Five on my Bucket List - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my lovely readers.
Hope you're week is going well, stay focused it's nearly the weekend!

A quieter one for me as we aren't doing anything.  It's been a busy few weeks and next weekend we are away so I'm going to enjoy the serene atmosphere with nothing to do.

So with no new items to share with you either, I thought I'd share my bucket list with you.  In case you don't know what a bucket list is, it's a list of things one wants to complete before literally kicking the bucket!
Anyway without further ado, here's mine!

My top 5 on my BL.

  • Learn to paddle board.
I've often wanted to try this adventure and since seeing someone in Positano elegantly paddling across the bay and back again making it look so easy, I've wanted to try & learn even more.  I did get a taster lesson from my son and daughter-in-law for Christmas last year and have that lesson booked with Herne Bay Paddle Co, so as they say "Watch this space".
This one has actually been ticked off quite a few years ago.  David and I had the pleasure of travelling down to Bath with a return journey too.  It was a few years ago & a really wonderful and very special journey. We were treated to excellent food and champagne both ways.  We also had a trip to the local Assembly Rooms which had a interesting Fashion Through the Ages museum (they have various collections on show at different times of year).  Included was a tour around the Roman Baths, definitely worth a visit.  Finally we had a coach trip to see the sights of Bath before going back to London on the exclusive train with dinner to savor whilst we traveled through the English countryside.

  • Blepharoplasty - Eye Lid Surgery.
I'm seriously considering having this done.  I'm not worried about anything else but hate my droopy eye lids and to make matters worse one is more droopy that the other making eye make up a difficult job.  I'd just like to be able to put on eye-shadow that can actually be seen when it's finished.  I study lots of YouTube videos sharing the best way to apply it, but it never seems to work that well.  So to have proper lids that are even would be wonderful, I could finally put my studies to good use.

  • Travel around Europe in a Camper Van or Car.
There's something about being driven that I love.  I've always said that if I win the lottery I'd get a chauffeur.  David drives most of the time, so I get to be passenger and see the sights.  When the children we younger we used to drive down to our holidays in Spain and also skiing in The French Alps - I just adored it.  We would pack our little holiday world in our people carrier and head off to France with the five kids.  It was such a wonderful time and I miss it terribly.  So many happy memories of packed lunches & nights out en route - I've got a head full of stories of what happened to us over the years, you know silly little stories that don't mean a thing to anyone else but mean the world to me.
I remember staying in a posh hotel in Tournos once as it was the only one we could find available, it was rather expensive, but we didn't care at all.  Anyway after dinner I was all dressed up in my elegant skirt and top with nice heels walking around the village when my eldest son, who was about 7 managed to step in dogs 💩! Guess who had to clean it off with a tissue, yes me - not so elegant or chic at all! 🤣
So my plan would be to be driven around Europe (c/o David) without any kids so I can stop where I want and see the sights and cities up close.

  • Learn to Scuba Dive in the Maldives.
Ever since I worked in a travel agents when I left work I've wanted to go to the Maldives. I recall drooling over the Kuoni brochures, flicking through the pages showing white sandy islands with impressive palm trees nestling among turquoise seas & little huts trailing through the clear waters.
Various reasons have stopped us going, but for sure it's on my list of things I would love to do.  I have also wanted to try scuba diving too, so it seems the obvious and most exciting thing to do them together in dreamy warm waters. The thrill of seeing the underwater world would be a memory that would last a lifetime and it's one I'd like to create.  I've only ever used a snorkel once and got quite panicky as the seal was cheap and didn't fit properly.   The salty sea water made me choke and worry I would drown especially as I couldn't touch the bottom!  I'll need proper lessons to guide me through when I eventually get to swim underwater, what better place to do it than in the Maldives.

  1. Oh yes, and if you do that trip through Europe you should stop by my place! If you consider having surgery on your eyelids, do it! I did mine 11 years ago and am so happy with the result! And Bath! Such a beautiful city, we did that bus ride too and of course the baths.

  6. I paddle boarded a few years ago and it wasn't too difficult and it was a lot of fun! Driving around Europe sounds fun. I was hoping to do something like that in the Southwest ( Arizona, New Mexico..) but my hubby didn't like the idea. Oh well, we still like to travel just no long drives!

  9. I would love to have eye lid surgery too! Lol! I have one like you that is a little more droopy than the other. I was taking these beauty vitamins that City Beauty gave me as a sample (3 months) and I swear it helped so much, but since I've stopped, I feel it is droopy again. Such a pity. LOL. You have a fabulous bucket list!

  14. Paddle boarding looks like fun, I'd try it if I was a better swimmer! I tried scuba diving about 20 years ago and it wasn't as relaxing as I thought it would be. It just seems weird to be breathing under water, my natural instinct was to panic but after a few deep breaths I managed to enjoy it. I would love to go to the Maldives too!

  22. Such great things for your bucket list, Jacqui. I'd love to try paddle boarding too—but not in the ocean lol. It would have to be on a super calm lake! One of the things I always dreamed of doing was to take a hot air balloon ride over the Egyptian pyramids, but I can't see that happening because it's still quite an unsafe place to visit. Perhaps one day, we'll be able to do it. I'd also love to visit all the ancient ruins in Greece. The history of Greece and Egypt always appealed to me. Big hugs xx
