How are you dealing with the 'C' Word? #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning all.
How are you?
Me .... I'm not happy, have had to cancel my weekend away skiing!  Like many of you the Coronavirus has taken me by surprise and I've been forced into a living nightmare, yes I know I'm being extreme but that how it feels.  Bare shelves in the supermarket, cessation of clubs, closure of restaurants and bars it feels like we're starring in a film, & an epic that receives an Oscar at that!
With messages being read differently by people I can't help but feel anxious.  I'm anxious about the kids, grand-kids, my mum, friends, work and getting food!  I have good cupboards to be fair, so shouldn't worry about that.  It's the not knowing what will happen, and having too much spare time doesn't help.  Please share what you are all doing. X
I keep telling myself and everyone else that "nothing lasts forever" and this virus wont either!  We just have to ride the storm and try to stay calm and positive throughout.  Along with the awful stories on the news and media sites there are also the heartwarming kind and loving ones.  I've just seen a family holding banners and balloons outside their 85 year old mum's flat - it was her birthday and she was isolating in a care home.  People are offering to buy shopping, walk dogs and collect medicine. Humans have a way of picking themselves up and working through horrible times.
Today I didn't feel it right to share a frivolous outfit post, so I am just hosting the #Chicandstylish #LINKUP and would love you to join me with any post you'd like to share.

KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON COPING
AMIDST THE CORONAVIRUS!

While I have a little spare time I will be finally be working on a post for my daughters wedding!  It's been a long time coming and I just haven't had the right time to do it ... please watch out in the next few weeks my friends. x  Thanks for your continued support, it's so much appreciated.

Me and David with our five children last May, seems like a lifetime ago with so much going on.
Stay safe and well. XX

  3. Jacqui, you have such a beautiful family! These photos are stunning! Hang in there, my friend! I am going to keep posting my regular type of blog posts because I need the distraction. I feel like fun and frivolous are good things right now since there isn’t much else any of us can do. So when you feel up to it again, do know that your outfit posts are very welcomed! They shine some light and happiness into a rather dark and confusing situation. Stay safe and healthy, my friend!

  4. Well done Jacqui, keep calm and carry on. In times of crisis it brings out the best of human nature and sadly occasionally the worst. In our village there is a tremendous outpouring of love and help with a network already in place to ensure that no-one slips through the net. People are on duties for shopping, dog walking and on standby for the local Care Home if they need additional staff. The kids are drawing rainbows to put in windows as a sign of solidarity and a bit of fun as they need to get out for exercise. On the other hand a local cafe business has had their van broken into stealing chocolates and snacks. Sickening!! We're now on Day 3 of Self Isolation (age related!!!) and this morning I received a Mother's Day mug with my family's photo on the front. Now I can have them with me every day - it's the little things that matter! love and hugs to all Pamela xx

  5. I know, Jacgui! It is not how we are all supposed to spend our times - sitting home and not to go anywhere... But, it is what it is! We still need to stay positive and follow the rules. I have a quarantine for two weeks, working from home.
I love your outfit for the wedding, very classy! Stay healthy!

  10. What a wonderful family pic! I am looking forward to the posts about your daughter's wedding! With the 4 kids at home we are fairly busy and after school work which usually doesn't take them too long, we spend a lot of time in our yard and walking or riding in our neighborhood. Grateful for living in an area where there are open spaces and we can be outdoors a lot. We have been eating dinner on the porch most nights too. I do find myself more tired at night, while I am not super stressed, things do take their toll.

  12. I have a lot to tell! I can't fit it all on here.As Gail said, good news about China, so there is an end to it all. It will just take time. I've been self isolating since Monday after noon and I relished the idea of having time on my hands to get so much done. Yet I haven't got anything done! Haha. I will crack on tomorrow! xx

  15. I know exactly how you feel. It's such an uncertain time, isn't it? I can't help but write about it in my posts--making food, dressing casual, reading and watching movies. Also, lots of long walks with the doggies.

Take care and be safe, Jacqui.

  17. I hear you Jacqui, it's quite crazy, we are in partial lockdown and if you had told me thing were going to be like this a month ago I would not have believed you.
We have to be patient and as you say ride with the wave. A big hug your way.

  18. Such an intense time - I quite enjoy time to think, feel, plan and laugh. On the other hand I am in a different country from my children which I find really challenging. For anxiety I highly recommend you check out Emma Kenny and her Live Clinics on social and her meditations too and nope I don't get anything for saying that - just think she really helps #WowonWednesday
