Styling my Fleece Lined Leggings from Lovall.

Hello it’s great to have you here. 

Well hasn’t it been cold!

I’ve been freezing all the time, well unless I’m wrapped up in my bed! It’s all been about layers for me and these dreamily warm leggings from Lovall Leggings have been a godsend, I excited to share them below.  How are you coping with the weather. Isn’t it crazy how lots of places are struggling with awfully cold weather and others are in a terrible predicament of the wild fires! My heart goes out to the poor people in America who are facing this catastrophe. 

My weekend went well and wasn’t too busy. On Saturday I took my grandson to the cinema. We watched Sonic the Hedgehog 3, he loved it and although it wasn’t my sort of film I had a brilliant time with him.  I’ve been doing presents for the grandkids a little bit of a different way in recent years, so rather than getting them a big expensive present I like to take them out and do something special on their own. I took Amelia to see Frozen with her mum and my other daughters, I took Freddie to the cinema and also swimming in a local private pool and last year I took Peyton to the cinema too. 

After the cinema, where we loaded up with sweets and a slush drink we went to McDonalds for burgers. I throughly enjoy my one to one’s (well a bit more of us with Amelia) and plan to do this sort of thing a lot more with the rest of the kids. ❤️

Sunday was a lazy day, avoiding the cold by staying in with the heating on. We had a nice roast chicken with a tray bake of various roasted vegetables which made a lovely alternative to a traditional roast dinner, do you like to go “off piste” for Sunday dinners sometimes?

Hi there everyone. 

Is your week going well?

Just normal stuff for me with Max’s birthday yesterday which was the highlight!  He’s 2 and I can’t believe how quickly the past two years have gone. He’s living with me, along with his mum and dad as their house is still being extended. Therefore, yes it was a mad house with all the family and a few friends calling in on the afternoon. We had easy to prepare hotdogs, chips and onion rings washed down with beers (for the boys) and Prosecco … for me and my daughters. We had a chocolate and kinder cake which was so tasty and made by my daughter … Little Berry Bakes … you’ve seen her cakes but in case you haven’t here’s a link to her IG account. 

I’ve started to think about Christmas now and am seriously considering putting the decorations up this weekend - too early? Nah not for me I love to see them covering the house and making everything festive. I also want to do some table scaping - is that a word? I think so. I understand it’s making the dinning table all pretty and Christmassy, any pointers or ideas greatly appreciated. When do you put your decs up? 

Are you a fan of stripes?

I rather enjoy adding them to an outfit and feel a Parisian vibe whenever I don them. I was excited to receive this striking knitted jumper the other week and could not wait to style it because stripes always look fashionable eh? Do let me know your thoughts on my banded beauty.

My New Jogger Set - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello how are you?

Hope you're doing okay.

I'm a very happy Mummabstylish because my new build is underway and starting to look like a house.

The builders have gotten us to first floor level and the next step of steels and floor joists is in the lap of my hubby David.  He's a very talented man and can turn his hand to lots of things.  We've built our own house before and he's also helped build many homes under the help & guidance of a good friend. It's exciting for him to project build our own property and what he doesn't know he finds out and usually ends up doing it very well.  

If you'd like to see the progress so far do follow along on my other IG account purely for the new build in our garden.   I hope you'll agree my enthusiasm is founded!

I've hardly bought any new clothes recently, have you? I've been waiting for the Spring styles to arrive.  I'm excited to see what's going to be included and have yet to see what's creeping into the shops and haven't actually seen anything online either.  Do tell if you've got anything new yet! 

I have, however, bought myself a lovely trouser suit.  It's actually beige!  I know, I know I should be steering away from shades like this, as I don't want to become invisible.  I do have big plans for it though.  I fancy styling it with bright bold accessories like orange or green and have some stunning additions to style it with already.  Do watch out for this one, I'm sure it's going to be a winner.  Until I share it, do let me show off a wonderful jog suit I bought recently, it's from H & M as well!

How the heck are you?

Have you got into the festive mood yet?  I'm definitely getting full of Christmas spirit and most probably plenty of Prosecco and Jager's too!  I've had a weekend in Germany and will be travelling home today, let's hope the power of a scheduled post works and this is published!

November Review.

At the beginning of November I was just getting over a really horrible chest infection, it was so bad I needed antibiotics which is almost unheard of for me.  I'm very lucky and seem to get over colds and coughs really easily, but what started with a sore throat, cough and cold ended up in a full blown chest infection.  Anyway I digress.  

