, you will have seen my jumpsuit on the blog the other week.  It's a fun outfit that was quite hot to wear so I'll have to pick my moments when to wear it again.  For all the details do stop back via this link to read all about it.

You might just remember this tropical jumpsuit.  If you draw you mind back to August 2019 you will have seen me styling this with some fun yellow sandals.  Wash after wash, wear after wear it still looks like new!  As you would imagine this is not available now, but I've done some searching and found this one very similar from Shein!

Another oldie but certainly a goodie.  I bought this fitted dress for my daughter's hen weekend in Spain and it's had a couple of outings since then.  A slip dress never really goes out of fashion does it. This has been dressed up with heels more often than worn with flats, but both look super and by adding a jean jacket with trainers you get an edgy street look.
Do pop back to see when I wore if before with a striking bead necklace and trendy red bag!
I found this copy on the Dorothy Perkins site, do be quick as they are selling fast. X

My next dress was the alternative to the above black slip dress I wanted to wear one night in Majorca.  The evening we had planned called for a bit more of a casual look so I picked this bright floral tea dress when we went go-karting.  I was only watching but felt my LBD was a bit OTT - tell me ... would you have worn it my friends?

Congrats to getting the house underway. I am sure it is quite taxing building your own, but look at you getting involved! I am not handy in that way!

  12. Each and every one of your looks is fabulous! And, yes, you should definitely wear more of that green, and no, that floral dress is not too short! I don't know that I would have worn the black slip dress go-carting, but you look spectacular in it so you should definitely wear it somewhere!! Thanks for the link party!!
