My Christmas! - #Chicandstylish #Linkup

Good morning and a big hug for joining me today.
How’s your Christmas gone?

It actually seemed to come and go really quickly for me.
There I was enjoying Christmas Eve in Canterbury for a last minute shop, couple of drinks and fantastic meal in one of my favourite restaurants. The next I’m sitting here preparing today’s blog post!  The town was very quiet to be fair and I reckon most people completed their shopping by Friday! Even the supermarket wasn’t that busy, which made getting the last minute ‘essentials’ easy! By last minute essentials I mean sweets and chocolates … lol!

Sunday evening we prepared the turkey ready for an early cooking time of 4 am (David always wakes up and puts it in) which was a good job as I’d had a few more glasses of fizz than I’d planned to have, this resulted in not cooking the red cabbage and paté like I normally do the night before the big day. So on Christmas morning I had to add those jobs to my list! Anyway with help of the kids I managed to get everything done, with David doing lots of the cooking!  We sat down to an amazing spread at 4.30 and what a tasty dinner it was!

Tuesday was much more relaxed and although I had one extra guest than Christmas Day (15 of us were seated) it’s always so much more chilled! I enjoy Boxing Day for this reason, if it’s not done it really doesn’t matter unlike the 25th!
Today, much like yesterday will be spent on the sofa in front of the telly, the run up to the festive period is always such a mad time, so it’s a much needed time to recuperate and recharge the batteries! What do you do in the twixmas period?

As usual I’ve been truly spoilt with some stunning gifts. I got a super stylish red bag, earrings, bracelet, Trinny eyeshadow, Neal’s Yard products and lots more, I’m sure over the next few weeks I’ll share some with you. Did you get some lovely presents? Let me know in the comments section what you got!

This is us in El Sol tapas in Canterbury, which was so good. I really enjoy having this style of food as you get to enjoy so much more than one plate. Here’s some dishes I devoured with the help of David, Emily and Sophie. It was funny when the waiter said maybe we’d ordered too much! We ate it all!!! Oh dear - the diet starts soon … lol!

  3. Jacqui, it sounds like a beautiful way to celebrate the holidays! I do love the chocolates and candy! I just scooped up a whole bag full of holiday candies on clearance for 90% off. My favorite part of the holidays is the clearance candy after the holidays! Ha. Nancy and I are featuring holiday gifts for January's Good Buy/Good-Bye Book...hopefully, you will share some of your favorites with us! Wishing you many blessings in the new year, my friend.

  4. I love your outfit for your outing! I haven't had tapas in quite a while, maybe last time was in 2019 in Spain. They have a few tapas restaurants in Atlanta and its surrounding city but it was been quite a few years since we have been. We enjoyed our celebrations and I always start thinking about the new year coming up so I have been doing some planning.

  7. Sounds like a lovely, if slightly exhausting Christmas. I’ve eaten far too much too, but that’s kind of the point of Christmas lol. Best wishes for the New Year xx

  8. We had a wonderful Christmas! There were 11 of us, and I think everyone had a good time. I'm not so sure they were wild over the menu...we did a taco bar. I'll have to see what they want to do next year. Have a wonderful New Year, Jacqui, and thanks for the link up!
