Good morning everyone
How are you all today?
Well isn't the weather awful here? Nothing but cold wind and dreary skies, it's hard to think it's the 1st day of June! I'm doubting we'll have any sort of decent Summer which makes me sad. I can't even look forward to a holiday of sunshine because both David and I want to concentrate on building the new house. I've got so many lovely Summer dresses and sandals to enjoy wearing, but all I feel like putting on are trousers, long sleeves and warm jackets like this outfit I wore yesterday for an afternoon out with friends. I had in mind this pretty dress but just could not get my legs out - even if the weather was accommodating my legs haven't had any sun are a paler shade of white and in the cold they'd have a pretty 'mottled' tinge to them ... lol! I seriously need to get some fake tan on - any recommendations?
Anyway more about my ensemble. I had in mind to wear the trousers once I'd decided a dress would be too cold. I popped them on and headed to the wardrobe for a shirt. My hand fell upon this one and I figured the colours would work with my black faux leather. I toyed with black heels too, but ended up with these lighter coloured feminine heels and matching padded bag, read on for all the deets!
I actually bought these trousers in two sizes, the smaller was a tad tight, but the larger was a bit loose, so depending on how I feel on the day I wear them I pick the best size for me! Quite a good idea don't you think?
They're from New Look and being neutral can be worn with just about anything. I picked cream heels yesterday which look super glam with the trousers, it's an elegant combination and having worn trainers previously I rather like the versatility of them. I have also been tempted to buy trousers in different lengths too, making it easier to wear with varying heel heights, that's another great idea too!
I like to wear high waist trousers sometimes and these are a great example. I could have also popped on a belt as they have belt loops on the waist - this is a good finishing touch. Additionally these have pockets - I do love anything with a pocket ... do you?
The animal print chiffon blouse has never dated as it's a classic look. It's got a fine lurex thread running through the fabric and also has a nice sheen to it. You'll always find animal patterns in the stores and online shops and if you're a fan of them will never go wrong buying them. I've got loads in my wardrobe ranging from dresses, to trousers including jumpers, scarfs, skirts and shirts. I must admit it's a bit 'marmite' you either love a bit of wild print or hate it - anyway they're here to stay and always in fashion for some of us.
Have you spotted my sunglasses? I picked them up in Primark for a bargain price of £3.50! I've got a few different styles and like to change them up every day - I took these away to Majorca although with the lack of sun I didn't really need them ... ha ha!
