White Midi with Black Additions - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning my friends.
I do hope you are all doing well.

Writers block has hit me today, I'm finding it hard to write anything really!  It's a hard time of the year with memories of loved ones who've passed away in this month - it proves to be a tough time for all the family.  It's something we all have to come to terms with isn't it, but I have a good strong family around and I find talking really helps.
I also think I've just about had enough of Covid and all it has brought with it, but I do feel things are very slowly beginning to settle down.  Masks have become second nature and I feel quite naked when I don't have one on when I'm anywhere near the shops - lol.  How are the Covid restrictions where you live?

What I can tell you about is something I've been enjoying styling and wearing recently, and honestly who doesn't love a white dress
If you follow me on IG you might have seen me styling this white dress a few different ways - here's a link if you'd like to see it.  I had lots of lovely comments and found that most of you favoured the same one that I liked the most.  It's just a black and white combination, and doesn't disappoint in the fashion stakes.

I've always had a liking for black and white outfits, but quite often feel they need a pop of colour to give a little je ne sais quoi!  There's an array of shades that work a treat with this monochrome combination and I will often add a red bag or pink scarf into the equation, taking the look to another level.
However this crisp white dress looks just stunning with black leather accents and I know it's a style I'll wear again and again.

I found the buffet dress in F & F and bought it home, but once I'd tried it on I found it too big.  I've managed to get a smaller size which fits much better, but I'm a bit confused as I always buy the same size and it's never been a problem before.
A midi is my 'go-to' style and seems to work well with whatever I pair it with.  Here I've plumped for western style ankle boots, but sandals with or without heels look good as do trainers & flip flop sandals.
The faux leather jacket may or may not be needed depending on the weather, and I certainly am looking forward to cooler days when I can throw this one on again.

Did you spot my cute belt?  I bought this in T K Maxx & I'm happy to say it was under £10 - this black leather belt has an elegant silver buckle and imagine how impressed I was to find it's reversible!  By one simple twist action it turns into a red one. Two in one, I love it!

I popped on silver and black bangles - these I've had for years and having wide knuckles managed to find some to accommodated this - they were from a shop called Evans but I've seen these that are similar.

  2. I hate it when that happens. Perfect sizing and then an odd one piece that turns out completely different. This happens a lot with HM when I buy. Not many people are wearing masks here in Essex Jacqui. I am because I can't have the vaccine as of yet. I'm waiting to go into hospital for mine. xx

  3. You can't go wrong with the floaty white dress and this one is very pretty. Like how you add the edge with the biker jacket over it

  4. Great outfit, Jacqui! I really do love a beautiful white dress for so many styling options. And reversible belts are so fun, too! You really can't go wrong with a classic black and white pairing. You look wonderful!

  5. What a cute little white dress! I love the classic combo of the black pieces with it :)

We are back to masks and another lockdown here - I wish the government would hurry up and get us some vaccines so we can get out of this mess! At least our lockdowns are short, poor Sydney has had weeks of it, they have hundreds of cases a day :( At 16 cases a day we are getting to the highest we have ever been, but we are thankful because it could be worse!

Thank you for the link up!

Hope your week is going well!

  9. You really can't beat a white dress, and this tiered style feels so summery! I love how you created some edge with the black moto jacket and boots--so darn cute! You idea to throw on a pink scarf is s good one--I'll remember that! We don't yet have mask requirements but they are coming. So many idiots here that won't take the shot. It's really frustrating. Have a great day, Jacqui!

  12. Sometimes you just have to jump in if you're going to bust up a writers block. There's no harm is writing a simple style post as you did here. Your edgy styling of a white dress with leather boots and jacket is brilliant. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  13. I love this black and white outfit Jacqui! Fabulous sunglasses too. It's weird how sizing can vary so much with pieces from the same brand - I've had this recently with Zara, Monki and Mango, so annoying!

  14. Hi Jacqui
A bit late to the party! This is such a fun look with the white and the edgy jacket, takes something feminine and adds to it! I understand about writers block, sometimes it flows and other times you are staring at the ceiling.
