A Wrap Dress from Jenerique.

Morning all.
How are you my friends?

I’ve blinked and missed the weekend! Surely it’s only Friday? Ha ha, I’m joking really but to be honest with you my weekend was so busy it came and went in a flash!
Friday night I was back to ballroom. We took on a jive and as usual I picked it up quite well and throughly enjoyed the whole dance, well we only learnt half the routine and will finish it off next week.
On Saturday morning I helped my eldest daughter out and took one of her boys to football. After a last minute change of venue the game started in the rain, and fortunately I anticipated the wet weather and took my rain coat and umbrella. Alas it turned chilly by the end of the 40 minute game and I was rather happy to get home.
I soon warmed up as I went to my daughter’s house, the one who’s living with me whilst her house is extended, for a day of painting. We started with a base layer of mist spray which was the worst part of painting. Once all the upstairs rooms had one coat of the mist spray we started on a proper coat of paint, we went round all the rooms before returning home for an Indian takeaway and a much needed glass of bubbles.
The following day, after doing a clean for my daughter at her Air BNB, I went back to paint again, this time after finishing the landing I started on the downstairs. Another mist coat which is a watery half mix of paint was applied. It’s a big room with the kitchen, dining area and sitting room all in one place and although it took ages, we managed to get it all done. We’ll tackle that room in the week with proper paint and hope to see the difference in no time, painting a room really starts to make a room more like a liveable room doesn’t it? After a busy weekend of hard work it was wonderful to come home to a home cooked dinner of chicken, mushroom and leek pie served with baby roast potatoes, tender-stem broccoli and peas. Isn’t it nicer to have dinner cooked for you?
As you can imagine I didn’t have time to take photos, which is a real shame - I’ve been wearing so many wonderful autumnal outfits since I came home, so I’ll share a cute dress I took away with me to Sicily.

March Review.

Morning everyone.
How are you?
April already, and I hope the old saying "April Showers" doesn't ring true, we've had so much rain already I want the sun now!  I've got some new skirts that I want to start wearing and I want to get out of my boots and into shoes too.

This week I've got to pack for my long weekend to Valmoral.  I know exactly what I'm taking so it won't be too much fuss - I just need to get into the loft to retrieve the ski gear I put away after the last trip, I didn't anticipate getting away again, so it's been a nice surprise.

David and I like to take a packed lunch picnic with us for the drive down, so I'll be making rolls the night before and packing a few treats to enjoy on the drive.  I'm also going to take a flask of coffee to have on the Eurotunnel crossing, save getting something on the train, although we'll have rest stops as we go so will get fresh drinks and any snacks there.

It's the beginning of the month, so time to share my looks from last month with you.

Welcome to my March Review.

Talking of coffee, at the start of March I shared a new gilet with you and wore a latte inspired outfit to run some chores.  Do pop back for a quick read about my look - it's one I feel at home in and wear quite often.

July Review.

Hi everyone.
Thanks for joining me today, Mummabstylish needs and welcomes all your support - so Thank You!

It's shocking to be in August already don't you think?  This year, like many once we are a bit older seem to fly by so quickly.  Before long we'll be talking about Christmas won't we!

Anyway would you like a little re-cap of July and all her wonderful outfits and antics?
Well look no further as your wish is granted. x

The July Review is here.

My month has been a bit full on really.  With a week in Majorca in June and another trip to Rhodes last month there hasn't been much time in-between to get back into blogging.  I promise to get my head into the right space and produce better posts and hope you'll stay around to enjoy it with me. X

Looking back to the beginning of July I was lucky to find this stylish dress in Majorca, in the local market to be exact.  I like to return home with a little purchase or two & actually came back with two similar dresses, this one and another I've yet to show you.  Have a look at this classic smock dress that's an  irresistible shade of orange - well I certainly couldn't resist it, I had to have it.
What would you have done?  Seems I wasn't alone with my love of this one as I've had lots of nice comments about it. 🧡

The dress I bought from a Market in Majorca - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Hi there,
Hope you're doing well.

Thanks so much for joining me today.
I'd love you to join the link up below, let me see what you've worn this week or what you've been up to!
I've been back to normal after my holiday to Majorca. Back to the gym, dance classes, washing, ironing and cutting the grass. Groan .... cutting the grass is such hard work & seems to go on forever.  Well to be honest there is hope insight as we are starting our 'new build' in the summer so the cutting area will a little bit smaller than usual ... hooray!

I've yet to do my post about my recent holiday to the Island but what I wanted to share this pretty little dress I found in the local market.

We knew the market was on a Friday, but once we'd walked to the starting point (coincidentally by a fun little bar) nothing was there.  So we started walking along the route is should have been until someone looked backwards and spotted it going the other way along the seafront!  There were the usual stalls selling local produce, unusual jewellery, leather goods and plenty of dress stalls.  I wanted to find something that would be good for the holiday and also great to wear at home.  Fortunately I managed to find this one.  My cotton midi is a striking shade of orange that has gotten me a whole load of compliments, which is brilliant because I've only worn it once!

Spring Greens from Cotton Traders.

Morning everyone.
How are you all today?

I've had another super weekend, with lots accomplished.
Saturday was one of those days when loads got done and Sunday wasn't too bad either.  Hubby and I cut both front and back grass and did plenty of clearing and sorting.  We also got a few jobs done in the house with my daughter helping sort some of the crap we had stored.  Are we the only house who has tons of 'stuff' all over the place?  There's lots to go to the charity shop, some bags to go to the tip and a few bits that have just been 'moved' lol!

Another amazing dinner on Sunday with roast lamb being served for 7.  I do enjoy having the family round for dinner, we always have plenty to laugh about and I end up eating way to much!

I've wanted to add more brighter colours to my outfits, and one colour that's missing is green.  It's not a shade I choose to wear, but think it might suit my colouring ... I have hazel eyes so when I do pick it I often get nice compliments.  When I was invited to style some Cotton Traders items I immediately added this stunning green cardigan to my list.  Have you noticed it's all about cardigans recently?  Plenty of ladies styling them back-to-front or doing buttons up different ways, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give that a try.
But today I'll share the basic way to wear it.

Jumpsuit Joy from Nomads Clothing - #Chicandstylish #LINKUP

Morning everyone.
Hope you are well.
Nearly the end of March can you believe it!  The weather has been lovely recently, really quite warm on some days, so much so I wore a dress with my legs out the other day!  Had to quickly reach for the fake tan though, I really need to get on the sunbed I think!

The grandchildren have been filling my days this week, and tonight I have two for a sleep-over.  They are staying for the day tomorrow so I'm planning on taking them to the kids soft play center so they can let off a bit of steam.  I can get a coffee there and watch them play, although as they're still quite young I'm sure nanny will have to join in and play with them. 😉

Going back to the warm weather we've been having, I though it might be time to talk about proper Spring dressing like this new jumpsuit I was gifted from Nomads Clothing.  One of my favourite things about warmer weather is wearing less layers, I do hate bulky jumpers and and thick coats and adore wearing thinner jumpers and jackets.
