How are you?
Welcome to the blog, have you had a super week?
I had a lovely start to the week and you might remember I went to London on Monday to meet a friend. Did you see who it was?
Yes I met Anna - Anna’s Island style. We met through blogging a few years ago and have managed to meet up twice in the past. She lives over on Tresco - on the Scilly Isles and doesn’t come to London very often, so when she does it seems the ideal thing to do!
We met in Liberty’s which is an amazing store selling almost anything, if you’ve not been it’s well worth a visit - even if it’s just to view the dresses! I found the perfect maxi for my daughter’s wedding next year although I had to double take on the price tag … it was £4,350!!!
Anna came over for a book singing, she’ll be blogging about that soon, so there was only one day she was in town. I am more-or-less free on most days, so could commit to meeting up on Monday. It was a bit of a problem for us both because there was a tube strike! I changed the train route into London and took the slow train to Charing Cross. I would usually take the train to Victoria and then use the tube, however taking the Charing Cross train meant I was within walking distance and it literally took me about 20 minutes to walk though the streets, which I have to add were bustling. I was a little nervous at first and was pleased to find the road I needed which just so happened to be right next to H&M! I had a browse in the big store and found a lovely pair of brown wide leg trousers that I instantly decided to buy (look out for them soon). After paying I returned to the road I was on and once I’d got my bearings realised Liberty’s was right in front of me! I’d arrived safe and sound and waited for Anna to arrive.
Now can you image what two similar minded bloggers did for an afternoon in Liberty’s, yes we talked and we talked and we talked! It was lovely. Just chatting about everything and anything and mostly things that were blogging related it was wonderful. We did look all over the store and marvelled at the beautiful clothes, jewellery, soft-wear and jewellery along with the little knick-knacks little paper weights, vases and pencil cases - can you believe some of them were priced in double figures!!!!
We chatted for hours and the time simply ran away with us. We both walked back to Charing Cross where I was catching the train back and Anna caught a taxi. I’m so pleased she suggested meeting up again and I really had a wonderful afternoon catching up, comparing blogs, talking about past blog posts and generally putting the world to rights, not to mention getting some inspiration from the stunning garments Liberty’s sells!
I wore something that I felt was easy to walk about in, namely my newish brown trousers, but paired under my red top for a change. I added dolly shoes, these H&M flats have to be my favourites for a while now and I seem to be drawn to them at every occasion. I opted for a bigger bag and took my Sarah Haran Dalia bag with me. Well I could fit in my little jacket, makeup bag and water bottle along with my phone, charger and purse, it’s big enough to hold so many essentials. I took my charger but unfortunately the charger for the IPhone 15 doesn’t have a charging point on the train - I need to get an adapter but with the limited amount I will ever need it, makes me
refrain from getting one!
I grabbed a coffee and wrap for the return journey and eventually climbed aboard the near empty train for the ride home. David picked me up from the station and listened to me relaying the whole day, congratulating me when I told him how pleased I was to find my way around London (well some of it). Roll on the next time is all I can say, but let’s hope there not a tube strike again!
