Chocolate Tones - Chic & Stylish Linkup.

Morning everyone.
How are you?

Well we’re supposed to be having a heatwave but although it’s still sticky hot here it’s been cloudy all day with a stormy vibe. We had a little bit of rain yesterday, but nothing major and definitely no storm!

I took a trip into Canterbury Matalan earlier this week, I was on my way to an appointment (I’ll spill the beans soon) and I grabbed the opportunity with two hands to do a bit of shopping. Unfortunately the new season pieces haven’t filtered into my local store yet and the pickings were slim but I did come home with a couple of pairs of trousers, two tops and some underwear! You can see my TikTok reel here where I shared all my findings.

So my outfit, which I wore yesterday, featured a pair of trousers I bought & loved.

I’ve recently found a new love for the colour brown. It’s a trending shade for next season and I’m pleased that it actually suits me. It’s not as harsh as black (also a tone I like to wear) as it’s got warmer undertones. I picked up a gorgeous dress a few weeks ago. It’s from H&M but I bought it from Vinted for a fraction of the price and love the look. Here’s a clip for you to see how nice it is! 🤎

I still think brown pairs well with so many other colours. I’d been searching through my ‘tops’ draw and threw quite a few different coloured tops and tee shirts next to the lightweight trousers and thought how well they all looked with them. I tried pale blue and pink, cream and yellow and adored how nice this leopard print fitted top looked with it, so this was my choice.

My trousers are current season from Matalan and cost a really reasonable £20! I just wished they had a top to match as that would gave been a great co-ord. I love wearing things like this as they are easy choices. You don’t have to think very hard and the outfit is there and waiting. I’ll be checking out whether they have one!

I find the style and fit of my trousers really flattering and great for any size and any age! They suit my pear shape very well and are also nice & comfy to wear. They have a drawstring waist and side pockets and sit midway between the waist and hips. I could only get a short leg but that turned out okay, they sit on my chunky sandals perfectly.

This little tee shirt came from F&F and was in the sale for a few pounds! It’s got a slight ruched effect on each side and is a trending style that looks great with trousers, skirts and shorts too.
I paired a gold necklace, which is the chunky one I bought in Sicily. It matches my gold bag nicely and keeps all the warm tones together for a fabulous finish.

Top spot from last week’s linkup goes to Kathrine - Kathrine Eldridge who’s sporting a fantastic spaghetti strap midi. It’s one I’d pick in a heartbeat and looks amazing on.
