My Grey Culottes with pink again!

Morning my lovely friends.
Hope you're all good.
I'm delighted to share it's my blog's birthday!  Mummabstylish is celebrating my 4th year blogging.
Happy Blog-birthday to me!
I'm loving it more than ever now and am still learning something new everyday.  Just the other day I learnt how to add a link to a photo!  I know that's nothing major but to me it was impressive!  I find an awful lot of information on both google & YouTube, but there's still so much to learn it kinda keeps my mind alive.
With awful weather battering the UK recently shall we indulge in some nice sunny photos?  These were taken a few weeks ago, when we had a break from the wind and rain so Esther and I took full advantage to step out in the rays!  This beach is about 10 minutes away, but I don't go there very often which is a shame because it's a good backdrop for taking photos with pretty beach huts, an interesting pier, arcades and beautifully laid gardens.  You can see some of my previous posts featuring pier, beach huts & gardens.

Last month I bought a pair of culottes, do you recall me wearing them with pale pink and lemon yellow? There's a multitude of options to mix them with and here's another way I'd  happily wear them.  I know I've chosen pink again, but I just love this combination.  I have more ideas in the pipeline and hope you'll stop back to check them out.
Back to my pink and grey ensemble....

Negative Comments!

Morning, how are you all my lovelies?
After telling you all I've had some relaxing weeks my weekend has turned out to be rather busy.  Friday evening I went ballroom dancing - I have been learning the waltz.  It's very odd dancing alone (hubby's adamant he won't join me) so I either dance solo, with the teacher or his wife - it really makes a difference having a partner to dance with so will have to keep badgering hubby to come too!
Saturday night, after a day working in the garden, we had dinner with friends, a fabulous evening made easier because we all took a course of food.  My choice of pate with a selection of anti pasti for starters went down well, but I kept picking which is a big downfall for my diet!   Sunday arrived way to early after a late night, getting up to bake cakes for the baby shower I attended.  This was for my daughter-in-law and went very well.  We answered questions about mummy-to-be, guessed her waist measurement with string, tried to work out who the baby pictures were and ate lots of party food.  Home to chill after the busy weekend!  What did you all get up to?

Red has a habit of cheering me up.  It's an emotionally charged colour as it's the colour of blood and life.  It's associated with power, passion, love and confidence.  Red will lift your emotions & is a good choice for instilling confidence - something that will give you the edge when you're lacking it.
I picked this red outfit after recently receiving a negative comment - it really was a pick-me-up shade and helped big-up my ego.

H & M skirt & Lurex jumper - #chicandstylish #linkup

Hi there lovelies, how's I going in the land of over fifty blogging?
Finally seeing the end of the tunnel with my Christmas preparations, with only 5 more sleeps I just need to get the last of the presents wrapped and get the food shopping done.  How about you?  All finished?
I returned home from Abu Dhabi with not one but two new pieces, you might have seen my blog relating to this classic ball covered jumper paired with floral trousers, now here's the other item I bought.
I'm a great fan of pleated skirts and have worn a variety of them over the past year - my luxurious red velvet one, this cobalt blue swishy sweetie or this cream beauty to name a few.
So I thought it was about time I added a patterned one.  Step forward my new little beauty.

Another look at The Bias-Cut shirt. #chicandstylish #linkup

Morning, thanks for visiting my little blog space.

Today I thought I'd share another look with my Bias-Cut Shirt.
I don't know what was going on with my hair when these shots were taken, although it was raining, so my hard work of drying and styling were somewhat wasted!
Anyhow - I felt like channelling my inner 'Anna' and doing a bit of pattern matching - please say I've got it right!!
I knew this shirt would work perfectly for many different looks, and figured I could wear it as a jacket.  I picked this dress, but was unsure what the result would be - I reckon it's worked though as I quite like the look.  I definitely needed the extra layer as the rain had made it a little chilly!  My dress is from Matalan a couple of seasons ago, and I have to say I love wearing it.  The thin straps are just the job for hot weather, and the full skirt gives movement and swish when I walk, creating a little breeze wherever I go.  It also makes a lovely circle when I spin round - not that I do it that often, only when my grand-daughter is around - she loves a dancing dress!! 😍
