Hope your week is going well. 

Are you watching the football? It’s the World Cup which is being played in America. I normally dislike watching games on telly but have revelled in these. I’m fully supporting England, but I’m not holding my breath for them to do well. Yesterday’s game was alright, with the 4.2 win against Croatia going down very well with the fans. They played really well in the second half but the first wasn’t what I expected professional players to be like. So let’s see how the next games go. 

I’m excited for the weekend or more importantly Saturday night. For my birthday last month David arranged a table at Gordon Ramsey’s London restaurant The Lucky Cat in Bishopsgate. I watched the documentary about how it was put together and fancied going and now I am. I think his advertising company is spot on. What better way to attract customers than do a television program about the adventure. It seems to have really taken off and is hard to get booked in. We went on the waiting list and fortunately it came up after a few days. I so excited to go there and can’t wait to see the setting, it overlooks London, and enjoy the atmosphere of the Asian inspired restaurant. I wonder if Mr Ramsey will be there! I’ve not planned my outfit but will do a post and possible Instagram story sharing my evening.

Welcome to the first blog post of April!

I’m really excited for better weather and Spring outfits, it’s been hinting that warmer temps are on the horizon. I really want to be wearing lighter clothes but I’ve been so cold with biting winds and cooler conditions I’ve hardly embraced my Spring looks yet and I’m so annoyed about it!

I’ve tried to add Spring looks recently but have ended up turning to my warming sweatshirts and jumpers to keep me warm. Have you had this problem?

Todays look features a new knit from Vinted, it’s a comfortable little piece that’s going to get a lots of wear very soon I hope!

I want to share the fact that you might have plenty of separates hanging in your wardrobe but sometimes you just need that little extra piece to make the outfit work.

Style not Age - Welcome to the Jungle.

I'm really getting fed up with this lock-down situation and want to get back to normal now -  pretty please!
After a busy few weeks I thought I'd check my emails to remind Emma for a challenge title for the Style not Age ladies  - thinking she'd maybe forgotten I opened my emails and found she had already sent the prompt some weeks earlier AND there were two post photos already sent!  Having been so wrapped up in the family and lock-down I completely dismissed it from my mind.  I was surprised to find Emma had already sent (and I'd seen) the email suggesting the title of ...

What am I like! So by Friday having already received everyone's photos I had to set about finding something to wear.  This obviously proved a challenge in it's self with no shops open to peruse therefore no inspiration! What's the best thing to do in this situations?  Ask your daughter!  She came up trumps and found two outfits along with a scarf and boots.

Tan Jeans with Pink Jumper!

Hello and what a glorious day it's been today - cold, but bright and sunny.  How's your day been?
Mine,  rather a change from last Saturday when I was throwing myself down a mountain at full speed in a snow storm, and today relaxing at home, with the hardest task deciding to have tea or coffee with my breakfast!

Negotiating what beverage to have in this attire, jeans and jumper as usual, with nothing new except the boots, I love these boots.  First wear and they are so comfortable, slip on like Cinderellas glass slipper, with the added benefit of being a great match for lots of outfits. I'll be wearing these with so many different jeans and jumpers, I hope you wont get bored of them, I'm sure I wont!

Getting their first airing this year, my Matalan tan jeans, fitting high on the waist, great for pulling everything 'in'!  Over these I've chosen a pale pink H and M crossover fine knit jumper.  I've put this over a plain pink vest top, and then matched in two scarves twisted together - one plain, the other floral cotton in beautiful spring inspiring colours, the likes of pink, yellow, mauve and green.  A real pick-me-up to brighten my outfit.
Who else is pining for Spring?  I've not been into the stores since Christmas, and I cannot wait to see what styles and colours are filtering in.

The first time I've worn these gorgeous boots, but I'm having to pick and choose exactly when I do - being suede I don't want to ruin them in wet weather.
The slip on boots, have a medium height heel that makes them a joy to wear, and with the block heel, they are sturdy too! These coming from one of my favourite shops - T K Maxx. However I know Debenhams have some super examples too.

Wrapping two scarves together - one plain, one patterned or floral makes for an interesting 'one off' scarf, that you can personalise yourself!  Both of mine I've had on my scarf rack for ages, and scarfs can be a cheap or expensive item to jazz up any ensemble.

I've something very exciting in the pipe line and can't wait to share it with you.
Oh and I'll be visiting the stores for ideas, inspiration and some purchases before long, lets hope this cold weather with shove off and we can really start to think of Spring and brightening up the wardrobe.

It's finally Christmas Eve, eve! - Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Yay - finally made it to Christmas in one piece.  Just one day to go, getting the real last minute bits, and sinking into the warmth and joy of a relaxing Christmas Eve, with just a little help from the odd glass of prosecco and maybe a cocktail or two!

The last week has been a bit of a blur, with errands, shopping, wrapping, and generally just running around like a head-less chicken!
Yesterday I had a really fun day out with my princess, and all the children.  We all had a super time on the Romney, Hythe, Dymchurch miniature railway.
We travelled from Hythe upon the tiny, two people wide carriage, through fields of sheep and peoples' back gardens.  Princess thoroughly enjoyed meeting Father Christmas, receiving a special present from him - a puzzle and book (although I think she wanted a dolly)  oh well fingers crossed for two days time!

We snacked on sausage rolls, mince pies along with mulled wine or coffee.  After a short while of eating and chatting we made our way upstairs to visit the toy railway, princess loved this and I must admit I did too, pressing the buttons to light up the various building, and start certain trains to forge their way through the vast toy scenery.  I've been a few times in the past, and still it fills me with excitement at seeing the toy train set.

You can see just how small the train and carriages are - snug to say the least!

Casual with warmth by way of my Next jeans, beige suede lace up boots from Clarks, with my super Roman Originals black coat, I love the circular pattern on it.  Also a perfect length to cover a long blouse or tunic - sometimes I don't like to see layers hanging down below a coat.  A cream scarf that started off wrapped round my neck, but because I got super hot, I just left it to hang.  Cold, hot  my body can never quite make up it's mind!! Do you have that trouble?

The second outing for this pretty blouse from Matalan, check out the first time here.  I love this cute blouse, these pinks and mauves are my favourite colours, all blended onto this blouse with the fresh white background - perfect for a winters afternoon out.

It wouldn't be Christmas without a touch of snow!  Well artificial snow had to do, but felt very real - all the children loved it, especially my little princess!


In time we started our journey home although it was a little chilly as the sun had gone down, once back to the cars we were happy to meet at a pub en route to have a lovely meal, the likes of burgers, fish and chips, steak and good old sausage 'n' mash.  We all had a fabulous time, and it was lovely to have nothing to rush about for and we could all relax in the surprisingly quiet pub.
