Fashion and Lifestyle Blogger for the over Fifties - What real women wear!

Tuesday 11 October 2016

A windy afternoon by the beach.

Hi there.

Well and truly feeling the autumn breeze.
Went for a little photo shoot with my amazing god-daughter to take advantage of the sun.  Was rather chilly in this outfit, but was a good practise for both of us.

Here I've worn this crochet tunic over a Cami t shirt, however I've also worn it over a long sleeve beige t shirt a few times - another option would be a black long sleeve t.  This was bought from Wallis many years ago, but still looks like new and always gets a good comment or two.  Similar here and here.
Teaming this with some skinny jeans, these are old faithfuls from Next, fitting in all the right places and are wearable with many tops and tunics. Next have a good selection as do M and S, you're sure to find a style and fit in either of these stores.

You can see I've worn my pearl necklace with a few layers,  I bought this from Primark a few years ago, but it's gotten plenty of wear as I love it.  Quite a statement piece and covers my neck - which is very flattering.  I have actually removed a couple of strands, as they made the necklace a bit too long.  These I can wear on their own with a ribbon securing them together.
I've found these similar beauties here and here.

For any one who's into crocheting, here's a gorgeous example of one you can make yourself see here.  The choices of colours and texture are endless - who's up for a bit of DIY?  I'd love to hear from you/see how it looks.

My very special F and F tassel boots also getting a good airing - being beige they are a great match for so many outfits, wearable even when it's raining due to having a good old spray with suede protector - you can also use this on suede bags or jackets for that extra protection in wetter conditions.

Will be showing you my recent purchases in the next few days, especially a burgundy jumper that is so on point atm.

Catch up tomorrow and don't forget to take advantage of all the discounts that are flying about from the likes of  Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Clarks and many more.

Linking up with Rena at Fine whatever blog. and Rachel at Garay Treasures.

Bye for now. x

  3. I've never crocheted a dress before. I'm a way better knitter, but the pattern looks interesting!!
I love the pearl necklace---what a great idea to remove some of the strands if they didn't work for you!! We alter clothing, so why not jewelry?
