Good to have you here.
Well hasn’t the weather had a change of heart! It’s been freezing here lately, so-much-so I even put the heating on the other day! It’s also been raining on and off, especially yesterday when I went to the shops and had to dodge the rain. I went with my girls to Maidstone for a dress fitting and the rain was pouring hard one minute & the next it was sunny. I didn’t do any shopping but had a lovely time with the girls talking wedding plans and reminiscing about old times. It was hard to see the shopping centre rather bare with plenty of empty shops! Such a change from yesterday-years! I loved Christmas shopping there and it always had so much choice! I hate how our town centres have taken a turn for the worse, and reckon it’s because lots of people now shop online - something I hate! I’ve been trying to look for a Mother of the Bride dress, with no luck so far! I prefer to go to a shop and physically see an outfit and try it on! It’s not quite the same looking online (they never look the same) purchasing (you have to pay in advance for any you want to try) and then return what’s not wanted! I just hate it. Bring back proper shops I say!
My post today is a bit ironic with the weather we’ve been having, but I wanted a pretty sundress for an upcoming holiday.
I couldn’t quite put my finger on what this pattern reminded me of, but instantly, when I put it on the other day I remembered my mum’s curtains!
I couldn’t quite put my finger on what this pattern reminded me of, but instantly, when I put it on the other day I remembered my mum’s curtains! 😂. I found this sundress in my local F&F and thought it might be a contender for my trip to Sicily in July! Alas when I put it on I soon had visions of said curtains that were in the front room of our family home! It just turned me off of the dress, even though it’s quite pretty.
With that being said, It’s actually got everything going for it with a super flattering length - it’s a midi, deep side pockets, a stretchy half back that’s shirred and thin spaghetti straps that work ever-so-well in hotter temps. It had my name all over it just needed to be a different fabric!
cold skin needed a little cover up so I reached for this crochet cardi I found on Shein a while back. It’s excellent quality and makes a welcoming addition in colder weather. It’s got little buttons down the front and cute bell shape sleeves, is this a style you’d wear?
The cream dress is covered in lines of flowers which are basically pretty florals of pale yellow, pink, deep rose and shades of mink, my recent competition win from Roc Jewellery complimented it beautifully. You can see the matching necklace and earrings compliment the dress beautifully, I like the big bold hearts set in gold. X
Hope the sunshine returns, fingers crossed for tomorrow as it’s my birthday. Do have a look on Instagram for any birthday updates. X

Our weather is much the same-- lots of cold and rain this week and we turned our heat back on too. That is such a pretty dress! But I get why you wouldn't want to keep it if it reminds you of curtains you used to see.
ReplyDeleteThat´s a wonderful dress for spring and summer. Looks really good and has so many details.
ReplyDeleteHave a good time and all the best

I was very pleasantly surprised last weekend when I went to a shopping mall near the race I did. It is in a wealthy part of Atlanta and the shops were busy and the whole shopping mall was busting with life. The one closer to me, about half the shops have closed down and it looks lifeless. These were expensive stores, think Louis Vuitton and the likes and people there were buying. Pretty summer dress! I hope the weather changes back to pretty skies and sun for you soon!

Very pretty floral sundress! Hope the weather is right for it soon. I am with you about shopping online, I find it very frustrating, and the experience is lacking. I really prefer to see and touch things, and try them on in a shop environment. Thanks for hosting the link up, and hope you have a good week!
ReplyDeleteThat floral midi dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! The colors feel so fresh and cheerful for spring, and I love how the denim jacket keeps the whole look relaxed and wearable. Such a pretty combination that looks perfect for everyday or a casual outing.
ReplyDeleteJacqui, this is a gorgeous dress but I am quite partial to old vintage wallpaper prints! In fact, I have made clothing more than once from old curtains. The older, more vintagy the print, the more I like it. The style of this dress is also very much to my taste. Beautiful, my friend!

The dress is really pretty! I love fabrics that look like curtains, in fact Pete says a lot of my outfits remind him of his nan's curtains in the 70s!
