Caramel, Blue and Grey - Chicandstylish #LINKUP

A big warm welcome to you all.
Thanks for stopping by today.

Typical Mother Nature in the UK.  We're now having a heatwave just as the kids have gone back to school!  Anyone else struggling with it?  Well I'm not struggling with the heat, it's just I've gotten my head-space into Autumn and have recently been buying and thinking of a new capsule wardrobe (something I've never done before).  I've been and bought a few new bits in khaki green and aim to utilize some clothes I already have to build upon.  Khaki or olive green go with quite a few colours and I've already got lots of cream which will work well, but also black, blue, gold and tan could pair beautifully with it too.
Have you got any other suggestions for me to try, my wardrobe is a riot of shades, so I'm sure to have something else that will work.

So with the temperatures in the high 20's I've been cooling off in shorts and tee shirts, with the odd dress thrown in, but I've still been melting in it and not enjoying it very much.  I like to be on holiday sitting by a pool with a large drink in hand, not cutting grass and going to the gym lol!

Today I thought I spare the horrendous shorts photo and share an outfit I wore the other day when it wasn't quite so hot, in fact the weather was quite stormy as you can see my the photos, we did have a sprinkling of rain, but nothing to write home about which was good.  The outfit came from being inspired on Instagram and it just so happened to emulate my surroundings that were a mixture of grey's, blues & caramel - let me know what you think of my typical 'Jacqui' look.

I've actually got these trousers in two sizes, and depending on how thin or fat I feel I wear accordingly, I could really do with buying two sizes every time I shop, but quite honestly that isn't feasible and would cost a fortune, is that something you'd consider?  The wide leg style is a favourite of mine as you probably know already, I'm always on the lookout for new colours and at the moment I'm after a green pair to add to my capsule collection, have you seen any online?  Let me know if you have please.

I added a grey Tee shirt to it as I've seen it mixed together before.  This is a racer style and I've been on the lookout for a suitable bra to wear, it wasn't until talking to my daughters the other day when we were shopping for said bra that they told me about a little clip that attaches to a normal bra making it into a race style at back - WHY have I never heard about this before?  I went onto Amazon and found just what I needed, and they were only £6!  Job done, now I have a few different colours to attach to different bras - perfect!

As I mentioned above the blazer was spotted on a fellow Instagram'er and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.  So I jumped onto H & M's website to bag my own.  It's a nice fabric that feels soft to touch and cool to wear.  I think pale blue will be suitable for all seasons, and might even try it with my khaki pieces - what do you think?  One to share on here one day?

Final additions were my favourite cream Moschino bag (Similar) and cream chunky sandals.  I simply adore this bag, it was a Christmas present from David (I dropped lots of hints and he picked up on them .. lol).  It's slightly worn around the edges now, but still makes quite a nice statement.  We all like statement bags don't we!  The sandals have a nice chunky sole and look great with everything I've paired them with so far.  You can see them worn with my black trousers and vest top here too!

  1. Sweltering here in Essex Jacqui Think of me having to take photos of winter wear today :-( I bought a semi-fitted blazer from H&M earlier in the year and I think for the money, the tailoring isn't too shabby at all. Love this colour mix that you have going on here. xx

  5. What a perfect spot to take your photos! The colors of your surrounding complement your outfit and the cloudy sky is striking. I love this color palette. I am ready for fall too and am loving the cooler mornings. Still heating up in the afternoons though!

  6. Great outfit, I love the soft palette of colors for the transition to fall. We are in a heat wave here in costal Maryland, too. It's going up to 90 degrees today, so it is hard to even think about autumn! Thanks for sharing and the link up!

  10. Oh, the weather Jacqui - what's going on?! I mean I love summer but it's soooooo sticky right now!!

Even looking at your oufit is making me feel hot, but it IS lovely: those colours are beautiful together. In answer to your question about khaki/olive green, I think it's THE best neutral. So much better and more flattering than black, I love it and have to stop myself always looking for khaki everything ;)

Thank you for hosting, have a lovely Thursday!

  13. Jacqui, this is a gorgeous outfit! I love this pastel blue blazer on you and the tan and blue combination is so pretty. And those sandals are so cool! They really elevate the whole outfit. We have had a late summer heat spell as well but it is starting to cool off significantly now. Have a lovey weekend!

  15. This is a lovely colour combination Jacqui. The jacket is fabulous, gorgeous shade of blue. I love the hot weather but it's going to get cooler next week. I don't mind that, but it's the rain that gets on my nerves, especially when I want to take photos!
