Sharing Comfy Sandals & A Sundress.

Morning all.
Hope you’ve have a splendid week.

I’ve had a lovely, albeit very busy weekend and the next couple of weeks will be no different. I’m away next weekend and off to Cornwall the week after to visit my uncle.

I’ve had the run of birthdays last week, which started with mine. I was very spoilt by everyone with some lovely flowers, some excellent gifts and lots of sweet cards with lovely words in them. Anyone else love reading the words in cards? I’ve got a bit of a break until the next celebratory days arrive, which are spaced apart now.
On Friday it was my granddaughters 11th birthday, I can’t believe how fast the years fly by. It seems like only yesterday she was born. I also went to my ballroom class where we started learning the jive! We’ve done this one before and I have to say it’s not one of my favourites, but maybe it’s because we’re learning it slowly, which is a shame because I’ll miss the next two sessions, so will be back to square one!

On Saturday I caught up with some ironing and housework. I was on my own and managed to get loads done, and got the house nice and tidy. When David got home he came with me to the local shopping centre where I had to pick up a package from Next. David picked up a few bits in there and also in M&S, but unfortunately the jeans I’m after were still not available and as the online facility is down, I’ll have to wait until I pop in again! I’m still after those barrel leg jeans - which is a pain!

On Sunday, after helping with the AirBnb I went with the girls to my granddaughter’s birthday party. She went to a place called Elev8 which has all sorts of trampolines, games, soft play areas and an arcade. They all had a brilliant time whilst enjoying all the different areas so my girls and I managed to chat & catch up over coffee’s. After that we took them to McDonald’s which they loved. I’m very proud to say I passed on any of the fast food due to my Keto diet! I also cooked a roast when I got home complete with roasted cauliflower and vegetables. Have any of you ever tried the Keto diet?

Broderie Anglais Midi Dress - Chic & Stylish Linkup

Hello and welcome to my blog today.
How are you all?

My holiday seems a distant memory now, I’m hopeful that the better weather will come and stay. We’ve had a couple of nice days recently although still windy at least the skies are blue and there’s no rain!
I popped into a couple of shops on Wednesday and was pleased to return with a few bits. Two dresses of which one will be featured on Monday for the Style not Age challenge and a cute pair of black thin fabric wide leg trousers. I’ve seen some girls wearing them with chunky flats and little tee shirts so thought I’d try them for myself. If they look alright I’ll share them with you soon.

I also went to the gym classes, but have been saddened by my normal gym instructor leaving and moving out of the area! You know when you love how someone teaches and going to her classes was always looked forward to, well that’s just how I feel about it! There’s been a change around with different instructors and new classes so it’s all been a bit of an upheaval! I hate change and am a creature of habit, with often going to the same hotel and holiday destination with the same restaurant frequented too! Anyone else like that?
So on Wednesday I did Body Attack followed by Spin, both went okay although BA was a bit of a shock to the system, however I did them and survived… lol!
It’ll take a few weeks to settle I reckon and I’ve got a couple of others choices to try and see if I prefer them!
Do you like to change classes around or are you like me and like routine?

I’m sharing a holiday dress with you today, I was kindly gifted this one from Izabel London Clothing and think it’s going to be perfect when the warm sunny weather arrives! ☀️

Another Jumpsuit!

Hi there,
Well that was a busy few days!

Last Thursday I went to my nephews wedding and what a lovely day it was!  I ended up wearing this dress that I featured for the Style Not Age challenge.  You can see here that I changed the accessories and opted for white rather than the tonal greens.  Do let me know in the comments which one you preferred, although both were very striking.

On Friday after a slow start I went to visit the bride and groom at their house.  They put on another fantastic spread to celebrate their wedding and I enjoyed more delicious food followed by a small amount of fizz and a general chat about the previous day.  Everyone commented upon having a wonderful day and enjoying the whole event, asking could we all do it again please! Lol.

The weekend was spent in the garden on Saturday, working hard on cutting the grass (me), trimming the hedge (David) and tidying up (both of us).  If you've followed the blog you'll know I have a love hate, hate relationship with my garden.  It's the bane of my life come the Summer months and it keeps me busy every week getting things in shape.  Oh for the days of a small garden ... lol.  With that being said I do enjoy seeing it when it's done, it's quite satisfying and something I'm very proud of. We were thoroughly shattered by the end of the day and sat down to watch the football with a tasty Chinese takeaway meal.

