What to Wear With a Neutral Jacket.

Hi there my friends.
Hoping you are all good.

A quiet Saturday for Mummab, with not much happening, this could be the calm before the storm, because in a few weeks time (exact date not known) my daughter and her hubby will be moving in - yes complete with her children, MY GRANDKIDS ARE COMING TO LIVE WITH ME - YAY!!!
I'm so excited to have them for however long they will stay, they are in the process of moving and doing up their new house and I can't wait.  I know it's going to be a bit cramped and probably very noisy at times, but having 5 kids of my own, I am used to having a busy house!
I hasten to add Sunday was a preview of the storm, I had ALL the children and grandkids for a traditional roast dinner and it was manic!  Plenty of noise, food, mess and bedlam ensued for Sunday afternoon and evening, I loved every minute - however I chilled with a brandy when they all went home - Roxy was pleased they left too!!!

Now March has arrived I'm hoping better weather will be round the corner and literally can't wait to wear Spring clothes.  My wardrobe is so much more interesting in warmer weather when I can wear skirts, fewer layers and jackets.
So with the jacket season just around the corner (well I've already sported one a couple of times when popping out in a "pocket" of nice weather) I wanted to share this beauty with you.  I love to complete an outfit with a jacket and have a quite a few to my name, but always on the lookout for more!  I was really chuffed when Oasis asked me to select something from the new Frankie Bridge collection look book.
Yes I know she's so much younger than me, but the duster trench coat is a timeless classic that serves to compliment not only young ladies, but older fashion bloggers like me too! After all age is just a number right?

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100 % my own and honest comments.

I've wanted to wear something like this for ages, I've seen lots of you wearing all white, but planned a spin on it by adding the beige lightweight trench coat from the new Frankie Bridge Collection.  The duster trench coat is made from thinner material & as it's not lined it's perfect for warmer days when you just need a little cover-up to keep the chill off.  It has a tie belt to keep feminine definition and some interesting features like side pockets, wide lapel and extra storm flap on the back & one side - for effect not purpose.  I'm liking the light feel and subtle warmth it offers - one you'll be seeing on the blog quite a lot I think.

My block white outfit started off with white skinny jeans - coming from Matalan & fit a treat.  I added my off white patterned jumper from Marks and Spencer then I plumped for tan accessories with a tan belt, necklace and gifted bag from Oasis.*

Do you like the cross body bag? I love using them and find they're a great help when shopping and on days out, but I like a bag to be big enough to get everything in, like this one!  I have three tan bags already, all different shapes, but all cross body - they just work for me.  This tan option is no different, it has plenty of pockets with zips and places to store everything I need.  It also has a top zip to keep everything secure and an adjustable strap so the desired length can be found.  Sometimes I wear a bag long & hanging by my side, other times I like to make it shorter so I can place it nearer my chest and close to me - depends where I am and how safe I feel.  This neat little bag from Oasis* is a stunning price of £28 which I claim is a bargain and as it's tan a versatile one at that!

I've been after a pair of tan slouch boots, and after looking both in shops and on line I eventually found some in Monsoon.  The pair in store were in the sale, but sadly looked like they'd seen better days!  So I ordered online, when they arrived (beautifully wrapped) they were odd colours! I then ordered another pair and returned the faulty ones.  They're slouch style and a very, very soft leather therefore will stay the course both in fashion and quality stakes .  These are reduced by half price to a cool £49.50 - I have to say are well worth it.  My new boots are perfect and look a real picture.  I know they'll look super with loads of outfits.  With softest leather and perfect heel height, they will be comfortable all the time, I'm in love with my new boots and they were definitely made for walking!

  2. So beautiful and classy Jacqui! I love the trench and all of the natural accessories/boots, it looks so fabulous on you! I would absolutely own a trench if our Spring required it, but it gets warm ere pretty quickly. Love the scarf as well. Oh boy, I didn't know you hadd 5 kids! It sounds like a full house , I know sometimes I think things are too quiet at my house. Enjoy!

  9. Jacqui, this is such a beautiful jacket. An absolute must have for every woman of every age, in my opinion. And I do love all white paired with tans. It creates such a classic yet vibrant look. Your enthusiasm about a houseful of grandchildren is contagious! However, I prefer a quiet house these days which is why I love when my mother in law gets as excited as you to have her house filled with grandchildren! Enjoy it, my friend. Thanks for linking up.
