Primark - Skirt, knit & Flats.

Hello my friends.
How’s your weekend been?

Another chaotic one for me!
Friday I was back dancing. I’ve had three weeks off due to the Easter break so it was nice to get back into it. We’d chosen the cha cha cha, which was good fun. I picked up the steps easily and was soon dancing across the floor with a little sass and a lot of flair, even if I do say so myself!

Saturday I had a bit of a later start than the past few weeks - with a nice little lie in! I eventually got up to head down to clean the Airbnb before returning home to get ready to travel to London, bridesmaid dress shopping. My daughter got lots of ideas for colours and styles and all the bridesmaids came along too so we all got a good idea of what worked for their figures. It was a busy day that was quite tiring. We got home at a reasonable hour but still I felt knackered!
After the big ‘try on session’ we wanted food. We headed back to the main station and found a great venue opposite Victoria called the Market Halls. It’s full of individual eateries ranging from burgers, fried chicken, noodles, kebabs to name but a few. There was also live music and couple of bars along with a rooftop terrace - but cold for us but a fantastic atmosphere. I had a chicken burger and later picked up a cocktail can for the train journey home!

Sunday was a really enjoyable day. After a late start again - yes two lazy mornings! I got myself ready to watch my granddaughter in her dancing show. I went two years ago and it was lovely to go again and see how much she’s improved. She’s one of the younger members but still completed a beautiful ballet routine complete with a pretty white tutu! Takes after her nanny I think. 🤍
It wasn’t a very long show and when I got home I joined David in the pub with three of our children and another granddaughter. They have a huge fish pond in The Barn so we had fun feeding the fish. David and I had no dinner plans so along with my youngest son had a wonderful roast dinner in there. I picked the turkey roast which was served with plenty of veg! No cooking or washing up, which was pure bliss!

Today’s outfit is what I wore.
I’d been into Canterbury on Thursday to do a few jobs and found myself browsing the Primark over there. I returned home with this skirt and pretty red shoes. Both very comfortable and I’ll be able to incorporate them with lots already in my wardrobe. You can see my reel featuring the skirt here.

Let’s take more about the skirt. It’s a full maxi that sits on a half elastic waist making it extremely comfortable to wear. It’s got side pockets too, which always gets top marks from me! I like the length although I’d go a bit shorter if I’m honest. It might be a tad too hot come the warmer weather, but for now it’s a great choice.

It’s available in black and white too but the tan is so classic and so very wearable. I love this pillar box red look. I’m thinking of getting a navy top as that’s a super stylish combination too. What shades would you wear it with?

This red and tan ensemble has my name stamped all over it. I adore red and when I bought the cute lace effect ballet shoes I knew this little knit would be perfect. It’s also from Primark, (previous season) and I’ve worn and washed it so much it’s excellent quality. Shame they don’t have similar this year, that’s the trouble with Primark, if you find something like this it’s best to buy it straight away and in all the colours!

Thanks for joining me today. Appreciate your time and support. Join me on Thursday for the linkup.

  1. Your weekend sounds lovely, Jacqui! I'm sure your granddaughter did get her talent from her nanny! I love this color combination and think blue would also work wonderfully! I hope you have a fabulous rest of the week!

  2. I've been a follower of yours for almost a year now I think! I don't remember how I found you but, I am drawn to your blog and IG because we are of close age, stages of life and style! Just knowing that you can jaunt off to Canterbury and London for shopping is so exciting to me! That is another level of enjoyment I get from your blog. I suppose due to my English ancestry, I am definitely English at heart!

Although you are across the pond from me (Michigan, USA) and the shops you frequent are quite different to what I have available here, I appreciate your fashion sense! I have found I have many similar pieces in my own closet! Now, that jacket you wore in this post! I love it and it would go with so many of my own outfits. I must be on the lookout in the US for one similar! Every time you wear it, I LOVE it! Thank you for sharing a bit of yourself Jacqui! (By the way, I even have a little granddaughter named Jacqueline Piper! We call her Jackie the Pip! LOL)