So here's today's OOTD.  I wore this to enjoy the BBQ yesterday at my daughters house.  She's got a big kitchen/family room and enclosed garden which is perfect for the kids, and they've got all their gardens toys to play with too.  It's been a hot couple of days and I'm not really used to it!  I know I can hear you sun worshipers shouting at me, but I need a few weeks to get into hotter weather.  We've gone from jeans and jumpers to full on shorts and t-shirts.  The British weather certainly does keep us on our toes, just don't know what it's going to do next!

A White Maxi from Nomads Clothing - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hello everyone, hope you're well.
Huge thanks for stopping by, I'm very honoured to have your continued support.

We've had brilliant weather so far this week, I've been living in floaty dresses and skirts with some pretty sandals to match.  With the second stint of birthdays just about done I'm starting to think about my holiday in June.  Did I mention we are going away with all the kids, their partners AND their children!  That makes 18 on a plane to Majorca to stay in an all inclusive hotel in Can Picafort (for those who want to avoid the area we go at the end of June). 😜
I'll be doing the usual and packing one pieces like dresses and jumpsuits, I just find that so much easier than taking separates where I end up wearing the wrong things together leaving an outfit totally unsuitable - have you ever done that?  My daughter has now said that's what she will do, so I must have passed on some helpful tips somewhere along the line!

Now if you dropped by on Monday you'd have seen it was my birthday on Sunday, another year older and maybe a bit wiser.  I wanted to have family and friends round and provide drinks and some food, and that's just what I did!
As I mentioned above the weather was nice on Sunday, not too warm, but warm enough to have an outside gathering.  David cooked his usual amazing roast potatoes - in goose fat & I made two pates, one smoked salmon and the other my signature starter ... chicken liver pate.  I also had crisps and some dips & a few sweets to keep the children happy.  I received some wonderful gifts and felt well and truly spoiled especially after getting a cute orange bag and matching belt, some new trainers, a dress, jacket sandals, chocolates and lots of pretty flowers and lovely cards - it was a perfect day that I'd been waiting two years to happen, lock-down birthday's just weren't the same were they!

I've been lucky enough to review some pieces from Nomads Clothing over the past few weeks and found this white maxi will be a winner for Summer as there's so many different ways to style it!  You can catch a reel I made for Instagram featuring some of the looks, and this one has to be one of my best looks!

Throwback Thursday - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there my lovelies,
Many thanks for stopping by today. I love having you here and value your support!
We are heading into what has to be my favourite season.  Warm sunny days followed by balmy nights.  Wearing minimum clothing in bright colours that make me feel alive!  Celebrating the relaxing warm weather that makes me feel alive and happy.  I so wish we could all be back to normal, sharing drinks with friends with much laughter and plenty of good food - I bet your wishing for the same too!

I've come to realise I like wearing dresses, in fact I LOVE wearing dresses and prefer to see me wearing them too.  When I see photos of me in trousers and jeans I look at a short, frumpy lady trying to copy the slender, leggy models that spring out of my IG stories.  Never happy are we?
Anyway to alleviate that I've just ordered three dresses on the Next website and am looking forward to seeing how they look.  I've also ordered a pair of nude court shoes that were too cheap not to buy - let's hope they are as good as they sound.
So until they arrive I'm sharing a previously seen Marks and Spencer dress in soft summer shades. I'd still love you to join my #Chicandstylish #LINKUP  Just click the link below and I'll be checking what wonderful outfits you're all wearing and I can't wait!

Dressing like a Deck Chair! Style Steal.

Morning all.
How are you lovely lot?
All good here, just wishing the weather was a bit nicer for us, it's making me think about Autumn clothes and I really don't want to be thinking about that yet!  But what I am thinking about is how the hell I can do a Style Steal without a steal?  Well technically that's wrong because I do have a steal - I just don't have a photo of the steal!!
Confused?  Read on my friends.

Well technically that's wrong because I do have a steal - I just don't have a photo of the steal!!

I'm a huge fan of Instagram (catch my stories here), scrolling through looking for ideas, commenting on lovely outfits, make-up designs and beautiful destinations.  Whilst looking through some time ago I spotted a gorgeous lady wearing a really interesting dress.  I liked and commented and that was as far as I got.  Imagine finding the dress in my local H & M - in the sale for like £8 I jumped on it, not really knowing if the strange-but-exciting style would suit me.  Well you can let me know what you think, but I'm rather taken with the 'deck chair' pattern and unusual design.
