If I were a Handbag for Style Not Age.

Good morning my friends.
How are you?
All good here, just had a wonderful weekend with the family.

Did you see my IG on Friday?  Well my youngest son did the most amazing thing.  He's been growing his hair for the last couple of years, with the end goal to donate his locks to the Little Princess Trust.  They use the hair to create wigs for children who've lost their hair due to cancer or another condition.
I have to say I'm hugely proud of him and what he's done.  He's now completely bald!  Do pop over to see him, and maybe even make a donation!

I'm also waiting for the arrival of my grandchild, (unless they arrived since I edited this post) I'm so excited and full of wonder as to whether we're blessed with a boy or a girl and what they will look like.
I'll keep you informed my friends.

Today is the last Monday of the month, which means it's time to take a look at what the ladies from the Style Not Age  group have been styling.
This month it's been Anna's turn to give us a prompt and she went with quite a teaser .....

"If I were a Handbag..."

I did find this one rather hard at first and couldn't come up with anything, bit silly I know as I have so many handbags to my name.  I finally realised a handbag really does emulate a person.  You see I've always wanted to be one of those people who have a small and neat bag with little compartments and everything in the right place.  I even bought one of those inner bags so everything can be transferred from bag to bag, but the sizes never worked for me.  I've come to the conclusion I'm a big-chuck-it-all-in kind of bag person.  I know it's in there I just have to find it. I'm the lady with everything in her bag.  Always have a tissue, pen, hair band, tampon (when needed) and the odd safety pin and sticky sweet! Lol.

To be totally honest I do love a leather bag, there's something about the smell isn't there.  I was chuffed to receive this beauty I'm styling for today's post - it's very me and you can find out more about it later!

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

Shall I let you into a little secret?  My look for today's challenge arrived late on Saturday Morning.  I just didn't know what to style with my bag (I knew I was going to style the bag).  So after perusing my wardrobes I pulled out my Primark dress.  Its a smock style and has been lovely to wear throughout last year when the weather was warmer.  I knew I needed a jumper over the top so after meandering through my jumpers I came across my pale blue one.  It has fab cuff details with matching neck frill.  I actually bought it for my daughter a few Christmases ago, but it didn't fit her so I kept it!  I pulled it on and did the typical 'Instagrammer' tie the back with an elastic band trick.  It did the job and cinched the waist in to give a more feminine silouhette.

Keeping with the winterised theme I opted to include my black slouch boots, and it just so happens I love wearing them and they are really comfortable!  These are from Monsoon and although mine are now sold out, this pair is very similar AND are on offer for under £50 (for leather boots - amazing).

Did you spot my earrings?  My daughter bought these for me when she got married, I wore a lovely pale blue and navy two piece (not sure I've ever got round to blogging about it 🤔 though).  I do prefer to wear Stud Earrings, they always look better than dangly ones, I think that's because my hair gets in the way!  What style do you tend to go for? These are very similar to mine. 💙

Now let's talk about my new bag*  The Alma Satchel bag is from a stunning collection from Daniella Lehavi.  Made from the softest leather it feels like a dream.  It has two interior pockets with zips and another on the outside.  I like the little handels and it also has a leather and chain shoulder strap that's detachable. I'm all over a bag that has double features - I want it to work for me and this little beauty does just that! It has a full zipper closure & a key chain holder to keep everything safe.

Now it's my fellow bloggers turn.  Shall we see what Anna - Anna's Island Style went for?
A patchwork leather and suede bag, I never expected anything else from you Anna.  You've teamed it with a sassy outfit and yes it does mimic your style perfectly.

Emma - Style Splash picked well too.  Emma took inspiration from her Angel Jackson handbag.  It's a multi coloured master piece & Emma worked her magic picking out colours from that bag and bought them to life with here outfit - do stop by her blog for all the details.

Hilda - Over the Hilda opted for a bright green bag from a local designer Julie Peelo, but it's more than just a bag.  It has so many other uses from carrying a laptop to popping in make up.  I adore this trendy colour Hilda.

Finally take a look at what Gail - Is this Mutton chose for the challenge. Gail also went for a black and red outfit and accompanied that with this cute little bag, leading to a well finished look.

Many thanks for stopping by today, hope you liked our take on the prompt.
Be sure to join us next month to see how we achieve our looks for Hilda's topic.
Cheerio for now. X

  6. I love this layered outfit, the knit is so pretty over the dress and that's a cute bag too! I think I'd have a hard time picking a bag to represent me as well - and I do have a lot of bags to pick from, being a bag lady, haha!

Thanks so much for joining the #WeekdayWearLinkup! Hope that you are having a good weekend :) Another sunny day here thankfully, helping things dry out after the floods!
