What to wear for a 60th Birthday Party.

How was your weekend?

Absolutely fabulous one for me! I went to a friend’s 60th party on Saturday night, which was a surprise one. Just a lovely bunch of people with some excellent food and plenty of drinks flowing. It wasn’t a late night but such good fun. I wanted to wear a recent purchase from Vinted but felt it might have been a bit too ott and ended up wearing my favourite white trousers with an old floaty cotton top. I had been looking for a mink crochet top I wore years ago on The Orient Express, but upon looking I realised I must have given it away! It’s nowhere to be found in my wardrobe - shame as it was such a classic crochet top that would have been super cute with these trousers. 

Anyway this is what I ended up wearing. It’s been on the blog before but being such a classic look that’s been re-invented this year worked really well. 

I wasn’t sure exactly what to wear to this party. I always want to pop on a dress and add accessories to look quite over the top. However this event was more a house party and the dress wasn’t really the right vibe. So I decided to reach for my white wide leg trousers. I wore them out to dinner with my bestie back in June when I added a canary yellow top. 

White trousers are the best choice for Autumn because cooler weather calls for warmer clothes. But and it’s a big but … we still want to nod towards Summer styling. It’s not over yet. So long as the weather remains dry, white trousers or jeans can be a real winner. I’m on the lookout for white wide leg jeans and plan to take a look in H&M to find some. 

So these trousers are from River Island. I was so pleased to pick them up in my local store a few months ago for just under £30. It’s always worth checking out the sale rail, where I found these, as bargains are there to be had all the time! They’re my favourite style, wide leg trousers they also have a half elastic waistband and pockets. Great fit and perfect styling. 

The heels are a Vinted buy. You might remember I’ve had a favourite pair which I bought in Deichman years ago. These are very similar and probably better quality from Dune, and a bargain for a fraction of the price on my very special Vinted site. Do you buy from them?

I picked this pretty white and green cotton blouse. It’s a bit more floaty than I really wanted but felt really comfortable and quite cool too. The embroidery is very popular at the moment, I do hope it continues into the new season and maybe next year too. 

So my final additions for this look wear a mini tote bag which has a padded effect and cute ball detail handle. It fits nicely over the wrist to look like a bangle, but doubles as a little handbag. This Dune beauty is equalled by these new season styles here. 

I could have gone with either gold or silver jewellery. I ended up picking silver and wore these sparkly silver hoops. I found them on Vinted for under £5!! I’m loving to compliments they’ve received recently. Is this something you’d wear? Have a look at these that are similar.
