Style Not Age Share ... "Orange you Excited for Halloween"

Morning my friends.
How are you?

I've been suffering with a bad cough and cold for the past week and have been well and truly out of sorts.  I finally went to the doctor on Saturday and after a 2 1/2 hour wait I was prescribed antibiotics for a chest infection.  I hate being unwell and don't have much patience for it ... lol!
I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be on it's way out soon so I can get back to normal!

I've had a couple of birthdays over the past few of days, it was my mum's on Friday and my second eldest daughter's yesterday.  My sister and I took mum out for lunch to a local restaurant.  It was yummy and delicious and we certainly had a lovely experience in the fine dining venue.  Mum was so impressed with  The Tylers Kiln, she's booked a table just before Christmas when my uncle visits her.
Yesterday Emily wanted us to go bowling, so we had a couple of hours with all the family enjoying some fun at our local bowing alley.  We ended the day with a takeaway, it was nice to not have to cook too.

But shall we get back to today's task?  It's the end of the month so it's time to take a look at what my four friends have been styling around my prompt of ....

Orange you Excited for Halloween!

This month it was my choice, & as the challenge fell on 31st October it felt right to base the prompt around Halloween.
Orange always reminds me of Halloween - probably because pumpkins are orange and play an important part in this annual event.  It's not a shade I choose very often, but still like to include it occasionally, so when I spotted this dress on the Izabel website I thought that would be a perfect wear for Autumn - what do you think?

Items marked with * have been gifted to me, however these are 100% my own honest comments.

As I mentioned above orange doesn't play a big part in my wardrobe and I don't know why because being dark haired I think it suits me.  I love to wear red which is on the same colour hue, so I reckon it works.  Izabel Clothing have a huge website of fabulous dresses and clothing and even though I hate looking online, I quite like scrolling through their site as I always see so much I like.  They have such a big mixture of styles, colours and materials you'll be spoilt for choice.  You can see some other dresses I love from them here, here, here and this one I bought here.

I wanted a dress that would be okay for this season when a jumper and boots are mostly called for.  A jumper or cardigan over this striking dress would be brilliant.  Flat boots or trainers come to mind too, they would give it a slightly more casual vibe which would be suitable for wearing in the day for running errands.

I'm wearing a Geo print midi dress* that has an unusual pleat to it.  It's actually two styles of pleat, from the waist they are tiny pinches that graduate into bigger pleats.  It hangs beautifully and swishes about when I walk, making it a perfect feminine number.  It has buttons running to the waist that I did up to about half way leaving the top to fall open.  I didn't wear a necklace, but with a style like this it's a balanced way to wear one should you wish.

Making use of my little orange bag.  It doesn't hold much but when you're out for dinner all you need is your phone, lippy and a card!

I teamed a new pair of shoes with today's look.  They were kindly gifted to my from Lotus Shoes.  I don't know about you but I love a sling back.  My very first pair were navy and I bought them for my first job in a Travel Agents.  I dressed them up and down and from there on I was always drawn to the style.
These are black and diamante making them the best option for Christmas parties and nights out.  They had a really comfortable elastic strap across the foot to keep you safe and sturdy.  The heel is an elegant patent and is a thinner more flattering shape.  They'll have you dancing the night away and still keep your feet happy!  The Lotus Joie* is also available in stunning silver too.  Both have matching clutch bags for the ultimate finish.

I'm going to start with Gail's outfit, she's not one for wearing orange, but made the look right with some orange stripey tights.  See more of her look on her blog Is This Mutton.

Shall we pop over to see what Anna - Anna's Island Style went for?  A very striking orange trench coat that must brighten up everywhere Anna goes.  Topped off with patterned trousers and flattering jumper it's all come together really well.

Next up it's Emma - Style Splash turn.  She's wearing a bargain dress she picked up in T K Maxx for £10, I do love to get a good deal don't you? Do stop by her blog for all the details.

Finally Hilda - Over the Hilda picked this perfect orange coat.  She's toyed with donating it to charity, but I agree with you Hilda - keep hold of it it's a stunner!

Many thanks for reading my blog today, I thank you for taking the time to do so.  Do stop by my friends and show them some love too, they are all wonderful and very inspirational.
Hope to see you on Thursday for the #LINKUP and until then have a fun week.
Cheerio for now. X

  7. That dress is beautiful on you and I love the matchy-bag with it! I like orange but don't have too much of it in my wardrobe. This is such a fun theme and an excuse to think about wearing some of my orange pieces again!
