Crochet Skirt/Waistcoat - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Good morning my friends.
How’s it going?

I’ve had such a busy few weeks, I don’t actually know if I’m coming or going! I’m away at the weekend so I’ve been getting everything sorted and in place but there’s still so much to do! I’m only away for a couple of nights and it’ll be amazing once I finally get on the train. We’re off to France with four friends, I can’t say where we’re going as they read the blog … sorry Mrs W! 😂

I’m planning a little capsule collection for the long weekend and I’m hoping the weather is nice so I can wear my new red trousers and white jacket. If you follow along on IG I’ll share my choices with you and do a detailed post next week.

Today I’m bringing my crochet piece to the game, so sharing this stunning skirt I’ve recently added to my collection.

Spring Greens in Lotus Shoes.

Hi there,
How are you?

Hoping you've had a wonderful weekend and an inspiring week and I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day for yesterday ( I know my friends in the US don't celebrate that until later in the year).  I've honestly been spoiled rotten by all the kids.  I went out for breakfast, had some stunning gifts, spent time with all the family and enjoyed a tasty and stunning tapas meal at my daughters.  I'm so lucky to have such wonderful children and was fortunate to have my mum with me too!  Did you do anything yesterday, I would love to hear what you did!

I'm shocked to find out I've missed my blog anniversary!  Not sure how that happened but on the 8th March Mummabstylish was 7 years old!  I had to check how many years I've been blogging and looked back on my first post!  Please don't look at it as I've come a long way since setting off on this blogging journey!

Not much to report over the past week, I've been to the gym and dance classes (let me know if you'd like to see my latest Tango) and everything seems to be running smoothly.  I have done a bit of shopping, well online shopping, and have received a couple of new skirts along with some gifted pieces I can't wait to style (two dresses that might be suitable for the one and only wedding I'm going to this year.)  The skirts are gorgeous with one from Vinted (remember I mentioned it last week when I shared faux leather) and the other is showcasing the 'on trend' denim skirt that I managed to track down on Ebay.  I've got that earmarked for the Style Not Age challenge next week!

Anyway back to today's post.  I recently shared some fancy shoes that were bright orange on the blog.  These were gifted from Lotus Shoes and I'm pleased to share another dazzling pair today.
Step forward you gorgeous green shoes with matching bag. 💚

Birthday Treat to The Pig - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my friends.
Hope you're doing well.
I'm off to Sicily tomorrow and I can't wait.  David and I have had a few holidays this year, but it will be nice to get away and be just the two of us!  David has always wanted to visit this little island off of Italy's boot, he's a big fan of the film The Godfather and has watched it more times than I can remember!  You can follow along my Instagram stories to see what I get up to my friends.

Anyway let me tell you a bit about my day yesterday.  I was lucky enough to go to lunch with my sister.  We went for my birthday treat and had a wonderful few hours dining at The Pig in Bridge.
It holds special memories for us both as years ago it used to be a Country Club with a nightclub within it.  I've had many an enjoyable evening dancing and drinking the night away so we had lots of stories to chat about.  The venue is now a very interesting old building with plenty of hidden dining areas, secret stairways, comfortable sitting locations, a lively terrace overlooking the vegetable patch and of course, some deliciously tasty food.

"Time for a Cuppa" - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
Hope all is well with you.
How's your Spring wardrobe shaping up?  I've purchased a few pieces and will be sorting through my wardrobe soon, just so I can check up on what I need to fill in any gaps and get rid of things I haven't worn for a while.  I'm excited to see what's coming into the stores too, it's nice to see the new season fashions arrive and find out what's 'on-trend' & what I like & more importantly what I might buy!

With Mothers Day just around the corner and me feeling slightly very guilty that I won't be here (I'm going for a cheeky skiing weekend), so I figured it would be neat to spend some time with my mum.  As the years go by I realise more and more how special my mum is.  I appreciate all my time with her but don't spend anywhere near as much as I should.  It's just 'life' gets in the way sometimes.  We are planning another weekend away this year similar to when we went to Rye last year with my sister.  It's something we all enjoy doing and really make it special.
It's all about quality time though isn't it, if you can only spare an hour or so having a cuppa surely that's better than nothing!  I love popping to mum's for a chat, we always talk about old times, the family, what we've been doing and what she's been up to.  She's always busy and has a club night or evening dinner planned three or four times a month!  Her social life is better than mine!!!

Did you know from 1st - 8th March it's 'Time for a cuppa' campaign?

This is a sponsored post, however all opinions and comments are my own.

Another day - another Dress!

Hi there.
A busy week for MummaB, and after a busy weekend too I'm starting to think about my trip to Rome for some rest and relaxation.  Well I know I wont be resting I'll be sightseeing however I wont be cooking or working so that almost counts as taking it easy - right?
Yesterday I went to my grandson's christening at the local church where daughter and SIL married, followed by a informal gathering at the cricket club for about 80 family and friends.  Such a lovely afternoon with the weather playing fair and the children playing even fairer - lol.   I made my usual profiterols topped with white chocolate rather than dark this time - I must say they went down well and were gone in a flash - fortunately I managed to sneak one before they got seen - yummy indeed.  I also made a rocky road and chicken liver pate - all much appreciated along with the hot dogs, fruit cake and chocolate cake that were among other delectable goodies. X

Looking back to Thursday, I featured a dress I found in the Debenhams/Principes sale - I also found another beauty and just couldn't make up my mind so ended up buying both!  I wore it yesterday at the christening, but had already got some stunning photos taken by Esther to share with you all.

What to wear for a christening service - well I wore something dressy & smart with a summery vibe.

Love dressing in a Dress - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Good morning!
How are you?
Can't believe this is my last post of August!  Where has this month gone, it's flown by so quickly.  With the hot weather really getting to me these past few weeks I'm eagerly waiting for the cooler temperatures to arrive - yes I no your telling me to "shut up".  There's no rhyme or reason to my body temperature I'm either boiling hot or freezing cold - I just want to be in-between and normal!

I've got a busy week coming up with a Christening on Sunday, photos with Esther on Monday, appointments in the week, a trip to London which I'm really excited about and also on Wednesday my son will be participating in The Worlds Oldest Rowing Race on the River Thames, you might just remember my eldest son competing back in 2016 - you can read about our day out here.  It's going to be a busy few days with baking and preparing food for both christening and race, but I'll try to visit your blogs as much as I can.
My son will be team light blue, & we're all be wearing something in that colour to show our support - we have a boat and some 100 odd family and friends joining us for the day - fingers crossed we get the result we want - especially after all his hard work & determination.  I've got a couple of ideas what I'm going to wear, but none are dresses.  I might end up donning white jeans and the cute baby blue Zara top I shared with you recently.  Had it been turquoise I could have worn this beautiful and oh-so-chic dress I bought for a recent christening.  I picked up two in the Debenhams/Principles sale, two for the price of one sang in my ears when I took both to the checkout - happy days. **Featuring the second on Monday's post **
