Morning my lovely friends.
Apologies for no post last Monday! Busy family times, and not one iota of inspiration is my defence your honor - lol
How are you all?
How scary to think it's nearly the longest day. Being shut away these past couple of months has been very weird! It's affected everyone in different ways I can't wait for it to be over. With the reopening of a variety of non-essential shops and services I feeling quite positive about the next few weeks and what changes I can take advantage of. Fashion shops will be open which makes me feel very happy, I can not wait to get shopping, and after all we need the economy to get up and running don't we!
I've got some birthday money to spend and have a long list of necessities. Well to me they are much needed.
You know I've taken up running so need some new leggings as mine are too big and start falling down when I jog, so I spend most of the run trying to pull them up - not a pretty sight! I've seen a couple of pairs in my local Matalan, but online were sold out, I'll be popping in to see what they have and hope they might have gone in the sale! 😉
Back to my outfit today, these are very much available online.
You might recall I wore them last week when I shared these brilliant sandals from Vandal Shoes. I hummed and arrhed whether to shorten them or not - I decided to go-for-it so chopped a good five inches off the bottom. I pulled at the hem to make them fray which made them look older! I'm really pleased with the outcome & having worn them two more times since their last outing they've become a firm favourite for the foreseeable future. Now having said that I love to wear dresses! But they just aren't all that practical are they, especially when picking up the grand-kids and crawling about on the floor with them. ha ha 🤣
Today I've gone down the double denim route. How often do you hear "you shouldn't wear double denim" ? Well I for one don't care! It looks okay don't you think and it saves having to look for a suitable alternative jacket eh? I like the fact it's not actually matching denim, the colours are different so It's not a complete suit is it.

50 shades of Monochromatic for 5 Over50.
Morning, yep it really is the beginning of July, and yep it's the third challenge of 5 Over 50!!
If you missed the first two challenges you can view both May and June here. X
So to re-cap on what 5 Over 50 is.
A theme is set by one of us each month that we then set about styling in our own individual way.
Founded by Gail from Is this Mutton? I have thoroughly enjoyed taking part each month, grasping some fresh ideas along the way!
So without further waffling here's July's challenge which was set by My friend Laurie from
Vanity and Me.
50 shades of Monochromatic.
I have to admit this one had me and my girls discussing what this style challenge actually meant!
We were tooing and froing between what we thought monochromatic was, is it only one colour for the whole outfit, or both black and white! As you can see obviously I was right! sorry girls - ha!
Well you can see what my interpretation was - All Yellow and canary yellow at that!
I think I fitted in well with the field of daisy's, Esther commented she felt our 'shoot' was very Marc Jacobs! except I'm not 16! Oh and not a model (laughs hilariously).
I could have picked any colour for this challenge, and sometimes having so much choice to start off with makes picking something harder! Going through my wardrobe I spotted this birthday present from the kids - bright yellow fitted trousers from Zara - now the challenge was starting to get easier!
Visiting my local Asda store I found the perfect matches in a cami top the exact same colour along with a chiffon sleeveless floral shirt - again in the same blaring canary yellow. The shirt has clusters of flowers over it giving a bit of depth to my look.
Hurray - my outfit was born. Adding gold strappy sandals, with a perfect heel height, again from Zara. Still keeping with the one colour theme, well, yellow/gold same thing through squinty eyes and a dim light lol.
Can you spot the black bugs that were drawn to the yellow? I was covered in them, I kept brushing them off, but they kept coming!! Esther wasn't left out either, they landed on her white tee shirt too!
I've got the bug - the love bug for this outfit!
"No matter how small you are you, can still achieve big things"
This two bow detail on the side of these ankle length trousers is Cute-As-Hell!
My girls know me so well, I was thrilled when I opened the present and just as elated when I wore them for the first time. The bright canary yellow screams summer, and I felt warm and sunny when I wore them.
The only yellow bag I own ... opps sorry my daughter owns! You may have seen it before
here and here.
Trousers from Zara (reduced to £19.99)
Cami From Asda £5
Blouse from Asda £12
Sandals from Zara (past season)
Bag from Primark (Daughters)
That's enough of my choice lets see what the four other beautiful ladies have up their sleeves!
Really loving how everyone worked this challenge...Amazing outfit inspiration, wouldn't you agree?
You're going to find much more on these fine blogs, why don't you pop over there now!
Photos produced by Esther Ruby ... Thank You. X

What hat are you wearing today?
Morning all.
So today like many mums/daughters/sisters - well OK just about everyone really, I had various 'hats' on today.
There was the 'mum hat' taking care of the washing, dinner arrangements etc
The 'Nannie hat' personally one of my favourites. It's always nanny's job to take princess to the toilet, washing her face and hands, playing games and hearing all about pre-school (how can she be that old already??)
The 'dog sitter hat' feeding my little dog Roxy.
A new hat for me today the 'amateur hairdresser hat' Yes I need no applause I coloured and blow dried my mums hair! Very proud as I've never even coloured my own hair - oh except once when I was about 16! Having very dark, nearly black hair I decided to dye mine black, yep coal black - it looked awful totally flat, no depth of colour - nothing, except the dark bluey/black stain over my scalp that took ages to go and kept staining my fingers! Anyway I digress. Mums hair turned out the warm blond that is said on the box! We did have a few laughs worrying it would either not take or turn green, but I'm happy to announce it looked great!
Now I've got my 'me hat' on. A little blogging, that is until it's time to create dinner. Judging by today's results I reckon I'll either have Raymond Blanc or Vogue on the phone to talk Haute Cuisine or Haute Couture! Ha ha!
Today has been a dress-down-relaxed-style day.
Long tunic top in black with bold white spots, this tunic has an elasticated waist with a tie belt, scoop neck with small pleats making a cute little detailed neckline. I wore a vest t shirt underneath, with my cosy cream long line cardigan over the top. Leggings accompanied this lazy look, and of course my cream shiny baseball trainers.