I went out for lunch with my sister and our mum for her birthday treat.  We dined at a local venue having two courses and a couple of glasses of fizz.  We had a super few hours and as usual put the world to rights as we ate and drank.  I wore this snazzy Geo print dress that's covered in bright, bold shades of blue, black and cream.  Do pop back and find out all about it.

Birthday's, Ballet Results and Bardot Styles - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

How's it going?

I'm on the count down to my birthday, it's only 3 days away! Not that I want to be another year older, but I want to spend time with my family and friends.  Like all of you, lock-down has scuppered any plans to get together over the last two years, so with all the rules lifted I'm hoping my family will be round to celebrate with a drink or two! 😉  

On Saturday I'm off to another wedding with hubby.  My daughter is bridesmaid to one of her oldest friends and it's been lovely to be included in the celebrations.  I've got a couple of dresses in mind, and also a new one has been ordered (hope it comes in time) from the company that sent me this one I wore to the wedding last week. 

The blue lace dress I've been planning to wear has been hanging on the rail since the first and only time I wore it - it was to my niece's wedding way back in 2017, but as it's a classic style I know it wouldn't look out of place - but as I've still not tried in on (I've lost weight and put on weight and lost again since) I don't know if it will fit!!

Don't worry I'll let you know which one I chose to wear.

I need to tell you about my ballet exam result.  Do you remember I did an adult ballet exam a few weeks ago?  Well I managed to get honours with a score of 89!!! As you can imagine I'm elated to achieve this, especially only training once a week and being over 50!  Just goes to show anything is possible and you're never too old to try something new!

Anyway back to dresses, let me share one I've got earmarked for my upcoming holiday to Majorca.  Have I mentioned we are going with ALL THE KIDS AND THEIR FAMILIES in June????

It's going to be an interesting one for sure and I'm anticipating all of us being THAT family that people want to avoid - lol!  I'm setting a few ground rules before we travel and I'm hoping for a row free happy holiday - stay tuned for that outcome in July!!!

An Everyday Look - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

How's you week going?

Not much to report from the past few days, been helping with the school run, seeing the grand-kids, going to gym classes and generally just chilling out.  Hubby has been rather busy in the garden - you see we have plans for a two new builds on our property - it's a big plot with a really old house on it and loads of grass (hence I'm always cutting it and moaning about who needs lots of grass).  So he's been building a hard-standing for all the materials we will need, plus he's tidied up the area I'm calling a patio.  We have a lovely set of rattan furniture and it will look super on the new area until the new house is built. 

So with no shopping recently I've been shopping my wardrobe and wearing old faithfuls.  Do let me know what you think of my look today, you've seen all the pieces before, but maybe not in this way.

If I were a Handbag for Style Not Age.

Good morning my friends.  

How are you?

All good here, just had a wonderful weekend with the family.

Did you see my IG on Friday?  Well my youngest son did the most amazing thing.  He's been growing his hair for the last couple of years, with the end goal to donate his locks to the Little Princess Trust.  They use the hair to create wigs for children who've lost their hair due to cancer or another condition.

I have to say I'm hugely proud of him and what he's done.  He's now completely bald!  Do pop over to see him, and maybe even make a donation!

I'm also waiting for the arrival of my grandchild, (unless they arrived since I edited this post) I'm so excited and full of wonder as to whether we're blessed with a boy or a girl and what they will look like.

Today is the last Monday of the month, which means it's time to take a look at what the ladies from the Style Not Age  group have been styling.

This month it's been Anna's turn to give us a prompt and she went with quite a teaser .....

"If I were a Handbag..."

I did find this one rather hard at first and couldn't come up with anything, bit silly I know as I have so many handbags to my name.  I finally realised a handbag really does emulate a person.  You see I've always wanted to be one of those people who have a small and neat bag with little compartments and everything in the right place.  I even bought one of those inner bags so everything can be transferred from bag to bag, but the sizes never worked for me.  I've come to the conclusion I'm a big-chuck-it-all-in kind of bag person.  I know it's in there I just have to find it. I'm the lady with everything in her bag.  Always have a tissue, pen, hair band, tampon (when needed) and the odd safety pin and sticky sweet! Lol.

To be totally honest I do love a leather bag, there's something about the smell isn't there.  I was chuffed to receive this beauty I'm styling for today's post - it's very me and you can find out more about it later!
