Neutral Trousers with Navy - Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning everyone.
Hope your first week of Feb is going well.

I’m looking forward to seeing some new Spring styles and am planning on popping into town to have a look, I won’t be holding my breath though, as I’ve been let down by my local shopping centre before, it’s quite depressing to see just what they’re lacking but fingers crossed for a few newbies to add to my wardrobes. I’ll be sure to remember my vow after styling this tricky skirt - only buying something I know what it can be styled with and if I’d definitely wear something with three things. 🌸

Now I have to admit the trousers I’m wearing today were purchased a few years ago and although they weren’t an impulse buy were bought on their own. I did know I’d make some sort of outfit with the bits I already have in my wardrobe. As you all know I love wearing neutral shades and have worn these umpteen times since buying them AND I’ve got them in two sizes for when my size fluctuates. 😁 See them worn with my faux leather here and here with a swirly top and blazer.

Navy and neutral tan is a classic match made in heaven. They always make an outfit look so expensive and will forever get noticed.  Apparently with navy and orange being opposites on the colour chart meaning they both compliment and contrast with each other, creating visual interest. Just think how good your jeans look with brown leather boots - naturally best friends eh!

You may or may not know I enjoy wearing palazzo styles and feel right at home in these flattering beauties. They wash well and don’t even need ironing and as you might have spotted have pockets. I picked these up in New Look, however I’ve seen lots around so get looking for your own stunners.

Completing my look today I wore my Salamander striped shirt which is a seersucker fabric. It’s a nice shirt to wear as is both soft to touch and has a sturdy feel, I like when a collar stays in place and the material doesn’t crease therefore it’s easy to iron. Do checkout the post which has a link and discount code to plenty of other beautiful shirts like this.

My navy bouclé jacket came out to play and it’s one of those styles that you can pull on and go. It’s a relaxed slouchy style that’s almost oversized, which means I can get it on over a thick jumper and it still looks okay

Still layering up ladies? Yes me too! You can see I chose a matching tan vest top which kept me toasty warm and created a textured addition to my outfit. It’s all about the details and extra pieces my friends.

Top Tip:
Only buy something if you know what to style it with and if you’d definitely wear it with three different items.

Finally my blue padded bag to bring everything together and my chunky boots that are a firm favourite with trousers and jeans alike. A chunky boot or shoe adds height which in turn elongates the legs especially with longer trouser, I’m all for looking taller, how about you?

  1. I am ready for spring too but right now it is definitely all about the layers. It is cold in the morning but then warms up nicely in the afternoon. I am enjoying some transitional looks. I am not sure if it will get cold all day again or not. So far now I am enjoying wearing some toppers. Soon enough I will be wearing all of my denim jackets.
